But as far as Michigan both prop in michigan

yes to medical weed

and

yes to stem cell research funded by the michigan taxes

jellybones - 11-8-2008 at 10:36 AM

poobs - 11-8-2008 at 10:55 PM

My mom and her fiance voted Yes..I couldn't believe it..One of my best friends is gay and my mom LOVES him with all her heart..Before he came out, she always said she hoped we would end up together..Honestly, I think she ended up voting yes because of her man..He's a MAJOR right-winger..

neckbeard - 11-9-2008 at 09:29 AM

that suckssssssssssss

elblueblazer - 11-9-2008 at 01:47 PM

TurtleEnterprises - 11-9-2008 at 06:18 PM

I knew it was gonna pass. I voted against it. I too believe anyone should be able to marry. Grrrr.

imarob2 - 11-9-2008 at 06:38 PM

i blame the rednecks. we had a similar prop that passed in michigan two years ago. gotta "protect the family" or some shit, right?

poobs - 11-9-2008 at 06:50 PM

It's not rednecks..It's ultra conservatives, religious people, and old people..You can't knock them for their beliefs..It's just a bummer they can't recognize that love is love..

yeah, thats what my dad said.
he said that if same-sex marriage was passed, it would make his marriage "not as special".

HOW is it not as special?

poobs - 11-10-2008 at 07:29 PM

How DARE you call me a liberal!!! I'd rather shave off my nips!

I'm a pretty liberal conservative, though..I don't agree with the crazy right-wingers, but I also don't agree with a lot of the bleeding heart liberals..To be honest, the media and celebrities have turned me off of the Democratic party almost more than anything..

So Brody and I were planning on attending one of the big rallys in San Diego tomorrow..But we'd have to wake up kind of early and it might be a huge pain in the ass to get down there and park and stuff..I really want to do it and I think it would be a good experience for Brody, but I'm so tired of waking up early and I get totally stressed if I don't know exactly where I'm going and stuff..Lame, huh?

JPG - 11-14-2008 at 09:37 AM

Just curious, how old is your son?

poobs - 11-14-2008 at 04:07 PM

He's 12..And he's awesome.. :)

I've decided not to go..Not to sound cheap, but thinking about the gas money to drive down there and having to pay for parking got to me..Things are tight and I'm really not spending any more money than I have to..I'm kind of bummed but maybe there will be a rally close to me soon..

Evil - 11-14-2008 at 06:27 PM

FUCK THIS NOISE

i am so upset about this. my sister just married her girlfriend on halloween and then this bullshit .... why did we even vote on this ? it shouldn't be a question. are we going to vote on whether or not african americans should be slaves again ? eff no, right ? it's the same type of thing..... everyone should be equal and have the same rights.

Gas is 1.90 here in Grand Rapids MI. Thats cool because it only cost $30 to fill my tank now and Sara and I just drove to Detroit to see Dredg

So ok... if you were already married, does that just become void or something? how does that work?

SKG - 11-17-2008 at 09:15 PM

my parents wanted to put a yes on prop 8 sign in the front yard. i told them if they did i'd have to take it down. then she gave me a lecture blah blah blah man and woman blah blah adam and eve not adam and steve. whatever. i think it was all the churches. and doesn't the constitiution say something about the church not interfering with laws? and also not letting them marry is unconstitutional. we have the right to our pursuit of happiness. and for some people that happiness is marrige. so it's unconstitutional to not let them marry. rigtht?

I was wondering about that, but also the states that you are legal to get married in, people flee there to tie the knot and then go back home. You just have a marriage license from a different state. Like people who marry in Vegas.

minimandy14 - 11-22-2008 at 11:45 AM

The Constitution was made to PROTECT our rights not to PREVENT them. Re-fuckin-diculous is what it is. If I was in Cali, I would be furious! Hell I'm not even in cali and I AM furious!

I too was wondering though about when these laws come into effect. They passed a bill here in Memphis that any city official cannot serve more than two terms. Our current Mayor (Harrington) is now on his like 5th term and he's the shittiest mayor EVAR this city, I've only been here for two years but GOD! I mean really! So my question though is this, does it count the times that he ran before this passed? Or can he run one more time?
