Weird?

bananaboat - 9-8-2004 at 02:18 PM

I was talking to some people about weird things people do or eat with food. I was wondering have you guys ever eaten your turkey with cranberry jelly? 'Cause it's so good. hahaha

Neuwave - 9-8-2004 at 02:26 PM

Dude, or dudette :D. that's a tradition during thanx-givin'! The cranberry relish from Trader Joe's is bombage. It's also inspired me to add other fruity delights to dinner like orange marmalaid with pork chops, or apple sauce with chicken. I get really crazy with it. I like making a big mush out of everything like spinach, mashed potatoes, and macaroni & cheese w/chopped steak. Gives the taste buds a work out ya know? Thanks for making me very hungry.

Evangeline - 9-8-2004 at 02:29 PM

Trader Joe's is cool. I don't understand where they get "action jackson" though.

happysmilely - 9-8-2004 at 02:44 PM

Well I don't eat meat so I don't know....
However I have had some strange foods.
Anyone like pickles and peanut butter?
So good

Man Trader Joe's is the best. good good good
I was shopping there 2 days ago, and they had a raffle. I won! They put my photo up on the wall and everything
Got a bag full of free food :D
Good thing cause I'm poor.

Sorry to have made you guys hungry.:D

So Trader's Joe...is that a grocery store in the States?

EvilMotivator - 9-8-2004 at 06:10 PM

Has anyone ever eaten cottage cheese on toast? It's damn tasty. And then you add some salt and pepper. mmmm

Seb - 9-8-2004 at 06:15 PM

Cottage cheese, toast and raddish is really good.

WarholDisciple - 9-8-2004 at 06:31 PM

Oh man, all I ever do is eat weird shit. I haven't eaten meat for almost 17 months now, but I have eaten turkey with jelly at Thanksgiving before. That's not too weird at all. Anyone mix ketchup with mayo for fries? I call it mayonetchup. I eat tortillas with soy bacon and cream cheese, so good! I don't like ice cream unless it's mixed with cranberry juice. I drink cranberry juice milkshakes. I eat grilled cheese sandwiches with pickles inside and dip it in ketchup. Man there's so many crazy things I eat. I'll list some more later.

happysmilely - 9-8-2004 at 07:52 PM

Anyone mix ketchup with mayo for fries?
but I don't like mayo much anymore

tortillas with soy bacon and cream cheese? but I eat tortilla chips with most anything

"ice cream unless it's mixed with cranberry juice... "
I had that once, it's good with OJ 2, or diffrent sodas, friut punch stuff as well. or if you mix in coolaid packets. Or pop rocks or....

Cottage cheese, toast  but I don't like the raddish

oh cranberries and cranberry sauce goes well with meat !!! really...it´s like cheese and grapes. ham and melon. all that stuff. mixing up tastes. sweet-sour. blabla. also apple mush / squish or cherries are wonderful for (roasted) beef as well!!! but the mush has to be warm as well! in Gran Canaria they had that "mojo salsa" they had with potatoes ..it´s made of carrots and other stuff and is WONDERFUL. i could talk about food for hours and hours ...

Noisemonster - 9-9-2004 at 09:16 AM

mmmmmyea, food! talkin' about mayo & ketchup, i often mix it for noodles. we have (in this case not mixed) 'fries red-white' here, or sometimes called 'fries barrier'! mmmm, i like that with currysausage, one of THE german working-class meals.

me too.

Whenever i'm making food, I often think, "a true artists likes to create in every realm", so why not on the plate?

Evangeline - 9-9-2004 at 11:09 AM

I love mayo and ketchup together! That's basically what the "secret sauce" in fast food places is, plus relish sometimes.
I love bacon and syrup. But not the fake corn syrup shit, all natural baby.
Cottage cheese is boos on bar-b-quq potatoe chips. And doritos on ham and cheese sandwiches. Yumm.
Oh, ever since I was little my sisters and I would make toast with butter cinnamon and sugar on top.... so yummy.
Avacados on pizza, and also liverwurst and velveeta on crackers.

