I LOVE them! The show last night was so flippin' fantastic! :D
When I got to the venue, they were already there just eating dinner inside and then did a soundcheck. My friends and I talked to Whitey (guitar
player) for a while outside. I also talked with the tour manager to set up a time for the interview (I've started doing interviews for
Popscene's website!).
This place (Popscene) is an indie dance club, so before the band came on, there was about 2 and a half hours of dancing, and they also screened the
new Libertines dvd. They were giving out free Kaiser Chiefs buttons, so I got some. I also bought a shirt (the green Chiefette one...I love it!)
Finally, at around 11:30, the band came on! Here's the setlist:
Na Na Na Na Naaa
Everyday I love you less and less
Hard times send me
I Predict a riot
Modern way
Oh my God
Saturday Night
Time honoured tradition
I was absolutely blown away! I mean, I heard that they put on really great live shows, but I didn't know it was going to be *that* good! Ricky is
an amazing frontman...I love how he just goes all over the place and jumps and kicks! And I love the cowbell, hehe. Every single band member brought
their own energy to the stage. The crowd reaction was incredible...San Francisco loves KC!! After they finished, the cheering went on in an attempt to
get an encore. No encore though, which is completely understandable because they all had no sleep at all.
So after the show...I got to do my interview! The road manager brought my friend (who takes pictures) and I upstairs to the backstage area. I just
interviewed Nick (drummer), though, because everyone else was just too worn out. I interviewed him for just about 10 minutes or so, but it went really
well. We hung around for a little while afterwards, took pictures, and I got my setlist signed. All of the guys are absolutely sweet and also very
funny! If any of you guys happen to run into Nick...ask him to do his impression of Alex Kapranos dancing, because it was hilarious. I took a group picture with them, and Ricky sat on my lap. I asked, "So what do
you want for Christmas, little boy?" and he replied, "I want a track suit!" Chav-tastic, lol.
I had the BEST night, and I can't wait for them to come back here!!
Here's a preview of some of the pictures my friend Nancy, I will post more later (once Nancy gets them all set up). I'll also post the
interview later.
He got major air!
Ricky and Nancy
Nako (works at Popscene) and the guys...I got them to do Jazz Hands!
Backstage shenanigans
Me with KC (they didn't know Nancy was taking the picture yet, so that's why they all look kind of funny, haha) draconian - 1-14-2005 at 02:30 PM

The album comes out on March 15th! :D
Hahaha...that SF show really made an impression on me. Since then, I have seen them in Philly, Brooklyn, and am about to see them in Seattle,
Portland, L.A, and SF again! :o:DEvilMotivator - 3-7-2005 at 12:21 AM
Holy crap. That's a whole lotta Kaiser Chiefs shows. I don't think I can go to the SF one, which sucks. I can't wait for their cd,
though.avw86 - 3-27-2005 at 09:04 PM
Here's my interview with Nick (drummer) if any of you are interested.
Man, are they still here? I mean in the US?. . . . . I would LOVE to see them. I totally didn't even hear them until like last week.avw86 - 3-28-2005 at 01:21 AM
You JUST missed them!
My friends and I actually just drove up to Seattle and Portland to see them two weeks ago! Unfortunately, two of us didn't get in (21+
venues...damn!)
They're coming back in June, though. :Dminimandy14 - 3-28-2005 at 04:45 PM
REALLY!? OMG that is so awesome! When in june? Are they coming back to seattle do you know? I hope there shows aren't 21+ when they come back . .

Oh man, their cd is so damn good. I think "Born to be a Dancer" and "Saturday Night" are my favorites. I wish I had gone to their
show at Slim's last week.minimandy14 - 3-30-2005 at 08:24 PM
Dude no, Everyday I love you less and less, That is totally the best song on there.
