Keane!!

poobs - 9-12-2004 at 02:40 PM

So I got into this show (French Kicks/Keane) for free in San Fran thanks to someone with connections..I hadn't ever really heard Keane but thought I'd give them a chance..They sucked me in from their 2nd song on..I thought they would be a bit too whiney and lame, but the singer has a fantastic personality and the songs are wonderful..I played their cd all the way home from San Fran..Good shit..

poobs - 9-12-2004 at 03:02 PM

Should I add that there aren't any guitars? Just piano/keyboards, drums, and the singer..I guess people are calling them the new Coldplay, but I don't really see it..Not half as whiney and the lead singer's voice is really soothing..And now they are in my cd player at home..:D

happysmilely - 9-12-2004 at 07:02 PM

they R good. Heard about them a bit ago. think I have a bunch of stickers from them I've been try to pass out... i"ll look and see....

MichelleRene - 9-13-2004 at 08:36 AM

is it going tomake me sad?

You wanna hear a sad song? Listen to "Run" by Snow Patrol...I cry everytime I hear it......:(

poobs - 9-13-2004 at 08:40 AM

I would say that it's a great album for an emotional day..So I have a feeling I'll be listening to it for a few weeks..;):lol:

I think I'll download that Snow Patrol song now to check it out..:duh:

MichelleRene - 9-13-2004 at 08:46 AM

:D it'll make you sad.......the words...ahhh....so meaningful to my life right now. I'm not sure what the rest of their CD sounds like...but the video for the song is sad as well......and I think they're from England......:D:(

DylerPlummer - 9-13-2004 at 08:49 AM

Snow Patrol are Irish..

And as for Keane didn't think they would be my cup of tea but the gig in Bimbos was excellent :o;)

chiefkaterina - 9-13-2004 at 11:39 AM

hey.... i was there!!!!
it was a awesome show. i had a lot of fun. i love the french kicks...one of my top favorite bands. and keane was so great.
where were you standing?

i was kinda in the middle by a tall guy that kept pointing for some reason.

poobs - 9-13-2004 at 12:16 PM

SHUT UP!! If you were facing the stage, I was kinda on the left edge of the dance floor..A few rows back..I was kinda by a really tall guy, too..I think he was blonde..He was really into it though..:lol:

It was a great show..The lighting was really cool..:duh:

chiefkaterina - 9-13-2004 at 12:52 PM

yeah...i liked the lighting too.
the tall guy by me was some black guy that got really excited at the chorus of all the songs. haha
and i was by this guy that looked like the troll on ernest scared stupid.

poobs - 9-13-2004 at 01:02 PM

chiefkaterina - 9-13-2004 at 02:27 PM

haha, they do have emotional fans.
i am not one of them, but now that you say that they really do!

poobs - 9-13-2004 at 02:30 PM

It's fun to sing their songs though..Now that I've listened to the cd over and over and over a million times, I'm finding myself belting out the fun parts..Much to the dismay of my son..:(

ART1SSS - 9-26-2004 at 03:10 AM

I've seen them play in San Diego the very same small venue I first introduce my design t-shirts to Ima Robot. I really didn't expect that their show was so energetic. Cause the Cd it self is so mellow. Not to mention the lazer light show on stage it was like I was transported in some sort of music video.

=MARV=

poobs - 9-26-2004 at 05:37 AM

Totally! Their live show sucked me in and I will never be the same..:D

prettyvacant - 9-26-2004 at 08:40 AM

poobs - 9-26-2004 at 01:43 PM

Sometimes you don't want to cheer up and this is the perfect brooding music..

poobs - 9-29-2004 at 08:24 AM

"Bend and Break" was played on Regis and Kelly today!!:lol: Well, only the very beginning of it, but whatever..:duh:

poobs - 10-12-2004 at 02:20 PM

Awww..Still listening to this all the time..I still love it..I don't even have to be emotional to listen! It's just a damn fine album to play anytime..:duh:

I also downloaded a few videos of them at Glastonbury (sp?)..He's fun to watch..

EvilMotivator - 10-12-2004 at 05:04 PM

I like their single on the radio. I don't know what it's called, but it's good shit. Perhaps I'll have to go get the album.

poobs - 10-12-2004 at 05:37 PM

You should..I'm so hooked..They played it today on the satellite station we listen to at work..I got all giddy..:duh:

prettyvacant - 10-13-2004 at 02:32 AM

poobs - 10-13-2004 at 05:45 AM

Ha! It's ok..Not everyone has to like the same music as I do..I was in an emotional state when posting about them, too..But now that I'm not in as big of an emotional state, I can honestly say that they fit my mood, no matter what it is..

prettyvacant - 10-13-2004 at 06:28 AM

EvilMotivator - 10-14-2004 at 06:10 PM

Hmmm, I'll have to see a picture of the teeth in order to label Dyler either English or British.

EvilMotivator - 10-15-2004 at 03:32 PM

C'mon, dear Brody, all the cool people are doing it.

I just got their cd yesterday. That thing is awesome. I love it. It's been on repeat in my cd player. I also got Snow Patrol and Erase Errata. Those are also quite nice. Getting new cds is the best.