WarholDisciple - 9-9-2004 at 12:43 PM

Ice cream really is good with any sort of juice, but I prefer cranberry juice. It's the BEST!! Let's see...what else do I eat? Of course cottage cheese on toast, it's the only way to eat cottage cheese. Has anyone had pickled ocra?? It's SOO good! I used to make "salads" with pickled ocra, tomatoes, ranch, and cheese..no lettuce. Oh man, I haven't had that in a long time. My favourite pizza is mushroom and avocado...I make it myself. Anyone tried dried seaweed? It's gross.

EvilMotivator - 9-9-2004 at 05:12 PM

So many people here eat dried seaweed. We're full of hippies. I stay as far away from it as possible. It's nasty.

7cut - 9-9-2004 at 11:55 PM

i love hawai toast ....

bananaboat - 9-10-2004 at 09:41 AM

mmm...ketchup and mayo with fries, i thought I was the only one who did that. I like cottage cheese with pineapple, Mcdonald fries in my cheeseburgers, chips on my tuna casserole. And I can't eat grilled cheese sandwich without ketchup. Sometimes I put tomatoes in it.

bananaboat - 9-10-2004 at 09:41 AM

man o man I'm hungry.

I can't eat ketchup or mayonaise. They make me wanna puke.

TurtleEnterprises - 9-11-2004 at 02:36 PM

I love Mayo on my fries! Vanilla Ice cream on MCdonalds fries goes great together, I cannot stand ketchup! I know theres other weird things I eat but I can't think of them right now, me and my lil brother have the exact same taste buds!

ohhhhhhh I love Ranch on my Pizza!

mophey - 9-12-2004 at 01:52 PM

swede, carrot and mashed potato all mushed together with tomato ketchup or gravy is yummy :) as is strawberry milkshake with lemonade :D

poobs - 9-12-2004 at 04:05 PM

Mmmm..Mayo and ketchup mixed for fries..Soo good..And fries dipped in chocolate shakes..Give me anything salty and sweet together and I'm happy.. :D I make tomato sammiches with mayo and teriyaki sauce spread on there..That's good stuff..

I agree with the pizza and ranch..Yumm..

7cut - 9-13-2004 at 12:40 AM

i´ve heard on Americans who eat their French fries with chocolate sauce ..aaaaah. how cruel is that ? i had had a ready-made potato salad from the fridge corner of the supermarket on Friday and got so so sick from that one.

GAR!

bananaboat - 9-14-2004 at 08:44 AM

Someone took my vanilla cream tapioca pudding!! Yesterday, I was enjoying it for myself and my friend comes and goes, "OOo!! Is that yogurt?"
"Um..no, it's vanilla cream tapioca pudding."
"OOoo!! Pudding!!"
"Vanilla cream tapioca pudding," I correct her, but she does not appreciate nor care to know that. Then she has this expectant look in her face, in which I try to ignore, but I finally give in. Grumpily, I say, "Do you want one?"
"Oh why yes."
So that time I had two left and this morning someone stole one, and now I have one!! ONE!!! I will eat this one, and so there would be none, NONE to share with anyone. I bet it was my dad or my brother...or my sister. Hmph!

EvilMotivator - 9-14-2004 at 09:21 AM

I hate when people steal the food I'm looking forward to eating. It's the worst. And it happens quite often at my house 'cause there are so many damn poeple here all the time. Bastards.

Seb - 9-14-2004 at 12:45 PM

I also hate it when someome takes something I look forward to eating or drinking:(

ps
something that is really good is when you make home made macaroni and cheese, put dill in it and then bake it.

[Edited on 14-9-2004 by Seb]

JunoRedneck - 9-14-2004 at 03:58 PM

When I was younger I used to steal the food my brother wanted just to piss him off. I also used to get mad when he would get more food than me, even though I would never finish the amount I had anyway. Aw, the logic of children.

