7cut - 6-27-2006 at 04:03 AM

btw. who is that guy who signed that myspace blog entry? bill h or something? new manager or assistant???

[Edited on 27-6-2006 by 7cut]

imanodoubtaholic - 6-27-2006 at 08:00 PM

i was wondering the same thing 7cut... it must be someone new. i wonder if they're still with the same tour manager, i found out he's from the same area as me! which is weird because i live in the middle of nowhere.

7cut - 6-28-2006 at 01:40 AM

is that the same guy who used to manage Rammstein / Marilyn Manson?

blogbourri - 6-29-2006 at 10:20 PM

Bill H?? If it's the guy I'm thinking of, he's worked w/ Mindless Self Indulgence and The Dresden Dolls. That would be a mighty cool development.

Evil - 7-9-2006 at 08:35 PM

indeed an oldie

draconian - 7-9-2006 at 10:49 PM

Chip is an old classic, can't wait to hear the updated version. It was one of their best from the old, old, demos.

imanodoubtaholic - 7-10-2006 at 02:18 AM

oh evil, we love you.:D

BillH - 7-10-2006 at 04:02 PM

Yes, that would be me, blogbourri. I work with Mindless Self Indulgence, The Dresden Dolls, and Lansing-Dreiden among others. We recently just started working with Ima on the She Wants Revenge tour/upcoming release of "Monument To The Masses." In conjunction with the band, I've been handling the MySpace, which is why you'll be seeing my name pop up there from time to time. We've been working very hard to keep the information flowing to you as we receive it, and are currently trying to make sure we integrate some cool Ima related backgrounds/banners which fans can use on their own pages.

I will be sure to share the links as soon as they're done. My email is billh@bratmarketing.com should anyone have suggestions for the page, or have any additional questions. In the meantime here are a couple (admittedly very basic) AIM Icons:

idreamptofUmbrella - 7-10-2006 at 06:25 PM

I'm puting my money on september. i'm totally over getting my hopes up.

Evil - 7-10-2006 at 06:32 PM

imanodoubtaholic - 7-10-2006 at 06:45 PM

corkey16 - 7-11-2006 at 05:18 PM

Why!!!!!! :( I can't wait that long!!!

Noisemonster - 7-11-2006 at 06:32 PM

:) That's good to know the track listing. I'll memorize it until the album comes out.. Interesting that there's no song from the EP on it!
but too bad that the release date is postponed again! :(

7cut - 7-12-2006 at 04:30 AM

So fine, now I have a birthday present for myself with the record out in September ...aaah, 24 years.

Noisemonster - 7-12-2006 at 05:17 AM

I hope that it doesn't turn out to be my birthday present (October 22nd..)

poobs - 7-12-2006 at 04:38 PM

I'll get it the day after my birthday..:D And thanks for your info, Bill..:duh:

The Beat = The Beat Goes On???

I do recall them saying they'd re-recorded an old favourite.

Just speculating...it's getting very exciting!

idreamptofUmbrella - 7-13-2006 at 10:21 AM

old favourite = chip off the block

idreamptofUmbrella - 7-13-2006 at 10:27 AM

i wonder if fibonacci and friend of my life are real songs.

TurtleEnterprises - 7-13-2006 at 01:46 PM

Darn this was a birthday present to myself had it been in august, owell their worth the wait.

vanityclear - 7-13-2006 at 04:12 PM

Chip Off the Block: Where can I find it? It's on the list of about ten bot songs that I don't have, and it's driving me nuts!

TurtleEnterprises - 7-13-2006 at 09:26 PM

Good Luck, we at the dot net dont share much. hahaha. So rarieties stay that way.

i found that track list on two different sites, both of which were CANADIAN (those silly bastards) so maybe there's some sort of version with those on it? ohhh that sounds exciting to me.

blogbourri - 7-14-2006 at 09:42 AM

I really wish the Ima Robot "acetate" would turn up with all those b-sides (released or otherwise). 't would make my day.

For some random reason, I was given a phone interview with the band last week (which I'm still transcribing), and was sent an advance copy.

Not sure I like the album nearly as much as Search & Destroy.

imarob2 - 8-27-2006 at 06:55 AM

nice interview!
it is sad that the label dictates what facet of the band will be displayed on the new album. but i'm still amazed by the diy release of search and destroy; not many bands would have the balls to try that.

synapticblur - 8-28-2006 at 06:34 AM

yeah, i was pleasantly amazed with their decision to release it.

makes you wonder what else they're sitting on...

beedun - 8-31-2006 at 06:47 PM

WOOOHOOO!

I've had the opportunity to hear the whole new album!

Everyone is in for a treat because it kicks ass!

Excellent songs, I really like what they did with Chip Off The Block. There are a couple slower songs that are so beautifully written, damn its awesome. And Eskimo Ride, a song about space, traveling & eskimos? Only Ima robot could pull that off, it also sounds straight out of the 80's I LOVE IT!

I can't wait for everyone else to hear this album! Ah the wait!!!!!

[Edited on 1-9-2006 by beedun]

Phobiac - 8-31-2006 at 09:38 PM

Amazing that it's still downloadable on .com. Don't they check who is posting stuff over there!

Yeah, Eskimo Ride is a fun one. Maybe the song is about enjoying the here and now....you know...enjoying the moment...you know...enjoying it with Carl Sagan and Eskimos.

Pouring Pain and Cool Cool Universe...Winners!

Phobs

beedun - 9-1-2006 at 06:47 AM

yeah dude, eskimos. Best album i've heard in a long long time.

minimandy14 - 9-1-2006 at 05:02 PM

I'M LISTENING TO IT RIGHT NOW! ooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. . . it's good.

CorporateTrash - 9-12-2006 at 06:02 PM

okay, it came out today and somehow it's already on sale for 10.99?

malright

beedun - 9-12-2006 at 06:08 PM

Drats! mine was 11.99

poobs - 9-13-2006 at 07:07 AM

I got mine for $9.99..:P

corkey16 - 9-22-2006 at 03:21 PM

Got mine today at Best Buy!!!!!

topher4000 - 9-30-2006 at 12:41 PM

I'm finding it really difficult to get hold of this in the UK and it's driving me crazy!

I'm moving to Germany in just over and week and was hoping to get it before then as I'd imagine it's even harder come across in mainland Europe.

Can anyone make any suggestions as to how I get hold of the album?!

idreamptofUmbrella - 9-30-2006 at 01:53 PM

internet?

topher4000 - 10-1-2006 at 01:44 AM

I've been trying to get it online, but without success. I had it on order on the UK Amazon site who were sourcing it through Amazon US, but after two weeks of no progress I cancelled the order.

I've now got it on Special Order from HMV.co.uk, but that is slow progress too.

beedun - 10-1-2006 at 06:32 AM

Doe anyone else here think that the record label is fucking with Ima Robot, or not happy with them?

imarob2 - 10-1-2006 at 10:51 AM

ive talked to other bands who say that just because theyre on a major label, doesnt mean that their cds are easy to find. its shitty, but the labels dont wont produce tons of cds if they dont think theyre gonna sell.

blogbourri - 10-2-2006 at 11:39 PM

If the label doesn't drop them after this album, I'll be pretty surprised.

-Devin.

I'm going to have to say. YES. I can't find the album here, I have to wait until my mom gets back from Cali until I can FINALLY listen to it! GAH!

beedun - 10-3-2006 at 05:47 AM

I can't belive the download links are still in the forums at imarobot.com. I told Timmy about that ages ago and they haven't done anything about it, funny but weird at the same time. They have even updated the look of the forum since then.
