Hustle Roses' video for "Alive," which was directed by fashion photographer Tamar Levine.

Tequila Mockingbird drops Feb. 1 via iTunes + Amazon. Please tell us you "got" that pun on "to kill a mockingbird."

Some background info on Hustle Roses:

While The Oohlas were waiting to get out of their record deal, singer/guitarist Hustle Roses (Ollie Stone) was quietly locked away in her Los Angeles apartment crafting the first songs she would ever write outside of The Oohlas. Armed with her ukulele gained out on a little fender twin amp, she began compiling a collection of loner songs on GarageBand.

A few months later, while in New York to re-work The Oohlas' "Lemmings Anthem" into a dance song, Hustle Roses shared her demos with her friend Jonathan Benedict (of Lindbergh Palace) who immediately recognized the potential to turn them into a much bigger sound. The duo promptly got to work building a sonic soundscape behind these early GarageBand songs at his studio in Brooklyn. Since then, Hustle Roses has compiled 30 songs over the past three years, working with songwriters all over Los Angeles and New York. The four tracks presented on her new EP are, according to Hustle Roses, "love songs written to the earth on tequila and hundreds of walks over bridges connecting the two most important cities in my life so far."

EP track "85 Blocks" was written by Hustle Roses and Sia Furler and produced by Joakim Åhlund of The Teddybears. The rest of the EP was produced by Tim Anderson who is responsible for Mr. Little Jeans and Ima Robot.
