I'm going for a Marketing degree..I will be the next marketing wiz-kid, folks! :D

RiffRaff - 3-21-2004 at 12:37 PM

I teach SAT prep classes and I'm finishing up my final year of grad school at UCLA. I'm getting my MA in critical film studies...

poobs - 3-21-2004 at 12:43 PM

RiffRaff = Mr. Smartypants :D

avw86 - 3-21-2004 at 12:47 PM

I'm an unemployed high school senior. I really need to find a job, especially if I want to go to a 4 year college (damn you, CA budget cuts!)

seacaptain - 3-21-2004 at 01:03 PM

Right now, first year law student

Used to be a web producer

sevenblur - 3-21-2004 at 01:10 PM

Last semester getting my BA in Psychology and work as a Research Interviewer for the Research department at my school. I get to ask underage girls (that are at risk kids), questions like, "Do you like Wild and Freaky Sex?" and other very personal questions. Next stop is hopefully grad school in NYC somewhere.

nurzetrev - 3-21-2004 at 01:15 PM

I'm a fulltime housewife selling moition activated ken dolls with donkey
heads back to the poor people who make them...back to you barbie!

 Just kidding, I currently provide transportation to the Rich the poor, the terminally schizophrenic and insane and yupsters from here to prepsville.
last night I sang Pat Benatar 'heartbreaker' with some rocker chick and her boy and the first trip of the night I had to remove someone from the car because they were so wasted they started losing it on me when they didn't know where they were going...ups n downers, but can be a blast.

It's kind of my 'shock corridor' (old b/w movie about a journalist who feins
insanity to be admitted to a mental ward to get a story, only to become one
of the insane himself...it's amazing, go rent it and it'll get you high).
I'd like to write a screenplay at some point about some of my adventures...
I've been writing a good bit on and off, influenced by a column I read often in the SF weekly called "the night cabbie"...really fascinating and the payoffs sometimes are grand

Noisemonster - 3-21-2004 at 01:26 PM

Eye physician
Two more weeks to go, then I'll start working (just finished university last november)! I'm already a little excited...

draconian - 3-21-2004 at 02:31 PM

Med student, year two. Excited to start rotations in June. Not excited about taking Step One of the boards. Excited to finally get to palpate some prostates again. For some reason, that's been my favorite part of med school up until now. I can't diagnose an ear infection for beans, but I sure can tell if you've got something going on rectally.

Wow, I think the men on this site should be really friendly to Drac, you never when he can lend a hand...or a finger (whatever the situation may be).

RoboticTerrorSTD - 3-21-2004 at 03:52 PM

housewife.........I cook, clean, wash and sew......oh yeah :D (i'm married to the house, i've been unemployed for 4 months)
But, as of next week I'll be tutoring youngsters and helping them with homework @ a Sport Center.
As for my schooling that's just a sad, pathetic story, but I plan to start in June. I can't decide what to focus on; botany, pharmacist (like my dad) or maybe I should just go for R.N.
....i'm only 18 i still have time

I graduated from highschool last year and took business administration at college last semester but it was the most boring thing I have ever taken. I am taking this semester off to figure stuff out. I am on the waiting list to another college for broadcasting(I will be focusing mostly on film). I work at my dads office now and then and I am applying at a local bike shop to be a mechanic.

ART1SSS - 3-21-2004 at 05:58 PM

Well...I have AA degree in graphic design...but I haven't found a job in that field yet. Instead...I work at a nursing center for the elderly. I work as a data-entry personel in medical records.

Hey Draconian!!!...once you finish med school and become a doctor of some sort. Try practicing at our facility the nurses will kiss the ground you walk on. Doctors are treated like royalty around my neck of the woods.

But don't abuse that power...cuz I'm fo' sure the nurses would talk all kinds of shit behind your back if you were to work at my place.

=MARV=

poobs - 3-21-2004 at 06:07 PM

ART1SSS is the next Calvin Klein with his awsome designs..(That kinda rhymed!!)

avw86 - 3-22-2004 at 01:16 AM

Is anyone majoring in communications?

I'm thinking of pursuing music journalism in college, but I'm not sure if I should major in communications and minor in journalism, or vice versa? I'm definitely taking a music appreciation course :) And it'd be cool if I could get a gig on a college radio station ;) It'd be a ton of Ima Robot on my show, that's for sure! :D

Phobiac - 3-22-2004 at 03:17 AM

I work in product planning and market research for a major automobile company. Specifically, I manage the Competitive Intelligence group. I also travel to Japan too much.

