lomax - 1-31-2004 at 11:10 AM

u going to the 'nme awards show'? i am handing out stickers at that show.

let's talk turkey

KittyKitty - 1-31-2004 at 06:45 PM

ok, i don't think i've ever been more pissed off. Ima Robot have been stuck on my stereo for the last few months, i've gotten all my friends into the band and just today i found out to my astomishment that they are playing in the UK. So the 5th i can't go cos a friends band are playing at the Barfly. The 7th I can't go because it's the 2nd birthday party for my clubnight at Buffalo Bars. Bad enough that it's the same night as Rapture/Franz Ferdinand, now i'm missing Ima Robot as well.

Is there any chance they will be doing any other gigs in London??????? I can't cancel my clubnight and I'd feel so terrible missing my friends' bands gig at Barfly...

Are My Morning Jacket playing as well? Grrr, so out of touch. Their last album was lovely, so double bad luck I can't make this gig. As for Keane I saw them last week at the Arts Club and was knocked out by them. Well actually I feel asleep, I thought they were really dull.

It just seems unfair that by pure chance I checked the website and found out about the gig with no prior knowledge or expectations, only to get excited and then frustrated so shortly after. Well I'll just have to be patient until April then...

i didnt go last years gig, i only really got into ima when i heard song #1 on the radio, then i remebered i saw them suport blur! i wish i had payed more attention at the gig, and remeber myself saying 'these would be really good, if that lead singer stopped acting like a nobhead' but now i am totally the opposite, i love it! so no, no metro for me last year.

That bassist is a crazy monkey!!! Not loong now boys!

DylerPlummer - 2-4-2004 at 08:59 AM

Senior wasn't there on this night as he was ill in hospital and too be honest he wasn't missed.. Out of the six times i've seen 'em this was their best show..

Nicko - 2-4-2004 at 02:20 PM

My brother wud hate u, he luves junior senior, but honestly im not keen on them

lomax - 2-6-2004 at 06:20 AM

Junior Senior were 'crap' compared to Ima last night. Totally shown up. Ima had so much more energy and class. I thought JS were pretty poor though, apart from the last track. Keane were wicked, even though I only saw about 15 mins of them. Didnt stay for My Morning Jacket, were they any good?

Back to the Metro topic...

Athena - 2-6-2004 at 08:50 AM

YaY! I will be the american girl with huge curly hair in embarrassing my boyfriend by my non-stop jumping up and down! Been raving about the band since the Roxy show in L.A. It was quite disheartening to see they hadn't released the album in the UK yet. See you at the front!
...I'm gonna explode!

lomax - 2-6-2004 at 09:12 AM

Blimey oh Riley! Thats 5 boarders now! Me, :Mark:, Dyler, Mojojojo & Athena! aswell as all our buddies were taking! Its gonna be cool! I am shocked the albums not out over here yet aswell, it sucks, I want ALL my mates to love them!

Athena - 2-6-2004 at 09:33 AM

Every mate really that cums ova 2 my haus, usually gets a blast of Ima Robot 4 about 20 mins :)

:Mark: - 2-7-2004 at 04:25 PM

They were good tonight, I really like when Alex wrapped the mic wires round his neck and then couldn't get them off for a while! Got to meet JMJ and Ollie again, which was nice.

Overall a great show, also got to be sarcastic to senior of 'junior senior' by saying that I 'loved the album, man'. Also fuck Edith Bowman!

Peace
Mark

lomax - 2-8-2004 at 09:47 AM

Edith Bowman? What has she got to do with anything!?!?!?! Mark, were you that tall big guy with short hair trying to start a 'pit? or was that someone else!??!?

Also, where JS at the gig?

[Edited on 8-2-2004 by lomax]

:Mark: - 2-8-2004 at 11:25 AM

I was a tall guy with 'spectacles' needing a good haircut! JS were by the bar for the duration of Ima, and I spoke to senior so......

did you chat to the guys? Justin said '....oh I remember you' to me, hopefully in a good way!

Peace
Mark

:Mark: - 2-8-2004 at 11:25 AM

oh and edith bowman was by the bar too

lomax - 2-9-2004 at 03:06 AM

No, i just said thank you and good luck to Timmy. Didnt wanna seem like to much of a dork! He had a big smile and seemed very appreviative (I think he saw me singing along to every word! [even STD Dance!!!]). Thats cool that Bowman was there. Will have to get her to play some Ima on her show!!!

Why even say anything to him? I just hope he actually believed you and didn't think of you as a sarcastic bastard cuz that's just mean..You gotta give him a little break..He was at an Ima Robot show, right?? I just don't like rude people.. (My sister called me Miss Crankypants today, so excuse me if I come off bitchy..:saint: )

DylerPlummer - 2-10-2004 at 02:30 AM

Only Senior was at the show.. Apparantly he stayed in England just for the gig cos he's a huge fan.. like i said before when they were playing at the Astoria (and on that night they were just as good as ImaRobot) he name checked ImaRobot and called them great guys (he must have spotted them from the stage as they were walking up the stairs on the balcony as he said it).. A female friend of mine went up to him and chatted for quite a while. She was a bit tippsy and after talking to him for a while she said "You're so tall" and he replied "and you're so you" he gave her a a couple of big hugs and then had a couple photos taken with her (i'd better not post them as she'd kill me ha ha).. A very nice guy as well as a big ImaRobot fan..
