This is a prototype picture of what Marvin (the Paranoid Android) will look like! He looks fantastic. Perfectly depressed! I want a toy one... :)

MichelleRene - 6-16-2004 at 06:49 AM

:lol: awww..the poor little guy looks so sad.....

seacaptain - 6-16-2004 at 06:50 AM

He's supposed to! Marvin is a depressed robot. :D

Seb - 6-16-2004 at 10:57 AM

Maybe some Vogon poetry will cheer you up:

Oh freddled gruntbuggly
Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee
Groop I implore thee
My foonting turlingdromes
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts
With my blurglecruncheon
See if I don't!

seacaptain - 6-16-2004 at 03:24 PM

Vogon poetry is of course the third worst in the Universe. The second worst is that of the Azgoths of Kria. During a recitation by their Poet Master Grunthos the Flatulent of his poem "Ode to a Small Lump of Green Putty I Found In My Armpit One Midsummer Morning" four of his audience died of internal hemorrhaging, and the President of the Mid-Galactic Arts Nobbling Council survived by gnawing one of his legs off. Grunthos is reported to have been "disappointed" by the poem's reception, and was about to embark on a reading of his twelve-book epic entitled My Favorite Bathtime Gurgles when his own major intestine, in a desperate attempt to save life and civilization, leaped straight up through his neck and throttled his brain.

The very worst poetry of all perished along with its creator, Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings of Greenbridge, Essex, England, in the destruction of the planet Earth.

:D

happysmilely - 6-17-2004 at 05:12 AM

hahaha... nice, I love that book (s)

seacaptain - 1-10-2005 at 09:43 PM

I knew I had a thread about this at some point.

Check this out!! I still love that Marvin.

happysmilely - 1-13-2005 at 12:14 PM

Yeah I remember this thread!

That was my new desktop! But I just changed if because it was too much white

I can't wait
I can't wait
(Dances the I can't wait dance)

I have a robot I got for Christmas. You get one guess to his name, lol

I'm sad Ford Prefect is played by Mos Def. It's not going to be a quaint British guy. But oh well, maybe he can do a good British accent?
But casting looks good. Warwick Davis is Marvin, LOL

look seacaptain got me ranting again.

seacaptain - 1-13-2005 at 05:28 PM

That's my desktop too, I think the all white looks sweet. And I like having "Don't Panic" there every day. :)

I'm optimistic about Mos Def. Ford Prefect isn't English, he's an alien! I think Mos Def can mos def play that. Supposed to be an off-center kind of strange dude from another planet.

happysmilely - 1-13-2005 at 06:30 PM

yeah but for years he's been an off centered british dude
I'll get over it

white hurts my eyes, plus I need change, and a lot of it.

seacaptain - 1-13-2005 at 07:27 PM

The main reason I have faith in Mos Def is because he's been on The Chappelle Show. :)

Yea I change my desktop maybe every 4 days. I'm gonna try to stick with this one because it rules though.

poobs - 1-14-2005 at 05:55 PM

Wow..What a great story!! (read with lots of sarcasm):lol::lol:

seacaptain - 1-14-2005 at 07:51 PM

Yea, please don't ruin this thread with stuff like that, thanks.

JunoRedneck - 1-14-2005 at 08:53 PM

Well she had to change the subject to be about herself somehow

EvilMotivator - 1-15-2005 at 12:37 AM

Seriously. Has she written a sentence that doesn't include the words I or me yet?

seacaptain - 1-15-2005 at 06:40 AM

Do you think she wants us to ask who she's talking about? Funny, nobody really cares.

seacaptain - 1-15-2005 at 06:41 AM

Anyway, back to Hitchhiker's Guide. Here's an earlier poster:

happysmilely - 1-16-2005 at 09:53 AM

minimandy14 - 4-28-2005 at 08:59 PM

Dude, I havn't even read the book and I wanna see the movie hella bad.

seacaptain - 4-28-2005 at 09:03 PM

Fuck that, read the book first. You totally can read it in like one day, give it a go.

Jette - 4-29-2005 at 02:30 AM

i didnt like the book, stopped after a page or 50

minimandy14 - 4-29-2005 at 05:43 AM

corkey16 - 4-29-2005 at 08:32 AM

Sorry. That movie don't look that interesting to me. I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.

corkey16 - 4-29-2005 at 08:32 AM

poobs - 4-29-2005 at 08:37 AM

same here, see you all later

[Edited on 30-4-2005 by happysmilely]

Evil - 4-29-2005 at 11:36 PM

I just saw it. I thought it was pretty good. Sam Rockwell is so hilarious.

corkey16 - 4-30-2005 at 06:36 AM

Now my husband wants to see it today.

seacaptain - 4-30-2005 at 08:15 AM

Yea I think it's good. I like the cast, and the design of the film. It just didn't flow as naturally as the book does. And a lot of little HILARIOUS things were confusingly left out. But looking back, I dig it more than I think I do, if that makes sense.

happysmilely - 4-30-2005 at 08:31 AM

I loved the book. so as all who love a book tend to feel when it is made into a movie, the movie isn't as good. But I loved the movie. it was good, I just miss some of the lines in the book that needed to be in the film. You saw a lot of this at the start of the film. But the look of the film was great!
I would have Loved it if I never read the book.

minimandy14 - 4-30-2005 at 06:22 PM

Good because I think I am going to go and see it on monday and I havn't read the book. . . . .. . . yet.

