Yeah..why do people hate America?
There are some things I don't like about it and there are some things I like, but I can't see how someone would hate it.

Sometimes I think people mistake hating the government with the country and people. I know I might get carried away with political discussions on here but I do not hate Americans(I most likely will live in the US in hte future), although it is fun messing with them (Rick Mercers Talking To Americans). A lot of the time its just people getting carried away when discussing politics and morons that know dick all about what they are talking about(aka 98% of warped tour fans, haha)

ps
nice avatar, Amelie of one of my favorite foreign/french films

talking about foreighn films (and trying to stop this endless conversation on america) has anyone seen zebraman?

its a japanese story with the usual concept; loser in life becomes unkown superhero. its really funny and sweet, start outs as a satire but ends as an hommage.
certainly one of the most original movies i ever saw, perhaps one of my favourites. im think im gonna go see it in the cinema again

i was watching this movie in history were all these people went to the middle east after 9/11 happend and they were asking people why it happend and junk, and i think one of the reasons why people hate america so much is that there are just so many rumors about our government over there.

Hah, yeah "Rick Mercers Talking To Americans" is the best. Did you see that one clip where he talks to Bush?

haha, ya, that was funny. The one where he talks to Gore is good too. My favorite is when he asked a girl what her thoughts on prime minister Tim Horton getting a double double and explains to her that its when the pm has support from both sides of congress. When he talks about the dangers of exploring Joe Clarks hole or the construction of a bridge for our pm Peter Man and calling it the Peter Mans Bridge and the dangers of climbing on top of Peter Mans Bridge are some of my favourites as well.

bananaboat, do you like Rick Mercers new show Monday Report?

My guess as to why much of the world's opinion(or so it seems) of America has taken a negative turn is because of some American's doing petty things like changing the name of french fries to "freedom fries", all because the leaders of France didn't want to send in their military for a war created on "bad intelligence". Not to mention various American based multinational fast food corporations doing things like buying up valuable land in third world countrys and using it to grow grain and raise cattle, that could have otherwise been used to feed the people of that country. People of other countrys probably hear about negative things that a select few American's are doing, and make sterotypes about the whole country, much like how alot of American's make stereotypes about certain countrys.
