How do you get this on the game? Anyone Know?

SKG - 7-17-2007 at 03:37 PM

well, first. u have to have one of those chips inserted in ur ps2 or xbox that lets u play burned dvd's games ect. then u have to download all this stuff on your computer and make a song list or something. i dont have one. i wish i did. cause i would make a whole game of ima robot.

beedun - 7-17-2007 at 07:06 PM

Looks rather simple, try Jordan by Buckethead and watch your fingers melt if you can pull it off on expert...

Regardless kudos for making this, I read something a while back on how to do it and it looked like a pain in the ass. I would definitely dig playing this though.

im so great at this game.

IMAKFRIED - 12-29-2007 at 01:18 PM

Showoff
Hahaha jk.
Ya plausible to do on 360 or wii but not ps2. Since PS2 Doesn't have a hard drive you can't really store stuff too well. By then you need a mod chip (25-200$ depending on the system) that will actually let you play the game, In short, not worth it.

Sarbear - 12-30-2007 at 06:45 AM

That's pretty sweet. I do have to admit. But I would play that game under one condition and that is if some one gives me the guitar and paint the town red was the song that was about to play. I have nothing against the game, More power to you if you are amazing at it because that takes skills, but I'm not that talented. I would be if Paint the Town Red was apart of it.

IMAKFRIED - 1-28-2008 at 08:26 PM

Paint the town red is an awesome song. The first one i ever heard of ima robot.

I heard that if you send a song and 20$ to Redoctane (The GH Maker) then they will put that song onto the game for you.

You can download Frets on Fire for free, convert your MP3 into OGG files with Audible and make any song you wish. Its fun and free, try it out.... If you are like me and own a Wii you can get a bluetooth device for your pc to give you the ability to use the wiimote and guitar with Frets.....

IMAKFRIED - 1-29-2008 at 06:26 PM

Or convert ps2-usb and do it that way too. I'm gonna do it. :)

SKG - 1-29-2008 at 06:38 PM

i was thinking someone would put songs for download on the internet for the ps3. cause they have it for ps2. you just burn it to a dvd and it works. i would think it's easier for ps3

beedun - 1-29-2008 at 08:07 PM

I have read that it can be done for the PS2, but you have to have a modded PS2 in order to play the game....

IMAKFRIED - 1-29-2008 at 08:25 PM

Ya beedun is right, the ps2 has to be modded. But the frets on fire should work pretty well since its straight off your computer.

i know it's possible for the ps3 to do it. we just have to wait till some genius asain finds it out :)

beedun - 1-30-2008 at 05:29 PM

Are their mod chips available for the PS3 yet? If not then you could load linux on the ps3 and put frets on fire on there :) Frets is available for linux.....

SKG - 1-30-2008 at 06:44 PM

the ps3 doesn't need mod chips. it's like a computer. i can't really explain it, but i know someone could do it.

Nice work. I wouldn't have thought of that. Just does the ps3 have the necessary hardware to run it error-free? Like i know running a ps2 emulator on a computer doesn't work too well because of hardware compatability. (Thank god GBA and SNES emulators still work :))

beedun - 1-31-2008 at 09:45 AM

They make linux mods for the PS3, they make Fret on Fire for Linux as well so I don't see a problem....

SKG - 1-31-2008 at 05:53 PM

when you buy a song for guitar hero you download the file, i know someone can make their own files like that, just nobody has posted it yet.

Worth a try.

I'm gonna get an ps2-usb adapter (i know i already said that) and use fof. Sounds cool. I have my ps2 stuff connected more to my computer than my ps2. My eyetoy is my webcam. :)

beedun - 1-31-2008 at 06:25 PM

the only downside to frets on fire, something I haven't mentioned yet, is that you have to map out all of the notes you want to play in the editor..... Takes a while to do for each song, but worth the it

SKG - 1-31-2008 at 06:36 PM

pft, forget that

IMAKFRIED - 1-31-2008 at 07:02 PM

Oh.... Hmmm Its worth it. So you could make it the easiest song on earth. :)

beedun - 2-1-2008 at 07:33 AM

exactly.

Or you could just smash all the keys and make something impossible like I did.... Somewhere on the net someone made a Frets on Fire track for The Beat, im sure if you do some searching you can find it if interested...

Sweet. Thanks. I need that adapter still though. I might just build one myself.

SKG - 2-1-2008 at 06:48 PM

that sounds cool.
