She’s plannin’ on faking her death
That’s my Chippewa baby doll
I was living on Beacon Hill
Somebody loves you too
Sometimes I get violent ill
Let me be somebody’s mistake tonight
Cold in a sweat when I beddie bye
She’s creepin’ in my head tonight
I’m a goner
With the piranhas
Approach with caution
We speak in Martian
She’s Shauna
Watch out piranha
Approach with caution
We speak in Martian
Girl and a boy
A venom gun
Oh oh oh ah oh
Loaded love
The desert sun
I’m on this planet
So are you
You say I can’t stand it
And it’s true
So zip up your love (like)
I said
Zip up the love (like)
I’m gonna wait you know
A one, two, three, four
Waiting you know
I want to be more
Waiting you know
A star’s (light) star’s (light)
Waiting for
A light now right now
I’m a goner
With the piranhas
Approach with caution
We speak in Martian
She’s Shauna
Watch out piranha
Approach with caution
We speak in Martian
Girl and a boy
A venom gun
Oh oh oh ah oh
Loaded love
The desert sun
Oh oh ah oh
Girl and a boy
And a venom gun
Oh oh oh ah oh
Loaded love
The burning sun
Venom gun
Load up
You aim for my head
But before you blow it up
We killed our hearts
Before we growed up
It’s all over
And it’s all over
Don’t stop
Let’s blast off before we burn up
It’s all over
And it’s all over
When we talk in the light of the (lawn)
It’s like nothing
Nothing
When we fuck we're a loaded gun
We abandon
We’re just a girl and a boy
Girl and a boy
A venom gun
Oh oh oh ooh ah oh
Loaded love
Desert sun
Oh oh oh ah oh
Girl and a boy
And a venom gun
Oh oh oh ooh ah oh
Loaded love
And the burning sun
Girl and a boy
And a venom gun
Oh oh oh ah oh
Loaded love
Loaded love
Loaded love

Quote:
When we (fought/fight/f*ck) (we’re) a loaded gun
I had to come verify this, and I see it's still a lil vague, but I swore I heard F*CK, and it's what I want to hear, so I'll stick with that. :D draconian - 7-15-2002 at 08:37 PM
I'm leaning towards that being the lyric, too.
What do you think about the next line, "we abandon?" I have no clue. "We are bad men?" Wha--?Neuwave - 7-17-2002 at 12:00 AM
Damn, I've just been sitting here listening to it thoroughly on my system, and it's definitely:
When we talk in the light of the (could've sworn he said "lord")
It’s like nothing
Nothing
When we fuck
we're a loaded gun
We abandon
A brilliant line.
I can't describe the emotion given off from this verse. It's exactly what I needed in my life right now. So weird how the most euphoric experiences in
life are so short.
draconian - 7-17-2002 at 12:35 PM
You think so, "light of the lord?" I like that better than "lawn," if that's the case.
Though it wasn't, at first, Loaded Love has slowly become one of my favorite songs. I prefer the faster of the two recordings, myself. It's more
spare and raw.Neuwave - 7-17-2002 at 09:15 PM

Yeah it's making more sense now too, because when you think about it. When the Sun is out, and you're exposed to the world you're inhibited, but when
you *ya know* you abandon all boundaries, and you're a loaded gun. I dunno that's just my interpretation. I could've used more metaphors, but I didn't
want to bore.:D

I'm slowly discovering other gems in the collection. I was listening on the way to work today.

