takeoutmusic.com compares the band to Mindless Self Indulgence, who you astute fands will remember Ima Robot opened for at The Troubador last year:

"REVIEW: IMA ROBOT - S/T
by Chucky Demillo

After listening to the debut CD of this band based out of Los Angeles, the only way I can describe them is a cross between Mindless Self Indulgence and Hot Hot Heat. Or you could say they just sound like a more focused, song-based version of MSI. This album is nothing but a ball of whacked out frenetic energy and I can’t wait to see how nuts they are in concert because it sounds like they would be.

Looking over their bio, it looks as though the bassist and drummer were both serious studio/hired gun musicians with some pretty good gigs. They both played for Beck, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, Tori Amos etc. If they both quit their day jobs to join this band, I am pretty sure they will be a bad assed band live.

Stand out songs include the first single “Dynomite”, “Let’s Talk Turkey” and “Here Come The Bombs”. These songs sound like nothing else on the radio right now. That has to be in their favor because if I hear that stupid Smile Empty Soul song again, I will die.

Looks like I am dead.
