yup thats me today, all crampy. I have cramps want to go home and lay down. I'm moving today. New apt with my friend. Should be fun. We have a pool there won't be able to enjoy it I might turn it into the red sea.

corkey16 - 6-1-2005 at 09:50 AM

Good for you. I haven't had mine yet. A little worried. I know i'm not pregnant, but I also skip months alot. I've skipped 3 month in a row before.

TurtleEnterprises - 6-1-2005 at 09:51 AM

I have skipped months at a time. Then when it finally came around it was a whopper of a month. :o

corkey16 - 6-1-2005 at 10:00 AM

:wow: Yep. That and all the water gain you get before it comes too. I'm suppose to get back on the pills pretty soon which with help me with my irregular problem. The only thing that I don't like about these pills is the week before my period comes, it tricks my body into thinking i'm pregnant so that I can't get pregnant. It's weird cause I have the morning sickness, moodyness, weight gain and everything.

OH! And drink milk! It helps..I saw a Got Milk commercial that talked about it..and television DOESN'T lie.. :duh:

Evil - 6-1-2005 at 02:35 PM

Milk? Really? I've never heard that. I don't really get cramps. And my periods only last like two days. Weeehooo.

poobs - 6-1-2005 at 02:39 PM

Well, on the commercial, they say that milk can help with the effects of PMS or something..Not cramps specifically..I heard sex is good for cramps, too..

That's not true. Milk will give you gas. Gas equals more cramps. Gas and cramps equal pooing, Gas, cramps, and pooing while on the rag, well, not fun. But thanks anyway Poobs for the fact from a tv that's full of lies.:D

The abbreviation of my high schools name was PMS (Port Moody Secondary).

Dr. Susan Thys-Jacobs, an endocrinologist at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, along with colleagues at 11 other medical centers around the U.S., conducted a study to test the efficacy of calcium in women suffering with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS).

497 women with debilitating PMS were enrolled in a study testing calcium's ability to relieve their monthly discomfort relating to PMS. For two months, four categories of symptoms were closely tracked: mood swings, bloating, food cravings and pain. The women were then randomly assigned to take either 1,200 milligrams of calcium supplementation daily or a look-alike placebo for their next three menstrual cycles.

Following the findings, as reported in The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the overall severity of symptoms was reduced by 48 percent in the calcium group. Improvement in the calcium group exceeded that of the placebo group in every category studied, both psychological and physical, and in 15 of the 17 symptoms evaluated. Most significantly, calcium group participants noted a 54 percent reduction in aches and pains, while the placebo group actually had a 15 percent increase in pain symptoms.

In conclusion, it was found that calcium supplementation is a simple and effective treatment in premenstrual syndrome, resulting in a major reduction in overall luteal (pre-menstrual) phase symptoms. When currently asked about milk calcium versus supplements, Dr. Thys-Jacobs stated, "Simply drinking milk provides a very good source of calcium." Got milk?

And milk will only give you gas if you're lactose intolerant..I'm a major milk drinker and it doesn't do anything funky to my tummy..I've also heard that during your period, your poo is softer and you tend to have more of it..It has nothing to do with milk..

corkey16 - 6-1-2005 at 06:09 PM

:o Hmm, your right. It seems like that will give you more bloding. Plus some women can handle milk.

My mistake. Cause the doctors tell you to drink milk when your pregnant too. To take away discomfort, right?

happysmilely - 6-1-2005 at 08:41 PM

I saw the milk commercial on tv.

the one with all the guys going crazy trying to buy milk.
your all what the hell.
then they give you the milk PMS fact and it shows them bringing it home to the wife.
I liked it. sadly.

corkey16 - 6-2-2005 at 09:06 AM

So milk helps pms huh.....does it help it to come on? I'm serious. I would actually be happy if it came on this week so I won't have to worry if I'm pregnant or skipping another month.

poobs - 6-3-2005 at 07:30 AM

They've invented this crazy stuff called "birth control"..Supposedly it helps to make sure that you don't get pregnant when you're not ready and that you don't have any pregnancy scares..I know..It's a wacky concept, but I've heard it works!

corkey16 - 6-3-2005 at 08:45 AM

Oh, yeah. I was on birth control for about 2 years. Then I got married and got on a different health plan which screwed up my prescription and now I got to wait a couple of months to get back on it. But yeah, It works. The only thing that I didn't like about them is that you have to remember to take them at the same time everyday. Plus they cost alot. About $35.00.

poobs - 6-3-2005 at 08:49 AM

Ever heard of Planned Parenthood? Or condoms?

corkey16 - 6-3-2005 at 08:52 AM

Well I heard of, a course condoms, but call me weird, it doesn't feel the same with a condom. But that's just me. But tell me more about Planned Parenthood!:duh: Watch it be something I already know and I would feel very dumb afterwards.

poobs - 6-3-2005 at 08:56 AM

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/pp2/portal/

They give free paps, STD/AIDS testing, and birth control pills and lots of condoms..I think it's if you don't have insurance though..They're just a great organization for women..
