Old People Should Not Drive!!

poobs - 5-14-2004 at 10:59 AM

So I went to Costco to order Brody's cake for his party on Sunday and I picked up a little ready made salad thing..I'm driving home, dancing in the car to the Bot, and some old guy pulls out RIGHT in front of me!! then he slams on HIS brakes!!!! So of course I slam my brakes and my salad zoomed off my front seat..That little old geezer is so lucky it didn't open all over my car..Why are they allowed on the road??? Bastards.. And now I feel better..:lol::lol:

RoboticTerrorSTD - 5-14-2004 at 11:06 AM

damn old people and they're shitty driving, or slow driving, or switching lanes cause they can't remember if it's a left on this street or the next street to get back home driving. :duh: I think past the age of 55/60 or so they should have to take a driving test EVERY YEAR if they want to continue driving damnit......and yes i think this should apply to me by the time i'm 60-ish

Dude..My gramma was so stubborn about wanting to drive..It wasn't until she hit a parked Lexus and the police took her license away that she stopped..Oi..She was years overdue..But what can you do? I understand that it takes away so much of their freedom, but screw it!! I wonder what the stats are on accidents caused by old people..:duh:

Speaking of accidents, did anyone see ER last night?? Holy crap..

RoboticTerrorSTD - 5-14-2004 at 12:17 PM

I think it's funny for anyone to hit a parked car!
I didn't see ER what happened? I don't have tv anymore, sadly no more idiot box for me. The only episode of ER i remember seeing was the one where this old lady hit a dog and a kid??? or just the dog??? and she didn't remember what she hit??? oh well i guess i don't really remember it now do i? :D

:lol: Not as funny as when she pulled into my driveway and kept on driving right into the garage door..:lol::lol::lol::lol:

No..ER was crazy..The hottie Dr. Kovach stopped to help a lady whos car was broken down and she was standing in back of it getting her cables out, and Dr. Kovach went to get his and this car came and rammed into the car in back of her, which caused it to slam into her..So she was pinned between the cars basically just at her legs and they were dripping blood and stuff..It was nasty..:( She ended up losing both of her legs..:o

" Not as funny as when she pulled into my driveway and kept on driving right into the garage door.. ":lol::lol::lol: ....priceless

:o  oh my lordy.....i should've watched er when i had the chance. That's so sick, imagine.... how terrible it must be to be pinned like that I think i'd pass out right away.

She was awake! And her son was in the car! He was unconscious, though..ER is such a great show..It makes me cry every single time I watch it!! Oi..Last week was one of the worst ones..Dr. Carter and his woman had to go to the hospital cuz she hadn't felt the baby kick inside of her for a day or so..So they go in and the baby was dead inside of her! She still had to give birth!! Oh man..It was so heart wrenching..And she didn't want to see the baby and then he finally convinced her to cuz they were going to take the baby away..It was so sad..I think the worst part was when he went into the waiting room or whatever and his dad (Steven Keaten from Family Ties) walks in and he just like falls into him sobbing..Oh crap..I was crying for hours..:( How can you handle not having a tv?? It's ridiculous, but I would die..Not that I watch it all the time, but I have a few shows that I'm addicted to..:D

That is so sad.....that's probably one of my biggest fears...problems with pregnancy. I always think that later on when I have kids, something like that is going to happen, the baby dying inside me, or me dying while giving birth, because I wanna get to see my baby grow up. The whole pregnancy ordeal, in movies or shows is what gets my eyes a little leaky i feel so bad for the 'would' be mommies.

.....ah but about tv, i manage only because i still have access to south park, adult swim and i have lots of dvds :D

poobs - 5-14-2004 at 01:26 PM

Oh man..I was so worried during my pregnancy..There are so many things that can go wrong! My doctor was so awesome, though..I was named after his daughter..Yes..He was my mom's ob/gyn with most of us kids, too!! :wow::lol::lol: I actually had some complications during my contractions..His head was at a funky angle so when I would contract, he wasn't getting enough oxygen and his heart rate would go down..They didn't tell me right away cuz they wanted to monitor it..They even injected something in my iv that knocked me the fuck out for a while..Ha! I freaked when they told me..I had to have an emergency cesarian..Ick..Luckily, when Brody was born he was absolutely perfect!! Well, except for his little Yoda ears that stuck out a bit..:o He got that from his dad..But, they're perfect now, so that's alright..;):D

RoboticTerrorSTD - 5-14-2004 at 02:03 PM

:D wow the same ob/gyn , that's pretty cool, really got to know your doctor. Whenever i've gone it's always been a different docotr, grabbing my stuff, i hate going it sickens me. barf!
Is it true that when you're having a cesarian section you can still feel the baby coming out (being removed)? :o

avw86 - 5-14-2004 at 02:38 PM

I was driving to school yesterday and this old man was in front of me. It was a 25 mph zone, and he was going about 15! I was 5 minutes late to school :(. If I'm tardy one more time, I have to serve a detention!

poobs - 5-14-2004 at 02:40 PM

 You feel a tugging when they're cutting you open and then you can feel something funky happen when they're taking the baby out..Kinda like they're pulling on you a bit..I couldn't see anything though..They had a thing in front of me and didn't want me looking around or I might get pukey.. Jeremy watched it..And he laughed..:lol::lol:

Yeah..Dr. Kenneth Purdom..He was awesome..He even took me as a patient even though I didn't have insurance..He never charged me a penny..I guess looking into my coochie and feeling my boobies was enough of a payment for him..:saint::D

ER was good last night, now onto the topic of old people driving, my grandpa is the WORST driver. I don't know if any of you have hard of the road that goes from Vancouver to Whistler, The Sea to Sky Highway. Well, My gradpa was driving home at around 6, he woke up at 4, and drove to Whistler to hike. Well on the sea to sky, he fell asleep. His Jeep skammed into the cement thing that prevents people from driving off the cliff into the ocea, jumped of the devider, slammed into the cliffside and flipped a couple of times. Hew as fine, only a bruise on his head, but the car was totaled and no one else hurt of even involved. Another time when I was in the car with him driving home he almost drove off one of those wooden bridges on back roads, the ones that have no guard rails, that was fucking freaky. The thing is, he thinks hes drives perfectly fine and when ever he gets into an accident or anything elss happends to him(you have no idea what hes done) he just laughs about it and thinks it is funny...

RoboticTerrorSTD - 5-14-2004 at 02:51 PM

That's crazy (cesarian sections) as long as Brody came out okay with his little yoda ears that went away.:)

ha haa "I guess looking into my coochie and feeling my boobies was enough of a payment for him.."
coochie and boobies must be 2 of the funniest words out there

and AVW86, what's up!
you should've managed to get in front of him, stop your car get out, walk to his window do this  and the give him a little slap. Then said "I don't see a sign here anywhere that says 'speed limit 15mph' " and then taken off :D

nurzetrev - 5-16-2004 at 11:56 PM

just going off the theme of the thread alone...makes me think of the ol' portrait of insane ol' man who most definately should not be behind the wheel...sporting slacks, suit coat, baseball cap, and glasses thicker than an iceberg...you see 'him' a lot in LA on the street...he is potentially blind and should have his own jibberish show on TV...what channel I'm not sure, but
some gung ho kids will figgur' that out...he does crack me up though...and he has a lust for life...so he can't be all that bad...just don't drive captain kooky...

I remember many a time waching ol' ladies veer lane to lane at about 10 mph on Santa monica...just out of their f'n minds barely able to stop at stoplights...what are you doing??? isn't there a fire hydrant you should be consoling???:lol::lol:
