MA ROBOT Will Tour in October With All-American Rejects

NEW YORK, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin Records electro-rockers IMA ROBOT are joining All American Rejects on the road for a series of dates that spans most of the month of October. The tour follows the release this week of the second IMA ROBOT album, MONUMENT TO THE MASSES, and the conclusion of a summer tour series with She Wants Revenge.

The band is penetrating every level of new and old media in the early phase of album release: The album's irresistibly danceable kick-off single, "Creeps Me Out" is already pulling Top 5 phone requests at Los Angeles' Indie 103, and is currently listed as No. 2 alternative specialty record in Friday Morning Quarterback.

A special album premiere and feature, along with a fan video contest, has triggered over 1 million total plays of new album tracks on the IMA ROBOT MySpace page. Also, the group has taped a live studio performance for "Critical Eye," part of Yahoo!'s "Who's Next" program, featured on the Yahoo! Music website front page. Following a live concert gig by the band, David Herstein (better known as Doctor Sinister of Sinister Sounds, http://www.live365.com/ raved: "They were excellent, and I'll be playing every cut off the new CD, probably till the next one comes out!"

"Creeps Me Out" will be used in the forthcoming Playstation 2 videogame ATV Off Road Fury 4. Over 3 million copies have been pre-ordered of the new installment of this popular series.

Since the release of IMA ROBOT's first Virgin Records album, "Ima Robot," in 2003, the band has drawn enthusiastic comparisons to Devo, David Bowie, the Cars and Iggy Pop, and is now clearly positioned to take leadership of the electro-rock movement they helped foment in modern music.

It's awesome that they are coming to the east coast, so I can see them again, but what is up with touring with the All American Rejects, Ima Robot deserves a lot better than that...Whatever happened to playing shows with the white stripes and hot hot heat. Of course I'm still gonna see them in new york though.

When are they coming back, I missed this because I was stupid and couldn't bear the idea of going to an AAR concert. Now I regret it entirely and have never seen IR live still. How often do they come to Boston?

DoktorJesus - 7-9-2007 at 05:56 PM

They'll be touring again in october this year, but there aren't many more details than that.
