i have to admit, macs are kind of amazing. and they look nice. and the're fast... mabey i do like them better than pcs. i want a mac now

I think it all depends what you want to do with your computer if you should choose a Mac or PC. I don't think one is really better than the other
unless you get down to specifics. For example, my main computer use is playing computer games and the game makers don't support Mac's worth a shit so
I have to side on the PC... If All I did was download music/movies and surf the web then a mac/pc/or linux would work just fine for me.
I also build my computers from scratch, hand picking the best components instead of getting the crap you would get when you buy a dell or gateway type
PC. Macs are great for their simplicity and they look pretty but you cant do much to them to modify them like you can a PC, plus there is a lack of
software compared to the PC.
I would however, if I had the need and cash buy a IMac for our house, probably for my son
