Sitting down infront of hot topic and they started playing Song #1 so we went in to walk around the store and it had to be the cd cause they played like 4 songs in a row..I was like yayyyyyyyy!! I know those guys!:D

See, I love Ima Robot and I know they need the exposure and all that, but I really DO NOT like Hot Topic. Its like $25 for really cool shirts that (of course) you cant find anywhere else. But I do think this is sign that they are taking off, cause once places like Hot Topic plays their music, that mean they are on their way to Good Charlotte status??? OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Oh well, but its still good for them....its awesome that they are being played there.
Anyhow, Peace peeps.

Yea it's pretty expensive their luckily my mom gets the hook ups there. She gets the 19.99 shirts for like 10 bucks which is pretty good. They have some really cool shirts that bring back so much memories strawberry short cakes and rainbow brite, i miss that shit

MichelleRene - 2-17-2004 at 07:27 AM

I love the styles and all at Hot Topic, but I have a couple of complaints about it....

1.) Over Priced! Everytime I've spent $25 on a novelty tee-shirt there, I notice when I get home that the decal is off center, and sewn poorly.
2.) The little 16 year old wanna-be's in there always give me dirty looks becuse I don't have died black hair! It's like atleast I was around when the Pistols were around...they weren't even born yet...hahahahaha:lol:

fiesty michelle:D .... i like it :saint:

sevenblur - 2-17-2004 at 07:28 PM

Michelle, you are completely right...its strange how much animosity these kids have against people that arent "dressed" like they are. I mean, I think that I am over the entire looking like I am dead look and I have to have a job to support myself so I could live, if I dont dress with Jnco and chains across my pants and have black painted nails it is mostly because I dont like the style anymore and I have evolved in what I wear now....
On top of that, the majority of these kids are rude as FUCK and they are just little snot nosed brats, I mean, all the clothing you wear was money that mommy gave you buy clothes, at least I pay for my own clothes.
I used to work at Borders in the mall and I HAD to run into these kids all the fucking time, and it sucked, but on occassion I have to admit some of them were very cute! I hit on a couple of 16/17 year old boys :o (BAD ME!!)
Anyhow...peace

MichelleRene - 2-18-2004 at 07:36 AM

Yeah, some of the little boys are very cute....but that's about as far as it goes. Unless you want your boyfriend making minimum wage til he's 45!

Yeah, why are they like that? They're all about "I'm so oppressed because of the way I look, and I get dirty looks because I have purple hair". But, they treat you the same way for looking the way you look. I went through hell in college because I majored in Commercial Art, and I was basically the only one with blond hair...everyone else looked like Robert Smith from the Cure. I love Robert Smith, but I don't want to look like him...yah know. The Art Institute kids are the worst! Such hipocrats!!!

I love the vampire look, but I'm so pale now, if I died my hair back to it's natural color I would look like Elvira! And not in a good way. Last year I had my hair flame red, but noone liked it, so I did it back to blond. And now I have the whole underneath dark brown and the top platinum....so, whoever doesn't dig it eat pooooooo!

I'm 34, and old enough to be their Mother, I take that back, older sister...hahahahaha:lol::lol::lol::lol:

:mad::lol:

TurtleEnterprises - 2-18-2004 at 09:37 AM

Didn't Ricki Rachtman used to own the Hot Topic chain? There's a red flag right there.:D But seriously, I can't believe that store has braved the elements. I remember back in my "post-teen-know-it-all-entrepreneurial" days. I produced these T-shirts with some art work I had did, and presented them to Hot Topic to distribute. I was only 19, and they wanted most of my profits. It was an experience to say the least. Boy oh boy the old Mall-Cruising days. What a tradition that was. Me, and my friends were regulars at the old Montclair Plaza in Southern Cali before they went all reconstruction. What hoodlums we were. Shoplifting, breaking into cars. (that's not funny, because I'd be pissed now if some lil teenage punks broke into my car, and stole my music CDs, and baggie of kind bud(we actually scored once in a nice Volkswagen 16V Scirocco-hey statute of limitations are expired aren't they? ). Thanks for the memory.:)

TurtleEnterprises - 2-19-2004 at 09:37 AM

Damnit Neuwave, I should have known that was you! You had to steal my KB and Frankie Goes to Hollywood CD's! Someone will be knocking on your door shortly.....

Ew...Riki Rachtman...Hot Topic was his idea. Yuk. I've only been to L.A. once when I was 19, and my cousin and I ventured to a club called the Cathouse (Rachtmans?), I had a fake ID. That place was nasty....we didn't stay very long. Poser city...the girls there were so mean.

Hood rat Hood rat Hoochie Momma!

I used to hang at the Whittwood mall every damn day after school..My friend and I would raid her dad's change jar, steal enough money for one large cinnabon and 2 Mochalottachills and for a few games of air hockey..Then we'd smoke a joint or two on the way down and hang..It paid off! We made friends with the people that worked at the arcade and with the security guards, so we never got into any trouble..Not like we would have anyways..;) So, yeah..I was a mallrat for sure..

DJAtticDragon - 2-19-2004 at 11:39 AM

Just be yourself girl, just be yourself. Shoot, all the posers in the world wanna be me. You might even see a store in your mall in the future with stuff for people who wannabe me....Nah...I don't really care... There are two types of people in this world, leaders and followers. Who you gonna be?

Peace! orwasitrobotsandnonrobots....