happysmilely - 4-30-2005 at 09:10 PM

I would forget the movie and read the book.. book is way better

however, I would like to hear a view of the movie from a one who hasn't read the book.

poobs - 4-30-2005 at 10:39 PM

Well that will come from me..I think Brody and I are going to see it tomorrow and I've never read the book..Or is it books? :duh:

Evil - 4-30-2005 at 10:59 PM

I didn't read the book either.

corkey16 - 5-1-2005 at 07:40 AM

I love the singing dolphins.:)

minimandy14 - 5-1-2005 at 04:08 PM

HEY! SOME OF US HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!!!!!! . . . . .I will eventually read the book though . . . but I really wanna see this movie,. . . .and star wars and war of the worlds . . . . . and whats that other movie. . . . .when does corpse bride come out? I had a dream last night where I went and saw it. weird. . . . . but it was cool cause then I got to meet Tim Burton . . . . .he was nice. . . . in my dream of course. . . . . that would be kick ass if it was real.

the end

:o scary singing dolphins. . . . I thought this was supposed to be a comedy. . . . .

Evil - 5-1-2005 at 04:28 PM

I think Happy might be a crackhead. They didn't scare me.

minimandy14 - 5-1-2005 at 04:34 PM

Maybe. . . . .maybe thats why she's so happy all the time. . . . . damn I would make a great detective :D

happysmilely - 5-1-2005 at 04:44 PM

That song was just MEH. So :P
I hated the song, it scared me.

Drug free is the way to be kids.
Happy is a natural crackhead.
Happens when you are manic-depressive.

Just because my name is happy don't mean I be happyin all the time.

My screen name actually was developed off the ironic (the right ironic) play of the word happy, that I am not going to explain. Add in the odd joke that I spell it "happysmilely", and you have my name. I was like 15 then ok. It just stuck with me.

note: Proper response should be

The founders of my town were the Smiley brothers, two twins in the 1800s. So there's a number of things around town called Smiley.

poobs - 5-1-2005 at 10:51 PM

Totally unrelated but there was a chick in high school who's last name was Bonar..All of the subs used to pronounce it boner..:lol:

Evil - 5-1-2005 at 11:08 PM

I wish that was my last name.

poobs - 5-1-2005 at 11:24 PM

poobs - 5-3-2005 at 04:01 PM

That's beyond the obvious Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Star Wars and Corpse Bride and..and..A billion others..:D

minimandy14 - 5-3-2005 at 06:55 PM

Dude, I know what you mean poobs. . . . If I live close to a movie theatre where I move, I am totally going to the movies by myself this summer to see all of those movies, cause when I move I am not going to know anyone at all.

happysmilely - 5-4-2005 at 06:40 AM

I saw sin city a few nights ago.
I liked it but I'm a bit twisted like that.
also saw amityville horror, good stuff.

I'm getting SO excited about seeing star Wars. Got my tickets on hold. Were going opening night.

I've been ranting about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for years now. can't wait!
Corpse Bride is a must!

normaly I don't see so many movies but I have seen a LOT this year. A whole lot really.

The worst movie I saw this year was the Ring 2.
My boy is into horror films so he really wanted to see it. we both hated it.

poobs - 5-4-2005 at 06:55 AM

I kind of want to see House of Wax..But maybe that's just because of my obsession for P**** H*****..:)

corkey16 - 5-4-2005 at 07:21 AM

 Just doesn't look excellenting to me. What's the name of that one horror movie that is based on a true story about the ghosts in the house and the one guy heard demons telling him to kill everyone in the house and now the house is haunted? That one looks pretty good
:)

corkey16 - 5-4-2005 at 07:22 AM

What is Corpse Bride about Poobs?

the one i was just talking about.
amityville horror.
it was good.

corkey16 - 5-4-2005 at 05:59 PM

I want to go see it. Is it really scary?

minimandy14 - 5-4-2005 at 10:08 PM

The first one is better and of course the book is better, like hella better. It makes me mad because in the new movie they try to play it off like Jodi is a little girl, I am sorry but Jodi was a pig. A PIG I TELL YOU!.

corkey16 - 5-5-2005 at 08:37 AM

ok......sure.

happysmilely - 5-5-2005 at 01:13 PM

 I never read the book. Nevertheless, yes, the books are always better, and so are the first movies. Yet, it was fun.
I cannot say it was scary, because they do not tend to scare me.
"Scary" movies are predictable, (heck ok most movies are predictable) so I do not get scared.
However, I did like it.
Graphics were done well and well timed.
I wish cretin parts were extended but I cannot really say what ones or I will spoil...

corkey16 - 5-5-2005 at 06:17 PM

Can't wait to see it.:D

corkey16 - 5-5-2005 at 06:20 PM

I also want to see King on Heaven with my man Orlando Bloom. Hmm Hmm!! I read that they are suppose to show a full frontle of him. Hell yeah!!!!!! But of course they said teh same for Alexander and all I seem where the balls. Plus it was during a uncomfortable sceen.

uh, alot of boy-on-boy action. That's all I have to say. You have to be able to take that while watching the film. and also alot of lovey dovey dialog that's kinda eye-popping/mouth-dropping :o. But, it was ok. I can't give it all away.:)

corkey16 - 5-8-2005 at 03:46 PM

Evil - 5-8-2005 at 10:36 PM

poobs - 5-8-2005 at 11:02 PM
