Has anyone seen or had to deal with mudslides?

Mudslide in California

There are lots by my house when it's rainy, but it hasn't rained for a while, soooo...

:wow: How does that happen all the time there? That and the fires? Do you guys still have earthquakes? I know it's alot of dumb questions, but California seems like an interesting place. Better than Georgia I bet.:P

I live in La Jolla (in San Diego). Happened many times here, but nothing too big. And nothing that has affected me personally....

It's people putting big houses on hill sides to get a nice view.
Mostly on the coast, and that adds to the unstable ground.
We tend to be dry here and had an extra wet winter. Thus landslides.

As for fires, lots of dry brush and stupid drunks in the woods.
Nothing very interesting for earthquakes, lots of little ones.
I went to a Hives concert recently, a small earthquake happened as I was in line for the show. Recently one woke me up for work.

:wow: The only bad weather we get here in Georgia is tornados every once in a while or we get the rain from it. It was hell last year with all the hurricanes that hit Florida and here.

happysmilely - 6-2-2005 at 06:11 PM

yeah hurricanes is the one thing we don't get.

We've had "twisters" in the area lately..They destroyed some almond trees!!! Oh the humanity!!! :o

corkey16 - 6-3-2005 at 08:22 AM

Have anyone one seen The Day After Tomorrow? Very boring movie, but, they show how it would look if a tornado would hit California. I look pretty cool, movie wise, but I bet it would be scary for people who live in that area cause not too many people know what to do when a tornado strikes. Just like I would be confused if a earthquake hit the South.

That movie is hilarious... but not trying to be.

corkey16 - 6-3-2005 at 08:41 AM

I thought so too. And what was the big deal about the dogs?

RoboticTerrorSTD - 6-4-2005 at 08:06 AM

Cali has all these problems because we're all SINNERS & the good Lord is punishing us.

JunoRedneck - 6-4-2005 at 10:42 AM

It's funny 'cause it's true...

corkey16 - 6-5-2005 at 05:57 PM

Hmmmm....:ticking:

bananaboat - 6-7-2005 at 04:16 PM

Oh man it's been raining hard all week and there's just been a warning of a flood here. I'm so scared, I feel like crying.

shortwavez - 6-7-2005 at 04:26 PM

hey guys im new here. I live in cali and there was just a landslide in laguna beach. nobody was killed but ruined an entire neighborhood. all the houses were million dollar houses. pretty sad. insurance doesn't cover landslides from what i hear.

I want a fish that looks like that.

JunoRedneck - 6-7-2005 at 08:32 PM

I could do without the creepy teeth and eye. Besides that, it's pretty awesome.

Evil - 6-7-2005 at 08:59 PM

Hi!! nice to meet you!:D

bananaboat - 6-8-2005 at 11:45 AM

Hi new friend.

Wow that's the coolest thing poobs.

Where I live, the flood only effects the rich, 'cause their backyard is the freakin' river or they live near downtown. So I was freaking out for nothing.
