that is like the coolest idea. i mean i suck at bowling, but that would be so much fun! why is st. louis so lucky? that's going to be a busy day for them.

inlimbo - 2-19-2004 at 08:12 PM

HAHA thank you for posting this - i have the funniest mental images

foxyhardcore - 2-20-2004 at 12:57 AM

{sigh}

the pin up bowl is a bit strange. it's pretty new, the drinks are alright, the bowling area is interesting. i believe it's another joe edwards project (fellow stl folks know what i'm talking about.)

my good friend from kc/lawrence called tonite. had nothing but good things to say about the sounds. i'm curious! why can't ima robot play the first week of april? fools. i'm attending a friend's wedding back home. (stereolab's playing that week, too....yeeeee!)

to all the kids who make it to the afterparty. mississippi nights is one of the older, creepier, dirtier, most wonderful venues in st louis. pure riverfront smelly/smoky adventure! i met mike patton there in 1990. yum. we fell in love and had 84 babies (so what if i was 12). please please please go!!! keep yr eyes peeled for beetle bob. that bastard stole two of my pens.

fun fun fun someone document this thanks.

Ah man! I'd love to go to that...that would be incredible!
I can't bowl worth a crap, but it's alot of fun after you drink a beer or two. I wish they could do something like that close to the east coast!!!!!

TurtleEnterprises - 2-20-2004 at 09:29 AM

Yea i can't bowl either they ball never goes where it should go, or stays in the right lane

MichelleRene - 2-20-2004 at 11:36 AM

esqfool - 2-27-2004 at 10:02 AM

I'll be at the bowling thingy if I win a spot on one of their teams. If not I've got a class I kind of have to go to in order to graduate. Anyway, I'll be at the St. Louis show for sure. I might skip class and go kick it with the 'Bot anyway that day. I met JMJ at the last show they had here and he was a genuinely nice guy so I'm sure they'd be cool to hang out with. I'll keep you posted if I win and about the show.

Athena - 2-27-2004 at 11:44 AM

Who ever ends up going to this... We want PICTURES!!! Also get a picture of the scores too! I suck at bowling, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing how good a bowler everyone is.

esqfool - 2-27-2004 at 05:55 PM

Good idea, even if I don't end up going, I'll try to get someone I know to go and take pictures of it. I would have totally gone and not taken my digital camera. Good idea. I'd have my roommate go since he loves the 'Bot too but he's gotta work.

Neuwave - 3-1-2004 at 01:01 PM

Man, there's no way they could do this in LA. It would pack the place.

TurtleEnterprises - 3-1-2004 at 03:04 PM

Your right Neu, they would never do that in LA ....Seriously that place would be super packed plus thered be tons of security.

ps. i hate when my back itches and i cant reach the spot:)

RoboticTerrorSTD - 3-2-2004 at 02:53 PM

so who won?

esqfool - 3-2-2004 at 10:26 PM

Sorry guys, I didn't win, nor did I go. I went to class only to find out it wasn't a big deal to miss anyway, but oh well.

TurtleEnterprises - 3-2-2004 at 10:32 PM

i wonder if anyone from the forums went.. hmm sounded like fun. The Strokes are doing a private bowling party soon to. I think it's private...

inlimbo - 3-3-2004 at 08:25 AM

someone on the kh board posted taht they would be bowling with Ima Robot...

glamcore - 3-4-2004 at 01:54 PM

My friend went, but half of ima was at a local radio station!

I hate beetle bob. He thinks he's hot stuff because he gets to meet all the rockstars so he pushes out the little fans like me. My friends and I renamed ourselves the Beetle Trio because we're more deserving and nicer! ima liked us more than beetle bob, anyway. take that old man!

poobs - 3-4-2004 at 01:56 PM

Who's Beetle Bob? What did your friend think of the whole affair?

esqfool - 3-4-2004 at 01:59 PM

Beetle Bob is gonna upset me at a concert and magically get swept into the pit. If he shows up at the Distillers show next month at Pop's he done with. Anyone who's familiar with Beetle Bob, what the fuck does he do for a job? does he pay for the concerts? I know he's a klepto but no one else I know has heard anything.

poobs - 3-4-2004 at 02:01 PM

Ok..But who is he??:o:duh:

esqfool - 3-4-2004 at 02:10 PM

He's some dude who's probably at least mid 40's with a Beatle's haircut, the mop top they all had at one point. He just shows up everywhere at shows and I don't think ever pays. He wears suits and shit like the Beatle's. He forces his way to the front and effectively clears out like a 5 foot radius b/c of all his dancing and kicking. Amusing at first but after a while you wanna just body slam him. He acts like he's royalty for being a weirdo. The guy has gotta have like 0 hearing left from so many shows. I think I once read he hadn't missed a show in like 4 or 5 years, so a show every single day for that long.

poobs - 3-4-2004 at 02:20 PM

Hhaaahahaa! So he's like a staple at all of these shows? That's crazy..Has anyone tried to push him out of the way?

esqfool - 3-4-2004 at 06:18 PM

He's a staple at like everything, especially any free concert or cheap one. I went to a concert this weekend, Galacticw/ Mike Doughty of Soul Coughing fame for those who care, and he was there too. He's just a St. Louis legend. No one knows shit about him other than he's a klepto.

glamcore - 3-4-2004 at 06:52 PM

Yeah. Everyone wonders what he does. He had a VIP pass at ima robot AND he was talking on a cell phone!? We didn't think he owned anything but those damn suits. He was cool at first but I got tired of seeing him absolutely everywhere. It's like he's the center of attention and always gets to talk to the rockstars and sing with them and be special. I wonder if he actually has heard most of the bands he dances for.

poobs - 3-4-2004 at 07:27 PM

That's pretty funny when you think about it though..

TurtleEnterprises - 3-4-2004 at 08:44 PM

is beetle bob the most exciting thing you guys got going on down in St. Louis?... Seriously though that is pretty funny

glamcore - 3-5-2004 at 03:56 AM

i'll hesitantly say yes. haha

MichelleRene - 3-5-2004 at 09:12 AM

I looked up Beetle Bob under the Google search engine and "Ladies...I've found a picture of Beetle Bob"

Oooooooh sooooooo sexxy! :lol::lol::lol::lol:

TurtleEnterprises - 3-5-2004 at 09:33 AM

MichelleRene - 3-5-2004 at 09:53 AM

poobs - 3-5-2004 at 11:03 AM
