Jude Law publicly apologizes to fiancee for affair with nanny

LONDON -- Jude Law publicly apologized to his actress-fiancee, Sienna Miller, expressing his "sincere regret" over an affair with one of his children's nanny.

"Following the reports in today's papers, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us," the 32-year-old actor said in a statement Monday to the British Press Association.

"I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused," said Law, star of "Alfie" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley" films.

The publicity firm that represents Miller told The Associated Press the 23-year-old actress had no comment on Law's statement.

Miller was Law's co-star in the remake of "Alfie." The couple became engaged on Christmas Day 2004.

The nanny was identified in the newspaper reports as Daisy Wright, 26.

Law divorced fashion designer-actress Sadie Frost in October 2003 after a six-year marriage and three children.

The actor earned Oscar nominations for his roles in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Cold Mountain." His screen credits also include "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," "Closer" and "The Aviator," all released in 2004.

My head is quite fuzzy this morning..I think I passed out at around 2 on my couch, then got up at 5 cuz I was sneezing my brains out and went to my bed..Then I had to pee..Then I finally got up at around 8 or so..And I might be heading to an interview today..I don't know if it's such a great idea..I don't know how great of an impression I'd leave..

I was tanning..And of course the parts that I NEED to be tan aren't getting tan..But the parts that hurt when I sit or..Well, basically sit are fucking burnt so bad..And I really wish I could go without a bra cuz that's going to hurt pretty bad, too..I better look so damn good for this fucking wedding..I'm putting myself through enough pain for it.. :mad:

I'm not good with sunless tanner..I use it on my legs sometimes during the winter, but I usually end up with it streaking a little..The tanning salon is working alright..But I made the mistake of going in topless and, since my boobs haven't seen the sun since I lived down in Redondo, my poor boobies are toasted.. :rolleyes:
