This topic has been all over The Velvet Rope in the last few months, but word comes today that Roy Lott is no longer going to be helming Virgin
Records (Ima Robot's label).
I think they were signed by Matt Serletic, right? Hopefully the shakeup doesn't affect the band adversely.
Surely The Bot have done everything the label wanted, it's hard to see them getting booted for no reason.
*unsure* Right?lomax - 2-24-2004 at 06:54 AM
They are good enough to stay on Virgin, they signed Sleepy Jackson for fucks sake!MichelleRene - 2-24-2004 at 07:00 AM

Uhhh, good enough to be on Virgin? Don't you mean good enough NOT to be on Virgin anymore, and still be just fine? I wish they'd start
their own label, or just self-release. We should start a fund. Ohhhhhh, I said self-release. (Drac)MichelleRene - 2-24-2004 at 03:54 PM

Yo,
Nobody need trip on Virgin. That news about Roy Lott is about 4 months old....Roy is in fact still there, he just has a more finance/legal oriented
position now. Randy Miller, the new general manager, and is DOWN for IMAR, as is every other motherfucker over there. They are cool as shit;
honestly. There is no better major label for IMAR right now. We'll see how they do with this Alive business, but the team is on point, and
we like them a lot.
Otherwise, I just wanted to use this opportunity to say hello to all the .netters!!! Tour is going nicely. Kids are great, etc. etc. Hope to
see more of you hardcore out there. Oh by the way, Draconian, sorry I missed you in Minneapolis! Shoot. I went to go eat, and none of the guys
told me you were in the hizzy! Silly boyz.
By the way, all those photos that are supposed to go up on .com from the tour are on the way; there were server problems that have now been handled.
I'm the one taking most of those and uploading them every night, so I'll try to get several up every evening, which will usually appear
the next day. Kind of fun, hopefully there will be some candid fun in there, so enjoy.
Lots of love!

Ain't he! Always taking the time to keep us posted. Too cool.
Thanks Justin, everyone over here appreciates the info tremendously.
All us L.A. folk can't wait for the next explosive L.A. gig at the El Rey. Henry Fonda was off the hook and I'm sure you guys have some
tricks up your sleeves to escalate the pandemonium at the Henry Fonda show.
Good to hear everything with the bot and Virgin is in good shape. poobs - 2-24-2004 at 11:30 PM

Like maybe I'm Your Bitch? Or Sine Your Life?? I'm dying to hear The Beat Goes On too! draconian - 2-25-2004 at 10:07 AM
That is a relief re: the label...too many horror stories about bands signed in the middle of a shakeup and becoming casualities of chaos. Very very
good to hear that everything is cool on that front!
Yes, thanks for checking in, JMJ, and especially thanks for getting those tour photos up on .com--sorry to have missed you in Minneapolis but next
time Phobiac and I will definitely corral you for a tableau-style photo in the absurdist .net tradition. Looking forward to some more tour journals
from the guys as well.TurtleEnterprises - 2-25-2004 at 01:49 PM
Justin if you read this again please do "the beat goes on" at the El Rey it would be greatly appreciated thanks

No Way I didn't mean it that way. I've done MAJOR stupid shit. The very first time I saw Beck & Justin live was Santa Fe Docks Summer
96(i think), and totally yelled out track #2 like a dork (I do that under certain chemical imbalances ), because I didn't know what the name of the track was, but it was my favorite, and later I found out it was
Hotwax featuring none other than the Enchanted Wizard of Rhythm Ross Angeles. Damn I hope I got those credits right. :D

I know what you mean Neuwave...
I'm a dork too. Especially when it comes to wearing 6" platforms to the Bot show this past Wednesday, and trying to get up closer only to
find there is an imaginary step in front of me that I trip over and almost fall down (I had to laugh at myself for being such a geek)......luckily
Nurzetrev was there to laugh at me too...thanks Trev.....but this is usually what happens every time I go out....maybe it was too much of the lipstick
bowl in the bathroom , or the beer in my hand.
It's funny how you know all the words to the songs until you get there and you have a little buzzz....so I started making up my own words....TurtleEnterprises - 2-29-2004 at 09:25 AM
do you remember any of the words you were making up ? crazy Michelle, good
