Bad Italian Blog Translation (Review)

draconian - 5-20-2004 at 04:49 PM

I believe this is a review from the Ima Robot Milan gig with the Von Bondies. Here's the translation, from indiejunkies:

von bondies + IMA robot @ transilvania 12/05/04

magicpie

"the von bondies they are of the cagoni that if pulls it

the von bondies they are borings

the von bondies they only play ¾ d?ora that me they seem 2 hours because to a sure point does not pass to me just more

the von bondies they mistake l?attacco dell?unica famous song that they have, let alone only song they that it appeals to to me

to a sure point also we have thought to go some to us to house before the aim...

then but we have seen piero pelù between the public and from the that moment all he has been esilarante!

c?erano also the roberta (sgrunt) and l?alberto of the verdena, than if it were some to bersi beer with the nonyoung person? 10 points for this behavior disdicevole.

the IMA robot instead are most likeable.

if they do not pull it, they are stopped to speak, they say thanks and they completed the years.

alex physicist is prettiest not in the sense pure (that is, not only at least), is just one personcina to way. and it is crazy. and even if l?acustica of the transilvania was atrocious and it had some problem of voice, they are resolutions however to create a being involved and energetic show, and the public was decidedly more partecipe during their live rather than during that one of the flat von bondies.

it has been a beautiful evening, and is ended all so taken that to one of night we were already to house."

and...in the comments of the blog, this:

"Concert that comes opened from mine pupilli IMA Robot, main attraction for good a 90% of the indiejunkies present to the Transilvania. Little before the beginning I had intercrossed Alex Ebert, the frontman: for how much its is also he to way a lot cool becomes account to disfigure of forehead to the sensei of the coolness of Detroit and cordial person demonstrates itself one, likeable and available. E' more moved he than me, in how much nobody had perceived it that in Italy someone knew it and quite had recensito its disc before the official escape. If it goes some for some minute in order to try of "fix his fucked up voice", and little after it will discover that circumstance phrase was not one.

When they attack first notes of Let' s talk turkey the premises it is still seed-empty and it is a sin, why the IMA Robot are of the pazzoidi with one great scenica presence and pieces to the fulmicotone. I notice immediately that the volume of the guitar is highest, and when I feel the fucked up voice of Alex (that it is tanned like a personage of Velvet Goldmine, between the other) I understand why. E' the only defect of their short set, than for the rest bond confirmation how much had left to intuire in the debut disc. My new friend gattona, lecca the pavement, eats the tracklist and plays with the little present ones, between which he detaches one esaltatissima tizia of the Von Bondies. One of the two, you do not ask which... task to me the amichetta for Jack White. To the term of the trentacinque tiny granted to he and to its associates wants to feel them to it in an other place and in an other circumstance it is highest."

I can almost hear a fat italian man named Mauricio reading this to me.... :P

Hee hee, the funny thing is, I bet the Italians really got Alex. The writeups seem to demonstrate that, at least.

i can imagine the kinda alt.indie italians really taking a shine to him. They get home and put the posters up on the wall and the father comes in and kicks the shit out of him for being (the Italian equivelent of) a poof!
