This self titled album is the debut album from LA pop/punk art rockers IMA Robot. The band comprises of singer Alex Ebert, the ex rhythm section from Beck’s band - drummer Joey Waronker and bassist Justin Medal Johnson, guitar wizard Tim Anderson and keyboardist Oliver Goldstein.

Ima Robot's music is an elusive mix of pure pop song sense, punk explosiveness and art-rock aesthetics. Imagine crossing Suede's Brett Anderson with Devo, Bowie and Johnny Rotten, and you may be close to comprehending this emerging band. Ima Robot takes the best elements of glam, punk and ‘80s music, chews it up and has lead Alex Ebert (a star!) spit it back out in an irresistible mix.

The band have been busy building a huge following on the west coast of America over the last couple of years and are now beginning to spread their gospel across the whole the US and beyond. The handful of shows they’ve played in the UK have revealed them to be an explosive live band. Catch them on the Von Bondies tour!

DylerPlummer - 3-24-2004 at 10:20 AM

Just looked in the music papers and it's billed as Von Bondies and a band called Kasabian.. So it must be a mistake... (i hope ity is)..

DylerPlummer - 3-25-2004 at 10:26 AM

I still don't know.. it's only billed as the Von Bondies and Kasabian.. but i made a few calls to a man who knows a man who knows a man who knows a man and he say's it's deffo on but it'll mean cancelling dates on the MTV campus invasion thing..

poobs - 3-25-2004 at 10:28 AM

Hmm..I wonder which one would give them more exposure? I would think the MTV one, but I could be wrong..:ticking:

MichelleRene - 3-25-2004 at 10:29 AM

Wow! I guess that means there's no chance of them playing with Dirty Ho --that dirty ho! Damnit!

I guess it's probably no fun on the Campus Invasion tour anyway...Poopstank and Lost Prophets...ick! Plus their album is coming out in the UK and they need to support it. Are you going to cancel your trip to the states Dyler?
