how old is too old?

Evangeline - 9-9-2004 at 11:43 AM

I'm 16, and a friend of mine recently told me that his older (college age) brother think's I'm hot and wants to date me and whatnot. So do you think it's a really bad idea? I'm not naive, and I know the risks of getting involved with a guy who's older. All input is welcome.

Oh yeah, keep in mind that he is a fullblooded Italian and speaks the language fluently.;););)

Define callege age, he could be 18 or 28.

Personally I think its weird when my friends date really young girls(of course they never hear the end of it, haha)

I don't know his specific age, but I believe he is 20 or 21.

I'm sure if my friend were dating someone much younger (or older) than them, I too would give them alot of shit for it.

It's one thing to date him and it's quite another to get serious about it... Getting serious with someone if you're only 16 really isn't a good idea most of the time. When I was 15 I had a boyfriend who was a senior in highschool and we decided it would be best to break up before he goes to college. We're still friends though. Go with your gut, I guess.

he just wants to get in your pants! Sike jk jk ...
It's one thing to date an older guy, then it's another to date a friends brother, theres so many other guys out there! I personally would never date a friends brother, things would get to complicated.:wow::rolleyes::wow::rolleyes:

p.s I did sorta date someone whos 36 for a while it didnt work out we were better off as friends, he talked about all these old movies and music that i never heard of i felt like such a dumb ass but that wasnt the case,......... he was just an old fart...

Evangeline - 9-9-2004 at 12:45 PM

I understand the whole thing about dating a friend's sibling, but I can't see it being a problem with these siblings in particular.
No matter what you kids say, I'd go with my gut reaction most of the time. I've seen the guy while he was drunk, but we didn't talk, so I haven't actually met him. I believe we are all going to the movies sometime soon, so we'll what happens.

Thats a big age difference. Like others say, go with your gut. I wouldnt date a friends sister but I would be lieing if I said I wouldnt fool around with here(I dont want a gf, commitment freaks me out)

TurtleEnterprises - 9-9-2004 at 02:01 PM

YES!!

EvilMotivator - 9-9-2004 at 05:21 PM

Yeah, things get bad when you do things with your brother's friends or your friend's brother and whatnot. And then there's the age difference... I would stay away.

TurtleEnterprises - 9-9-2004 at 05:39 PM

JunoRedneck - 9-9-2004 at 05:56 PM

Evil, I was gonna say something mean. But I decided not to. Be glad I didn't.

poobs - 9-9-2004 at 06:31 PM

Personal experience..I dated a guy that was 20 when I was 15..I thought it was cool at the time, but it grosses me out now..There is such a HUGE difference between 16 and 21..It doesn't seem like much, but you'll see as you get older the changes you go through between 19 and 20...I don't know..Do whatever you want, but just make sure you have no regrets..

Personally, I LOBVE the older men..Then again, I'm 25, so it's not as big of a deal..:duh:

No problem. I can restrain from being a shitface... at times.

Ok, a little late on this one BUT here's my advice.......
go for it, lifes too short!!! Seriously, I don't think age matters if you like each other (ok, age matters if its like 16 and 46).
He needs to know where the "line" is tho, don't let him be a tit and make you feel inferior cos there's like 5 years between you.
Besides, Johnny Depp is dating Vanessa Paradis, she's like 27 and hes 40 now I believe and they have two kids and still love each other ( my Johnny Depp knowledge is great!!:lol: )
Age isn't everything.

a friend of mine had a boyfriend aged 28 whereas she was 16 ..but that really was sick. he was way too old for her. iŽd say more than 5-6 years age difference doesnŽt make sense....

bananaboat - 9-10-2004 at 09:43 AM

Yea, I'd be careful, just in case.

Evangeline - 9-10-2004 at 11:29 AM

Alrighty then, thanks for the wisdom.
