been for lunch with my long-time fling today (btw, he´s doing a bit better) and i bought him a beer for Valentines day....well, the girls get flowers, the guys get ....beer? strippers? do guys even get presents at all on valentines ?

My day was pretty good..The resident therapist that hangs at the Noah's/Starbuck's/Jamba Juice corner gave me a chocolate heart..My BFF A&F came in on her day off to give me a box of chocolates..A guy tipped me $20 for finding his bag that he left and keeping it safe and for my "beautful smile"..(Bummer I had to put it in the damn tip jar..Bastards) And when I got home, there was a pot of yellow dafodils on the table with a homemade card from Brody..:D So I'm not getting any hot ass tonight..No biggie, right? Mr. Pocket Rocket will just have to do for now..;)

ah, i loved valentines day this year! its the best when you just started a nre relationship; no need to do anything ultra-impressive, but its still nice to be extra sweet :D

I'm glad someone had a good Valentine's Day. My best friend decided yesterday would be a good day to tell me we aren't friends anymore :( Now she's trying to hang out with all my other friends and exclude me so I'll be all alone. I guess I'll just be eating lunch by myself...

I originally scheduled last night with some girl I've been dating recently. Pretty, fun, ambitious -- a TV/Radio ad producer with an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile.

Valentines was to be our 5th date. I offered to cook her dinner and give her a nice evening. She agreed. What woman wouldn't?

I called her last week to confirm everything. Suddenly her tone shifted; she sounded hesistant. "Yeah, Valentines should still work... I think... yeah.... should be okay..."

I wrote to her the next day. What was her deal? Why the hesitation? Why the change of heart?

Long story short: "too nice". Yep, stupid me, always with the nice treatment. "girls are twisted, myself included". Yeah, I'm starting to gather that.

So I called up my college ex-gf, who has unfortunately been dealing with the possibility of cervical cancer for the past few weeks, and made alternate plans. We ended up having a really great day, and in the end, there's no doubt that she was more deserving and certainly more appreciative than the producer would have been.

And, in a convenient twist of fate, she got her test results back today and is cancer free. So in the end, everybody wins.

Except, I suppose for me, who is still without a girlfriend or a job.

I watched tv and my mom took me shopping and I ate medicine and went to bed early. Yeah, it wasn't so bad :)
