Sarbear - 3-16-2008 at 06:44 AM

ha ha that's great. I used to have that exact gameboy the purple color one.

minimandy14 - 3-16-2008 at 08:32 AM

OH man! I had a purple one too! lol yeeeaaaaaa. . . .

neckbeard - 3-16-2008 at 08:39 AM

i had a green one.

imarob2 - 3-16-2008 at 01:38 PM

whoa mines purple too
i wish i still had the big ol original gameboy though that thing was awesome

Sarbear - 3-16-2008 at 05:48 PM

I still do have the big original gamboy, but it's not the grey one so i guess it's not original it was the Green one. It's funny how the color died, and I still have the older one.

Sarbear - 3-16-2008 at 05:49 PM

The old one was a good 2.5 inches think also. And was basically a brick.

imarob2 - 3-16-2008 at 09:05 PM

haha yeah SO big
in the commercials the cool kids always put them in their pants pockets and i was so jealous cuz i didnt have five foot pockets to lug around my gameboy
i'd totally trade my purple color for your green brick

Sarbear - 3-17-2008 at 10:29 AM

No, my Green Brick has been very loyal to me. I will keep it till either it dies or i die

Sarbear - 3-17-2008 at 10:30 AM

plus i have a little teal colored gameboy, and remember when the first pocket game boys came out? Yea, well i have the yellow pocket gameboy to.

My parents thought I needed one of each apparently. Even though I dont really play video games, but Mario is always good.

SKG - 3-18-2008 at 04:39 PM

I HEARD ABOUT THIS MUSIC AWHILE AGO! but i forgot what it was called. i love it. thank you neckbeard. but explain to me how it works.

neckbeard - 3-19-2008 at 01:19 PM

some people make music directly from their gameboys..and some put old atari chips in keyboards and/or synths and make music that way.

alot of chiptunes come from sweden i believe.

SKG - 3-23-2008 at 08:54 AM

i was flipping through the downloads and found this really good guy. his name is mike denardo. or mark. i don't remember. but i really liked it.

Sarbear - 3-23-2008 at 05:45 PM

Justy downloaded some also.

SKG - 3-23-2008 at 10:38 PM

it makes me sad. i'll download some great ones. then a bunch of crappy ones.

Sabrepulse is the best.

Sarbear - 12-15-2008 at 01:56 PM

12Equals3 is teaching JPG and I how to use this one program in order to make some 8bit music i'm way in the learning process.

Neuwave - 12-15-2008 at 07:24 PM

So glad you guys posted about this. I've been wondering how to do 8-Bit songs. If you guys got any pointers, please let me know. I'd love to get in on this. There's a show that has been on for a few years, and getting more & more popular on KSPC 88.7 Claremont Friday nights @ 8pm, and it also plays reruns thoughout the week. It is killer.

Click:
Video Game Music Show Friday Nights 8pm

They stream also, so check it out this FRiday.

Well, 12equals3 seems to be more learned up on at least a few of the other options of programs. As of now, the program he is using is LSDJ, a program you use on a Gameboy emulator (same one Neckbeard was using above^). Yes its great fun, and frustrating. I can u2u you some links to get started. it was easy because I had 12equals3 show me how to use it in its basic ways. Also, there are good helpful websites out there.

Neuwave - 12-16-2008 at 06:18 PM

i tried to Google a few weeks back to see if there was any subjects on this, but nothing came up. Yeah I'd definitely like to get those links.

By the way, I lived in Kalamazoo for 5 years as a kid.

here is the LDSJ.gb file
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XCTVJ65S

You open that in this program called KiGB (or a different GameBoy Emulator if you want)

JPG - 12-17-2008 at 06:17 AM

OH, and if you google search "how to use LSDJ" or something, it'll helps you out.

DUDE!!!

Neuwave - 12-17-2008 at 08:45 PM

Are you kidding me?? It's that simple? It's a Gameboy? I totally tripped, and didn't recognize what was on the pic. I just asked my nephew if he had one, and he broke out with this one(pic'd below)!! I've already got an idea. I just really need to study this software for a while. Thanks so much!!

Clarification: I don't mean simple as in I can do this, but where I need to start. I'm "Old-School Coleco-Vision", and kinda lost interest after that, but can't wait to check this out......ThankS!! AgaiN!

Thanks Sarbear!

Yes Delta. I heard one of the Guero Tracks a while back on 8-Bit MySpace(I think they may have did it, or another one), and was blown away.
