sooooooo...I thought maybe, just maybe since yr post was at 930am, that yesterdays airing was going to be this morning, hmm, confused, cool...well at 230am pst ...no subterranean, but anyhow, there are quite a number of ads and pictures of the album for sale in the LA weekly that just came out. uh, related...of course it is...

The Tivo (which has a mind of its own, frankly better than ours most of the time) is set to record Sub tonight.

So what do these ads look like? Curious to see if they're using critical praise in them, or going in with a different approach.

nurzetrev - 10-17-2003 at 06:57 PM

well...these ads range from basic LP cover image 1x1 (?) grouped with other albums for sale with no description to a similar 'Amoeba' record store full color ad with a caption of ...
(Lp image) "IMA Robot's glam-colored new wave
is supported by well-crafted songs, with hints of darkness in the lyrics that announces IMA Robot as a both retro and futuristic" (?) --Hits ...
then a LINCS (local independent Network of Cd stores) ad that has 6 albums on display (around 2x2";) with the LP and nice misprint for the 29th show (prints 29th at the Troubadour--duh).
Then a Tower rec. "next BIG thing" ad
with caption next to Lp cover...
"L.A. disco-punk rockers reinvigorate sleepy modern rock with one staggering debut disc"
(that's perty kewl)...
and I think that's it...oh, and the ROxy (color) listing that's got the RoBo logo (even though there is some weird rectangle messing up the graphic)...
The decent thing about this issue is that it's the
"best of LA 2003" and it's magazine style hardbound so to some it's a bit of a big ass ref. book.
word to your motherboard...so about that Troubadour show...?

Troubador Misprint

I bet LINCS but that together, there's still time for them to get a correction out next week. Sounds like a lot of promo targeted for that special issue. Phobiac might have one, maybe he can grab some scans.

Sweet! They did make the Subterranean spot.

I'll edit out the video and post the commentary from the band that was featured between the videos.

I'll put it up tomorrow evening.
