Promoing Ima at a phone company?

happysmilely - 8-17-2004 at 09:44 AM

Well I was standing in line to pay a bill at the phone company. There they had a computer with internet so you could test there internet service and see how "fast" it was so you would want it. So Iwent on it to see how fats it was. (It was WAY slower then mine) Everyone in line (scary looking 40 or older men) is looking at what I'm doing. So I go to Imarobot.com (habit)
pull up the funniest photo of Alex I could find, I leave it there and walk out. Turning back only to see the people’s strange looks as they stared at the huge photo of Alex Ebert...
 I wish I had a photo of it.

Just thought I would share my joy :D

EvilMotivator and I have defaced many a desk with the IMAR logos. I think Evil may have even gotten a couple bathroom walls. But once EvilMotivator wrote "penis" really big in permanent pen on a desk, for reasons I don't want to go into, and the history teacher stopped in the middle of class and got all mad and made her wash it off. Then the whole class like stopped and watched us wash of the word penis off the desk for like 10 minutes. I helped since I'm such a good friend. Good times. Or awkward times. No wonder I failed history.:lol:

I decided to post again just so I could get to 100. Woo hoo!

EvilMotivator - 8-17-2004 at 05:51 PM

Good times in history. The penis thing is from far too may inside jokes.

I always write the Ima symbol. Everywhere I go, it goes too. Gotta spread the Ima Robot love. Not to mention it's just an awesome symbol by itself. I like when I draw it on my hand or arm and people think it's a tattoo. It's funny.

happysmilely - 8-17-2004 at 06:11 PM

I do the same thing....
and they tend to say "what the hell is that"
I write on myself a lot, bad habit , i must stop that.

poobs - 8-17-2004 at 06:23 PM

I remember my friends and I wrote "YES ON 187" on the ground where we ate lunch..A teacher walked by as we were putting the finishing touches on it..She yelled at us, but we couldn't clean it cuz it was permanent marker..:duh:

By the way, Prop 187 was something about illegal aliens..I don't remember what it was, but we wanted them gone..Then again, when you were feeling bad about yourself, all you had to do was walk down the hallway where all of the ESL classes were and you would always get whistled at..:duh:

TurtleEnterprises - 8-18-2004 at 11:34 AM

OH shit poobs! I remember my first day of highschool i was so nervous and i passed by the ESL class and the boys were all yelling out "nice legs" omg i was so shy and embaressed but now that i think of it that shit was funny. ..So tru dat Pobbs! haha look how i spelled it..

On the topic of writing and drawing things at school, I started drawing a mural on my Math 11 desk. I spent about 2 weeks working on it and it looked damn good for someone who cant draw but when I showed up one day for class it was gone:(

I also failed that class and had to go to summer school, haha, but I missed over a month of school so it wasnt my fault.

Ah ... the ESL boys. Last year I had to walk by them every day to get to my 1st class (block scheduling, gotta love it), but the guys in that particular class never spoke English, so it was just creepy. Then I got a cuban friend who would talk shit to them and give out fake names from Spanish Soap Operas. Good times.

Seb - 8-18-2004 at 02:35 PM

There was the one guy in my marketing 12 class that couldnt speak a word of english, he always had a friend translate for him:o

My marketing/entrepreneurship class was awesome, the weirdst, funniest things happened in them.

happysmilely - 8-18-2004 at 05:16 PM

I've had that happen.
I would draw on my desk in high school a lot...
See I drew on everything back then.
Pants, skin, shoes, desks...
Then they started to crack down on marking up your desks so then I would draw it in pencil so I was able to be removed and I couldn't get yelled at...
I think I did the whole desk in about 1/2 of my classes.
Mostly covered in toons and band logos and strange slogans I made up that year.
It took me forever, was super detailed and most of them were almost full.
Then one day I came to school and the janitors cleaned the desks :(

I did a little montage on my Bio desk that was a combo of the Ima Robot, weezer, and Chili Peppers symbols. It was neat and done in red and black sharpie.

happysmilely - 8-19-2004 at 08:26 AM
