STORY TIME!

I have a story to tell...basically it's just me both venting and being really excited at the same time! :o

To start things off, let me just say that I FINALLY GOT MY LICENSE TODAY!! I'm 17 and I've been driving since I was 14, but I never really needed my license cuz my mom is pretty much always available to drive me places, or I have a friend that can drive me. But I love driving, so I finally got my wonderful license just today right after school...well right after I stopped by my house to get the things I need to prove I did driver's ed shit. On with the story...
My parents have never really been law abiders. They let me drive long before I had my permit, as long as they were with me. I even took off on my own quite a bit and my parents found out every single time (besides once) and they never got mad. They would say "Don't do it again." but I always did and they never actually did anything about it. But now that I have my actual license everything is different of course. I picked my friend up from school, went to her house, to Tom Thumb, and I was going to go to Bennigan's. Then my dad called and I told him what I was doing. My mom said I couldn't go to Bennigan's because there would be too much traffic or some shit. I've driven down that street PLENTY of times. So I decided to go pick up Erica and go back to my house. When I got back home, my parents got mad because I had 2 people with me in the car at the same time. You see, in Texas you're only allowed to have 1 person under the age of 18 (that isn't a family member) for the first 6 months of having you're license, unless of course you yourself are 18. But most officers don't even enforce that law and it's against the law for them to pull someone over with a valid reason. They won't suspect anything if I'm just driving around with 2 or 3 people in my car and not doing anything wrong. So I was really mad, yelled a bit, said "rules are made to be broken!", stormed out the door, and took Erica home. Yeah, that probably didn't go over too well...

In California you can't have anyone under 25 in the car for the first six months. Lame ass. But who actually pays any attention to that? Only hosers...

we can't even drive till 17 in the UK :no: then you hit 17 and if you want to drive you have to pay like Ģ40 to get your permit so you can learn then you have to pay more when you pass your test to get your proper licence. I can't afford it unfortunatley cos a car would be really handy. its so expensive tho, tax and insurance and all. :(

itīs so starking mad you can get your driving license in the States when 16 but are not allowed to drink till 21. and what completely doesnīt make sense are those rules on shows who are over 21 only since there is a bar in the venue. in Germany you can get a driver license and liquor when being 18 and youīre allowed to go to concerts on your own ever younger ...i mean if there is a bar in there, they just donīt serve you until youīre not 18. why donīt they handle it like this in the States ?? aaah. but then again, why worry ..iīm soon to be 22 (on the 19th). ;)

Here you can get your learners when you are 16. You have it for a year and you have to hang a L sign in you back window. After a year you can get your novice licence(need to hang a N sign in your back window) which is the same as a full licence but you can only have one person in your car unless they are family members. You can get your full licence after having the N for 2 years.

It must suck to have the drinking age at 21 in the states. In Canada its either 19 or 18 depending on what province you are in(Its 19 in BC)

Yep I agree that it's completely insane that we can drive before we can drink alcohol. I think driving is a little more risky than alcohol, but then again.. what the hell do I know? About the show thing. Around here, Dallas and Denton that is, about half the shows are all ages and half are either 17+. 18+. or 21+ even when they have a bar inside. Almost every venue around here has a bar, so they just put X's on your hands so they know you're not 21. Yep!

L and N signs.. that's kinda funny! I like it. I love seeing cars go down the road that say "student driver." They make me laugh.

Although we're not supposed to drink till we're 21, it's really damn easy to get alcohol before then. My parents don't mind me drinking occasionally and I know a few people of legal age that don't mind purchasing it for minors. It's not that bad, not that bad at all.:D

Warhol:It is funny when you see them hanging in the window. I still havent gone for my licence, haha. It is really easy to get alcohol here as well. Once I turned 18 my parents really didnt care about me drinking(which was awesome in Mexico becaue beer is 1$ each)

that looks nice ...but doesnīt it hurt like hell if you get tattooed on the wrist ? iīm getting a new tattoo on my shoulder soon ..something old-fashioned and coloured... and not too large.

Once I turn 18, I'm going tattoo crazy. I want almost a whole sleeve on my right arm, a recycle sign beneath the left side of my collar bone and either "BOWIE" or "27" on my lower back. But my mind changes a lot...
