Athena - 2-7-2004 at 04:01 PM

OH YEAH!! Just got home from the show at the Metro!! Good Stuff as always!! Had me dancin'. Unfortunately this is the only photo of mine that really came out! Ack.:D

draconian - 2-7-2004 at 04:07 PM

Woo hoo! Did you guys like the live STD Dance or what?

Athena - 2-7-2004 at 04:14 PM

Oh yeah it was great. Quite fun. Kenny seemed a bit bored though with nothing to do for the beginning of the song and took the oppurtunity to have a quick smoke!!

poobs - 2-7-2004 at 05:28 PM

Timmy you mean? The guitar player, right?

DylerPlummer - 2-7-2004 at 06:04 PM

Yeah She meant Timmy..

DylerPlummer - 2-7-2004 at 06:25 PM

And not to be left out..

DylerPlummer - 2-7-2004 at 06:47 PM

It was an excellent gig and the crowd loved it.. There was 14 people in my company and the 9 people who hadn't seen 'em before loved it.. Night night.

:Mark: - 2-8-2004 at 02:36 AM

Just before they started Alex weeved his way through the crowd to get to the toilet, he was just about to walk past me when I pushed my hand into his chest, had to think about what I was going to say, then shook his hand and wished him luck, he must of thought 'what is this guy doing?' until I spoke.

Peace
Mark

mojojojo - 2-8-2004 at 03:37 AM

Hooray! It was an amazing gig. If anyone saw a girl with lots of clips in her hair right at the front being a sad obsessive fan then that was my good self..
Thought Dave Dulake and Virgo Intacta were quite good in an inane novelty sort of way.
Wahey!

lomax - 2-9-2004 at 03:10 AM

I think I saw Mojojojojo, were you the girl I spoke to early on when the doors weren't open? We didn't have a clue what was going on!? And then you were smoking on the door step?

and Anthena, did you boyfriend have a big beard? I was the guy singing behind you with the grey/black shirt. Recall?

mojojojo - 2-9-2004 at 03:24 AM

lomax: yep that was me, chaining as usual
I think I spoke to athena, if she was the one with black curly hair who started talking to the two other American girls I sort of followed around (since I was a lonerrr that night)..

lomax - 2-9-2004 at 03:27 AM

yeah. Alex kept touching you head, right?

mojojojo - 2-9-2004 at 03:31 AM

Yep, Not that I enjoyed that or anything.. :D:D:D

What did you look like? I talked to so many random people I can hardly remember..

xxx

lomax - 2-9-2004 at 03:43 AM

Big, Tall, brown 'Sparta' T-Shirt with a grey Shirt and jeans. I didnt speak to you inside, but if you are the person i am thinking of, you had short black spikey hair!?

lomax - 2-9-2004 at 03:45 AM

Oh, spoke to Dyler aswell. I think he video recorded most the show, untill the bloody big bastard got in the way! Chris, did you get alot of photo's/clips?

mojojojo - 2-9-2004 at 03:45 AM

Oh yeah, I remember, and indeed that was me.. What did you think of the support by the way?

xxx

lomax - 2-9-2004 at 03:49 AM

yep. The Dash were quite bad. And the other band were alright. Bit weird but catchy. Can't see either of them moving any mountains! u?

mojojojo - 2-9-2004 at 03:53 AM

Yeah I thought The Dash were really awful, Status Quo-ish, yeuugh. The other band were quite appealing in an odd sort of way, but I agree they both seem like the kind of bands destined to circle round London for ages and then fizzle out unnoticed. Oh well. Great gig though!

Hello Lomax yeah i did take loadsa photos and video most of it and yeah that lump did get in the way but he was only dancing so i mustn't complain.. I've just found the setlist from the Barfly and the only difference in the set was that Turkey was played between Alive and STD dance.. Here's the Barfly set list...

Athena - 2-10-2004 at 05:18 AM

It was a highlight of the evening to see Alex searching for the loo. He stopped briefly in front of the ladies toliet, contemplated the stick figure wearing a skirt, walked all the way to the back of the room, saw the men's room wasnt there either, and turned around to finally find it up front next to the stage. I was going to say hi, or at least point him in the right direction, but he seemed like a man on a mission. ;-)

Oh and yeah Mojo, that was me behind you. Admiring all your little hair clips and obscuring the stage view with my big curls (sorry lomax, hehe!) Yeh and that was my boyfriend with the long hair and beard. He had a great time for someone who had only heard me raving about the band but never really heard their music before. Was a great show!

lomax - 2-10-2004 at 05:53 AM

that setlist is pretty much the same as saturdays! how weird!

Athena - 2-10-2004 at 05:58 AM

Still wish I had been able to make it to *both* shows! I was to suprised to see how different the energy was at the Metro compared to the last time I saw the guys play.

What do you think, besides the obvious 10 songs in 30 minutes, did the set seem quite different on Saturday then on the Thursday night show?

lomax - 2-10-2004 at 10:04 AM

hell yeah! It was SOOOOOO different. The band actually seemed to enjoy Saturday, and the reaction Alex got after (*cough, cough*) AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWSSSSSSOOOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE!!! was brilliant!!! Plus, all the .Netters down the front singing must have been brill! I mean, Thursday was good (amazing in fact) but they didnt seem to really have the crowd behind them. Alex had to make superficial energy (car/amp stunt and falling over) to get going, whereas Saturday, the crowd blew them away. I am so proud I was part of it.

Ima.com site said they had pics up of Feb 7th show at Metro CHICAGO.....scared me for a sec there! thought I missed a secret headline show or something.

lomax - 2-11-2004 at 07:05 AM

yeah! Photos! Where the Metro photos on the main site the photos you took, Chris?

DylerPlummer - 2-11-2004 at 07:12 AM

Nope... Mine were a a lot better (well i think so) even though there are some good pics there..

Athena - 2-11-2004 at 07:21 AM

Yeah great shot!! Where can we see more?!!? I wish my photos had come out!

Standing on the drum kit seemed the thing to do at that show--looked fun.

I started to get worried that Alex wasn't going to be able to get out of the mic chord rats nest he created for himself. There was some extended detangling going on...

draconian - 2-11-2004 at 07:22 AM

Chris, if you send the pics to Phobiac he'll put them up in the Gallery for you.