Seb - 9-14-2004 at 04:06 PM

haha, when I was younger my brother would hate it when someone touched his food, even with a fork or something, so whenever he was eating something I wanted I would always stick my fork into it, haha

TurtleEnterprises - 9-14-2004 at 04:37 PM

i remember when in kindergarden my mom made bluebberry koolaid, it was so good i couldnt wait to get home and drink some more when i got outta school it was all gone , it was the saddest day of my life, i as well hate when everyone eats what im looking forward to eating.

Seb - 9-14-2004 at 04:43 PM

Anther thing that bugs me is when I get something to eat and before I even start someone else is eating it(a family member, not some random person)

EvilMotivator - 9-14-2004 at 06:32 PM

How weird would it be if it were some random person? I'd be scared as hell.

JunoRedneck - 9-14-2004 at 09:34 PM

Story time! This one time my brother and his girlfriend left nachos in their car and went downtown, but left the doors unlocked. Then when they got back, someone had been eating their nachos!! The person didn't even take them. They just ate half and then left it! How weird/ really gross is that? It was probably some homeless guy. Or that evil psychic guy who hangs around downtown. Oh how I hate that guy. So the moral of the story is: "Don't leave your nachos in an unlocked car or a psychic homeless man may snack on them"

EvilMotivator - 9-14-2004 at 09:56 PM

I remember you telling me that story a long time ago. Crazy homwless people downtown. And that "psychic" guy... don't even get me started on him. I hate that bitch. He called me a freak one time. It was funny.

7cut - 9-14-2004 at 11:56 PM

YEsterday i had had a "Hüttenkäse" (cottage cheese) sandwich ....yumm. i wished there still was this burrito take-away around ...they shut the place last year..aaah, gotta go for Mexican food again. it´s my favourite along with SEA FOOD!!! and Asian food...and some Italian.

bananaboat - 9-15-2004 at 07:54 AM

Hee hee, I always read cottage cheese as cotton cheese. Anyways, I like Greek food and East Indian. East Indian food makes me sniffle and teary-eyed and the flavour is interesting and different from what I usually eat. It was cool, when my dad was away, me and my mom got invited to a party where everyone brought a Middle Eastern dish. I was surprised my mom loved the stuff, because she doesn't even like Western food.

bananaboat - 9-15-2004 at 08:04 AM

Yea, when I was younger, my big brother would get more of our favourite food and I would be jealous and have a fit. Then he would go, "I get more because I'm bigger."
To get back at him, I'd always tell him that when I'm bigger, I'm going to eat all the food that we like and get this dinky portion of it and he would shrink to a small kid and never get a chance to eat more than me.
Then he would tell me he doesn't care. That would always make me so mad.

Seb - 9-15-2004 at 08:05 AM

Indian food is awesome, as well as chinese, and greek and, well, everything

happysmilely - 9-15-2004 at 08:05 AM

Ranch on my Pizza! darn good
East Indian food great stuff
you can eat fries with almost anything

:lol::lol: Wish I had been there. I hate how he just randomly yells "I'm psychic!" I don't actually think he ate the nachos though, because I have a theory that he eats nothing but gelato. I sat and watched him one time and he got like 4 gelatos in less than an hour. Crazy bastard.

WarholDisciple - 9-15-2004 at 05:21 PM

Oh those crazy gelato eating psychics... We have a few of those in Lewisville. Alright, so I lied.

I hate it when I make a pizza from nearly scratch (always mushroom) and I save some for the next day, and then it's gone. I made it myself so I obviously want it! I usually don't have a problem with people stealing my food, but when it does happen it does make me rather haughty.

My dad made knodel with some really great sourish sauce tonight, and some very tasty "german salad." There are some german foods I just can't get enough of, spatzle and knodel being 2 of them, and some I just can't stand like sauerkraut!

Cranberry juice is the best EVER!!!

7cut - 9-16-2004 at 12:22 AM

mmmmh. Indian food. i love curry...the best spice there is. ever had curry ketchup in your hot dog ? yumm yumm yumm.
