Janglin' Soul

imarob2 - 1-25-2009 at 03:48 PM

I found a fine-sounding version of janglin soul here

i'll put it on the 4shared and call it 'live II'

neckbeard - 1-27-2009 at 06:37 AM

i think youre right.

the new simplest love sounds pretty much like the same recording we already have.

JPG - 1-27-2009 at 07:35 AM

In the context of the web page, talking about all the live show it seems to be a recording from the show... but it just sounds way to good, no crowd noise or anything weird.

neckbeard - 1-27-2009 at 12:27 PM

yeah, its real.
so we have real versions of

Carries On (myspace rip)
Janglin' Soul
Simplest Love

is that it for album versions?

Delta - 1-27-2009 at 12:52 PM

what about "Home" ?

I only have a snippet of carries on...

unless joy is my armour counts. does it count?

i posted the best version of home on the 4shared:]

neckbeard - 1-27-2009 at 01:44 PM

uhhh.
im not sure if "Joy Is My Armour" is making it to the album.
he hasn't said anything yet.......

uh, that full version of Home we have is a demo i think....im pretty sure.
and i have a 96 myspace rip of the new carries on.
i still kept the snippet, cause it's the demo version.
i'll put the 96 myspace Carries On on the 4shared

Delta - 1-27-2009 at 01:47 PM

danke Neck

I thought the Home is the final version, its the same as the snippet, unless the snippet was a demo?

neckbeard - 1-27-2009 at 01:50 PM

yeah, the snippets for
Carries On
Home
Kisses Over Babylon

are all demos.
im 99% sure....
but i guess someone can ask alex.

neckbeard - 1-27-2009 at 01:52 PM

oh, and i guess we have a somewhat album version of
"On My Mind"
and an instrumental album version of
"Up from Below"

i cant wait for album versions of
40 DAYS DREAM
OM NASHI ME !!!

We've come back to hear the
Janglin' soul
Wo

Bang that ???
If your god is on paper
Then your god will surely burn
And for all my ??? teachers
We'd leave in things to learn
??? forgotten
??? dead
And we're out to blow the trumpet
To wake you all from bed
from beed
We want to feel love
We dont need to give love
We've come back to hear the
Janglin' Soul
Wo

Bang that ???

Say you can read the mail
You can be at home
If you can read the mail now
You can bring it home

Yes I did notice that. I just happen to be on their myspace listening to music yesterday instead of my itunes, I didn't catch the different lyrics right away but I did notice that the sirens in the begining are a lot louder.

Sarbear - 2-9-2009 at 07:24 AM

Lets pay a Million dollars and see only a hand full of bands we like and stand next to all the fans of the bands we dont like.

I prefer basement parties and old churches.

iaMkcK - 6-18-2009 at 09:20 PM

I tried to come up with a more full lyric build, since we had a lot of question marks in previous lyrics. I really hope I'm not fudging up any lyrics too bad..

I listened to the mp3 on the myspace a good hundred times, and also used some live versions to get a more appropriate feel to the lyrics... I think I got the first sentence right, and the breakdown...

Any opinions? Might as well breathe some life into this topic! :-)

[Verse One]
Well the mommas, they left us, And the daddies, took a ride;
And we walked out of the castle, And we held our head up high;
And I walked towards the jesters, In the kingdom by the sea;
And now we're off to be the masters, For to set our spirit free;

Set Freeeeeeeeee

[Chorus]
We want to feel love! HEY!
We don't need to give love! HEY!
We've come back to hear the Janglin' Soul! Woo!
Ed-ward and the, Mag-net-ic Zer-os!

[Verse Two]
Well your whole town is funny, Your guns don't bother me;
I said we're off to prove the true love, The man from Galilee;
Your love's all for dummies yea, Your institution's dead;
I said we're out to blow the trumpet, To wake you all from bed;

From Beeeeeeeeed

[Chorus]
We want to feel love! HEY!
We don't need to give love! HEY!
We've come back to hear the Janglin' Soul! Woo!
Ed-ward and the, Mag-net-ic Zer-os!

[Breakdown]
Say we can't read the mail, We can't bring it home;
If you can't read the mail now, We can't bring it home;
'Stead wrote your letters, Gave us your tales;
Blow wind like waves now, To magnetic air;

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

[Chorus]
We want to feel love! HEY!
We don't need to give love! HEY!
We've come back to hear the Janglin' Soul! Woo!
Ed-ward and the, Mag-net-ic Zer-os!

iaMkcK - 6-24-2009 at 07:25 PM

A buddy of mine kind of brought this to my attention:

[Chorus]
We want to feel ya! HEY!
We don't mean to kill ya! HEY!
We've come back to heal ya Janglin' Souls! Woo!
Ed-ward and the, Mag-net-ic Zer-os!

Also, I heard on the 3rd line, as a better replacement:

And we once was the jesters, In the kingdom by the sea;

What say thee?!?

You did better then I would have. I agree with most of it, I'd have to listen to it word for word several times to fix the errors that my ears heard but my brain can't comprehend.

iaMkcK - 6-25-2009 at 02:30 PM

Feel free, let's try and get some definitive lyrics? :-D

Delta - 7-18-2009 at 03:46 AM

janglin kinda sounds like "well respected man" by the kinks kinda