I'll be keeping my rectum away from draconian's fingers...thank you.

poobs - 3-22-2004 at 07:56 AM

That's not what she told me..Heyooo!!! :D

MichelleRene - 3-22-2004 at 10:16 AM

Well...I have an AA Degree in Commercial Art, worked at many local newspapers as an ad designer and one as an office manager. Can you believe that one? I am now watching my 2 year old neice until she's old enough to go to private school. My brother and sister-in-law make great money----but work all week. I also sell vintage clothing on Ebay---but have been slacking recently.

RoboticTerrorSTD - 3-22-2004 at 10:35 AM

I also bake alot but i've never gotten paid, it's all good though I love doin' it.

I'm a stage manager for theatre. So when Ima Robot decides to to their big-budget rock musical extravaganza ala Tommy and the stage theatrics of Spinal Tap, I'm definately submitting my resume. Then I can call the cues for the insane laser lighting, revolving stage, and for the giant robot statue to fly in during the intro to Here Come the Bombs!:cool::yes::yes:

MichelleRene - 3-22-2004 at 11:29 AM

:lol::lol::lol::lol:that would be hilarious!

poobs - 3-22-2004 at 11:35 AM

I'm hoping I won't be jobless for long! This record store I've been wanting to get into just put up a sign for part time cashiers!! That's what I need! And it's a pretty sweet store! I felt bad picking up an app when I look the way I do at the moment, but I'll be all prettied up to turn it in tomorrow..:D

You guys have such interesting occupations!! :D

Scream - 3-22-2004 at 12:13 PM

I am a defense attorney specializing in criminal appeals. My latest case is a death penalty appeal with 3,000 pages of transcripts. The witnesses testified that my client opened fire on some people at a large meeting, killing two & injuring others before he was wrestled to the ground. They say he had an assault rifle, 3 handguns, and 350 rounds of ammo on his person, with more guns and another 350 rounds in his truck outside.

My next case is another murder stemming from a drug deal gone bad – 1,400 pages of transcripts.

All in all, right now I’d rather be a roadie for the ‘bots!
:D

poobs - 3-22-2004 at 12:16 PM

Are you kidding me?? That's intense!! Aren't you ever afraid of those people?? :( So how do you appeal for someone who has all that evidence against him? :ticking:

Fortunately, the potentially scary ones are locked up pretty tightly. And I’ve been much more vigilant since the one time a client assaulted me!

Quote:

Well, I can only work with what’s there. But when it’s a death penalty case, all sorts of things are thrown into the mix, and it can become very complicated.

And music is a great escape from all that!
:D

poobs - 3-23-2004 at 10:22 AM

Man..You were assaulted?? That's craziness!! Well, good luck with that..sounds like a stressful job..Have you ever had anyone that you really believed was innocent, but was denied an appeal??

happysmilely - 3-23-2004 at 01:08 PM

I would be a student as well. Will get some kind of job soon. but right now I'm taking extra classes....

happysmilely - 3-23-2004 at 03:04 PM

Ha ha, yeah we'll I have 2 things I have been obsessed with ever scene I could remember, music and photography. So it was kinda inevitable I would be interested in a career doing them.
I also have had a strange obsession with paper and writing utensils.

Both film and photography are expensive, but luckily companies are selling cheaper after market lenses(kenko), tapes, etc... Heres a useless and funny story(has something to do with filming). Me and some friend were filming a movie for a film festival one time and we left the camera case infront of a car. Someone started to drive off, we thought the camera was still inside the case. Lucky someone took the camera out but didnt tell us. We were damn lucky beause we were using our schools good camera(Canon XL1) and if it broke it would cost us around 5 grand to get a new one. The camera case was toast though, our teacher didnt even notice it though...haha

happysmilely - 3-24-2004 at 07:00 AM

 lucky!

lurker - 3-24-2004 at 07:47 PM

damn Seb, you be lucky:)

Seb - 3-25-2004 at 02:08 PM

haha, ya I know, we were REALLY lucky. One of the guys we were filming with was the one who was driving, he got into his truck and flored it, for about 150FT all you saw were sparks flying out from under the truck(it was a metal pellican case) it was hilarious.
