IMA Robot for snowboard-video

seven03 - 2-15-2004 at 12:20 PM

hey guys. i'll produce a snowboardvideo with young german riders which will be published all around the europeean alps this year. not a big thing, only about 2000 copies but we will produce it quite professional. we already made two videos the seasons before, but we wanna expand and make it available for more persons so we have to sell it in shops. not for much money, about 7 Dollard a piece but therefore we still need the rights for the music we play on the video.
i love that ima robot shit and i'm thinkin about to pick a song from them if possible. but it's a major label isn't it? do you think there's a chance to get the rights for a low price or maybe even for free from them?

Check out the following link to EMI Music Publishing:
EMI

There's plenty of info on how to go about obtaining rights there.

Getting rights to songs from bands can be a pain in the ass. The site draconian put up gives some good info, dont contact the band, contact the label. It took us sometimes months to get a reply from a label. We even got piles of papers to sign from the major labels to use their music. When I was in film class in highschool we ran into the problems all the time, we couldnt send our work into film festivals because the music was copyrighted.
