Queens of the Stone Age

draconian - 10-22-2002 at 05:25 PM

I remember seeing the No One Knows video when it came out in August and thinking "That's a rad song but will it get airplay?" And now it's all over the place.

Anyone else digging the new album? Some mag did an interview with Josh Homme where he said that they tell all their drummers that they want the drum part to be as melodic as the guitar part, and featured prominently in each song. That philosophy totally comes through in this album, and oh I love it so!

I soon shall be joining you in Stone Age ecstasy. Been slowly hearing things about these guys everywhere. A few months ago I was walking through a warehouse, and one of the IT guys was streaming this kick-ass jam through a computer, and blasting it through an amped monitor from his computer, and I asked who it was, and he goes "Queens of the Stone Age". They were in town a few weeks ago at The Palladium, and the turnout looked heavy as drove by on my way to "Apples In Stereo". So much music , so little time.:)

I saw them at Coachella..I was getting all geared up for Bjork, so I just wasn't in the mood for their heavy stuff..But, I did like a few of their songs and the highlight was seeing Dave Grohl drumming away like the old days..That was sweet..I totally dig their new song though..It gets me all pumped up to do some damage..Grrr..:cool2::lol:;):D

I must admit they do have a catchy sounds here but i admit the bassist is freaking hot here, anyway dude why was the dude from foo fighters in that video? he aint part of the band is he cause at the end of the video it was a different person in it.

Kyuss was so much better.

Supergroups always dissappoint.

i agree, Kyuss is more metal, but Rated R is such a goooood album....its very impressive......if u guys like Queens Of The Stone Age i reccomend that you listen to a little something called Desert Sessions. its recordings from a few of the guys from QOTSA with PJ Harvey and i think Twiggy on bass...im not positive if he is in it though....but Desert Sessions 5 and 6 is a really really good album, i just bought 9 and 10 and it is nothing special....but yea....the DS series is just them jamming...its cool
