Buy some George Bush campaign clothing and support sweat shops

Seb - 3-20-2004 at 10:27 AM

I got this from another forum I often go to

check this out:

The official merchandise website for President George W. Bush's
re-election campaign (www.georgewbushstore.com) sells fleece
pullovers that were made in Burma.

Why is this interesting?

Well, goods made in Burma were banned from the U.S. by the Bush
administration to punish their military dictatorship.

What's even more interesting is that violators of the import ban
are subject to fines and jail, according to the U.S. Treasury
Department. It's reported that Burmese textile workers earn as
little as 7 cents per hour, according to human rights group
"National Labor Committee."

lurker - 3-23-2004 at 06:14 PM

i am lost in politics, so i dont really try to understand it
and the media doesnt help either

poobs - 3-23-2004 at 06:19 PM

The media really doesn't help..I'm not that into politics, but I know what I don't agree with and I happen to agree with Bush on many things..I disagree with many things as well..You can't please all the people all the time, right?

lurker - 3-23-2004 at 06:42 PM

the war doesnt really affect me because im too young, i guess
right now i dont really care...
...but i think bush isnt a graet speaker...just my opinion...

poobs - 3-23-2004 at 06:55 PM

I think he's alright as a speaker..He lacks in other areas more though..:(

happysmilely - 3-23-2004 at 08:25 PM

Do not trust your media for political consultation! Bad idea

avw86 - 3-23-2004 at 08:32 PM

I can't stand Bush...but I won't go into all the reasons why

I hope Kerry wins the election...

I hate talking politics!

MichelleRene - 3-24-2004 at 06:17 AM

I don't want to piss anyone off---so I normally don't talk politics with aquaintance friends. But this is my take:

Poobs---funny how you and I are such pervs on the internet, but both pretty much conservatives.

I definitely do not like John Kerry! He's been lying about many things within his background, that I won't go into because I don't want to offend anyone. I've been keeping a very close eye on this issue, and hope that he does not get elected. I think people here in the states are concerned with the issues over seas....but, if Kerry gets in there be prepared for laxed security here and abroad and higher taxes. Kerry is scarey. Did you know his real last name was changed to Kerry and his wife is a millionairess to the Heinz ketchup company? He has 5 multi-million dollar homes? So don't believe him when he says he wants to help us poor working (middle) class folk----God help us if Hillary gets in there somehow! She'd probably get knocked off before that ever happens....

I'm not saying Bush has pleased all of the people all of the time....but I definitely will be voting for him this election. I really can't say much more about the whole Lib outlook---like I said I don't want to offend anyone. But if the Dems get in, life as we know it is only going to get worse. :o

Do you guys really want a socialist country like they have in Europe? Or worse yet, anarchy?

poobs - 3-24-2004 at 08:28 AM

:wow: I never would have thought you conservative, Michelle!! Yay!

See, I don't follow politics much..I had no idea about his wife!! That's pretty funny..I liked Clark..I think if he had won the nom and was elected (although I doubt that would have happened), I wouldn't have minded so much..I liked Clark..But Kerry? No way.. We'll just have to see after we vote and get our word out there!

It's so odd that politics is such a touchy subject for people..My ex and I fought over Bush (not mine, the president..HEYOOO!!) all the time..He HATED him, but with not much of a good reason..I kept saying to agree to disagree, cuz he wasnt going to change my mind..He kept on..He's now just another notch on my bedpost..NOthing more..:P:lol::lol:

Seb - 3-24-2004 at 08:47 AM

I find that alot of people get really emotional when they talk about politics with me, especially if its someone that is a right winger, but I get along with them fine. I didnt really follow the democratic primary so I dont know much on where Kerry stands. I do hate Bush though, then again I am a pot smoking, gay loving, beer drinking, tree hugging Canadian so I pretty much appose everything he stands for. I could go into the reasons I would hate him and would never vote for him if I were a US citizen because I tend to piss people off when I talk about politics.

:lol::lol: I know talking about this subject is such a downer....cause I still like people no matter what their opinions are on it. And it's silly to not like someone because of their religion, lack there of, or political views.....and everyone has different thoughts on all these subjects.....I smoke doob too----so I guess I am not a total conservative. I believe people should do, say, feel what they want. That's what is so great about being alive. The thing that really sucks is that there will never be a perfect president with the perfect morals and political agenda.

Dude..Seriously..You have to vote for who you think is the lesser of two (or three counting Nader) evils..Until we get a woman in there, we're going to have to deal with a crook, from any party!

I totally agree, I really think unless a big change suddenly happens (doubt it  ) it's unfortunately going to be like that for a long time. It always is the lesser of the evils for me.
*thats about as far as I'll go politically on a message board  *

 Yea, agree. one has to elect the one who sucks the least.

I would like to keep myself out of this discussion, I'm european anyway. Just this: I do not at all approve the thoughts and deeds of George W. Don't you hate me for that.

poobs - 3-24-2004 at 03:36 PM

Ha! No one is going to hate you for your opinions!! :D *cough* asshole *cough*