The other sentiment that I love in this song is the sense of foreboding about this "Shauna" gal.
What a great name, don't know if she's real or not, but Shauna and Kendra (sorry Poobs) have always evoked the images of dangerous women for me.
You know where it might be coming from, wasn't that the name Ferris' sister gave the C****** S**** character at the end of Ferris Bueller's Day Off?poobs - 7-23-2002 at 12:23 PM
Kendra? Dangerous woman???You know it..Hahaaa!Anytime I've seen my name, it's been an african american person, so I just always think of the homeland
when I ponder my name..:D:Ddraconian - 7-23-2002 at 03:14 PM
Backstory: When I was a little, impressionable kid, we're talking 4 or 5, I had this neighbor named Kendra who was really mean. She had long blonde
hair and rode a bike with a BANANA SEAT and a RED FLAG on it. She would ride around the neighborhood on it, tormenting me. So I have always
associated the name Kendra with rebellious behavior!Neuwave - 7-23-2002 at 07:17 PM
I do remember this girl Shauna that my friend in High School went out with. She definitely had a psycho side(to him), but I remember her being pretty
cool to me. The only other Kendra I knew was in 4th grade in Inglewood. She was a black girl that I remember liking. She was cute, and the only reason
she would be mean was if I was messing with her. I definitely remember her keeping me in check sometimes. She was a fast runner too that sometimes I
couldn't get away, but don't get me wrong I was quick too, and I may have let her catch me occasionally.:Ddraconian - 7-23-2002 at 08:55 PM
Something better happen on this board quick or we're all going to hang out on the "Apples" lyrics thread and discuss the people we've known named
Spike and Tina!
I have mentioned this to Phobiac before, but when I'm singing that particular song, I have a chuckle over the thought that Spike and Tina are the lead
singer's parents.
p.s. Neuwave, what ever happened to Kendra?Neuwave - 7-23-2002 at 10:02 PM
I moved.seacaptain - 9-19-2002 at 02:24 PM
I've been wondering this for awhile, every time I hear the song. Where's this Beacon Hill he's referring to? There's a famous one here in
Boston...is the lyricist from there or something? Or is there another one? When are they going to play here?
VinPhobiac - 9-19-2002 at 04:00 PM
I also assume that it is the Boston location, as that is the only Beacon Hill that I know about. The only shows I know about are Los Angeles. I\'ll
tell the guys that there is a request for a live show from Beacon Hill.draconian - 9-20-2002 at 05:56 PM
Tell them we have five hundred signatures from angry Bostonians, that will be more persuasive. Vin, can you effect an intimidating grimace, at the
very least?seacaptain - 9-26-2002 at 10:43 AM
Yes, I can also get however many names you need.
They'll all be fake though, and I'll be the only one at the show...which will be fun for me.
Lyric controversy over!
draconian - 10-12-2002 at 01:29 PM
Finally we can put to rest the notion that Alex sings "When we fuck we're a loaded gun we are BAD CATS" in this song. Gavin, that was a seriously
twisted misinterpretation of the lyrics. It's "abandon," according to Alex himself (who also thought "bad cats" was totally out there).
Bad cats.
:ticking:poobs - 10-18-2002 at 01:13 PM
But "bad cats" is pretty damn funny, though..
food for thought
seacaptain - 1-8-2003 at 07:30 PM
I think it's "beddie-bye"... baby talk for bedtime.
Also "venom gun / load up" not "venom gun / hold up."
And might a lot of the "waiting you know"s be "waiting on"?draconian - 1-9-2003 at 06:03 PM
Edited with the estimable Seacaptain's revisions. All hail!

madeleine - 12-2-2003 at 02:13 PM
please i really really really want to hear this song (among others) ....anyone?anyone?draconian - 12-2-2003 at 03:48 PM
I know. It sucks. This stuff isn't circulating around, and the label would have our heads if it did...but for the L.Aers, I always thought it
would be s'wheat if Tim did a club gig with Alex or something and spun ALL the old demos in during the night...there has to be a use for them,
really they are too good to only be heard by the few people that have them.
Alex has said that the construction of them, musically, leaves a lot to be desired. But I think that originality and iconoclastic design is their
charm.RAV3N - 9-2-2007 at 07:12 PM
i tihnk it dosnt go like this
"So zip up your love (like) I said Zip up the love (like)"
I tihnk its its
"So Sip up the love (like) Acid Sip up the love (like)"Dynomite2140 - 8-2-2011 at 09:19 AM
I think RAV3N is correct cuz thats definitely what I hear.
I also think it's "We're the piranhas" instead of "with."
Kinda fits, actually. Saying that they're a loaded gun, being piranhas as well would fit nicely
