Something to think about these Terror Alerts.

Another sneaky plan from Bush:

Watch out guys. He tried to pull this a few weeks ago. He stole the first election, now he wants to delay the next, because he knows that’s the only way he can stay in office, and wreak havoc. I saw a great sticker yesterday that read “Four More Wars”. Good stuff.

Officials discuss how to delay Election Day
Talks stem from recent fears of terror attack timed to vote
Monday, July 12, 2004 Posted: 7:35 PM EDT (2335 GMT)

Sen. John Kerry, with running mate Sen. John Edwards, and President Bush are surrounded by supporters on the campaign trail.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. officials have discussed the idea of postponing Election Day in the event of a terrorist attack on or about that day, a Homeland Security Department spokesman said Sunday.
The department has referred questions about the matter to the Department of Justice's Office of Legal Counsel, said a spokesman, confirming a report in this week's editions of Newsweek magazine.
Bush's national security adviser Condoleezza Rice tried to put an end to the controversy Monday evening.
"We've had elections in this country when we were at war, even when we were in civil war, and we should have the elections on time. That's the view of the president. That's the view of the administration," she said. "No one is thinking of postponing the elections."
Newsweek said the discussions about whether the November 2 election could be postponed started with a recent letter to Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge from DeForest Soaries Jr., chairman of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.
The commission was set up after the disputed 2000 presidential vote to help states deal with logistical problems in their elections.
Soaries, who was appointed by President Bush, is a former New Jersey secretary of state and senior pastor of the 7,000-member First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset.
Newsweek reported that Soaries expressed concern that no federal agency had the authority to postpone an election and asked Ridge to ask Congress to give his commission such power.
Ridge warned Thursday that al Qaeda terrorists were planning a large-scale attack on the United States "in an effort to disrupt the democratic process." (Full story)
Ridge said he had no specific or credible information about threats to the political conventions. The four-day Democratic convention kicks off July 26 in Boston, Massachusetts, and the Republican National Convention begins August 30 in New York City.
Ridge also said the nation's color-coded terrorist threat level would remain at yellow, or elevated.
Democratic Rep. Jane Harman of California, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said Sunday that she believes planning for the possibility of postponing Election Day is "excessive, based on what we know."
"Six days ago, the leadership of the House and Senate intelligence committees and leadership of the House and Senate were briefed on these so-called new threats," Harman said on CNN's "Late Edition."
"They are more chatter about old threats, which were the subject of a press conference by Attorney General [John] Ashcroft and [FBI] Director [Robert] Mueller six weeks ago.
"[Ridge] sounded more like an interior decorator talking about what more we can do under the shade of yellow," she said.
The news that such discussions have taken place raised other eyebrows on Capitol Hill as well.
"I don't think there's an argument that can be made, for the first time in our history, to delay an election," said Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, a member of the intelligence committee.
"We hold elections in the middle of war, in the middle of earthquakes, in the middle of whatever it takes. The election is a statutory election. It should go ahead, on schedule, and we should not change it."
But the Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Christopher Cox of California, said on "Late Edition" that he sees Ridge's request as part of a prudent effort to plan for "doomsday scenarios."
"We don't have any intelligence to suggest that it is going to happen, but we're preparing for all of these contingencies now," Cox said.
Noting that New York election officials were able to postpone their September 11, 2001, primary election after terrorists slammed hijacked planes into the World Trade Center, Cox said "there isn't any body that has that authority to do that for federal elections."
"So what Secretary Ridge has asked the Justice Department to do is, 'Give me a legal memo, tell me what will be necessary. Do we need to go to Congress and get legislation?' "
What has Homeland Security officials worried is that terrorists could attempt to disrupt the election in the same way that train bombings in Madrid created unrest three days before the Spanish general election, the Homeland Security spokesman said.
Although there is no evidence that the bombings influenced the March 11 vote, socialist Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero unseated Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, whose center-right government supported the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
The country's new government then pulled Spanish troops from Iraq.

Man, can't make this stuff up...

Bush misspeaks during signing ceremony
McClellan: 'This president speaks with clarity and conviction'
Thursday, August 5, 2004 Posted: 2:19 PM EDT (1819 GMT)

President Bush makes remarks Thursday at a signing ceremony for the Department of Defense's 2005 Appropriations Act.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush offered up a new entry for his catalog of "Bushisms" on Thursday, declaring that his administration will "never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people."

Bush misspoke as he delivered a speech at the signing ceremony for a $417 billion defense spending bill.

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Bush said.

"They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
:lol::lol:

No one in Bush's audience of military brass or Pentagon chiefs reacted.

The president was working his way toward a larger point. "We must never stop thinking about how best to defend our country. We must always be forward-thinking," he said.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Bush's misstatement "just shows even the most straightforward and plain-spoken people misspeak."

"But the American people know this president speaks with clarity and conviction, and the terrorists know by his actions he means it," McClellan said.

OK, poobles. You know you my homegirl, so you can speak yo mind anytime. Maybe I'm out of the loop on the positive aspects of the Bush administration. Let's see I did like the $300 I got back when he first got into office, and ummm...

nope that's it.

oh, and Saddam was a fuckhead.

So he's human..OH SHIT!!! Let's all knock him for making a mistake in a speech..I'm sorry, but I like to know that my President isn't untouchable..He's a real person..As far as the war, you're glad Saddam is gone, correct? He has ALWAYS been a threat to the US..What would you have done after some disgusting terrorists killed so many of our people? Should we have just sat back and done nothing? No..We went to war in Afghanistan and broke up the Taliban..He had intelligence saying that Saddam had WMD..Should we have been passive and asked him to hand things over? Yes..We did..And he refused to let us search..So we got him..We didn't find WMD, but given a little time, he would have had some..I'm glad the threat from him is gone..As far as killing millions of people? Are you kidding me? By going to war? Having our MILITARY fight to protect us? Have you seen the number of people that were killed in one fucking day at the World Trade Centers?? What should we have done? Liberal bullshitters wouldnt' have gone to war..Thank goodness we have a President who's strong and not some sissy like Kerry..God forbid if anything were to happen on American soil if he should become President..

Did you also realize how much shit Bush has had to try to clean up from the Clinton administration? The economy, for one, was in the shitter thanks to Clinton..I think people need to look at the situation Bush had to come into..I think he's done a great job..Don't get me wrong, he's fucked up at times, but I stand behind him 100%..

And I'm done..Liberals, have your way with me and my statements..I'll see you at the voting booths..
:P

This is hardly Bush's first slip-up in a speech. The man just isn't very intelligent. He's proven it time and again. I'm all for having a down to earth, man of the people president, but I don't think our cocaine addled president qualifies. He's not very bright.

Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11 and posed no threat to us. Try again. The WMD was a red herring -- a total bait and switch scam that way too many Americans fell for. It's very sad.

Saddam was a cruel dictator. There are several dozen equally tyrannical dictators in power now all over the globe. Using the same logic the Bush administration applied to Iraq, any one of those rulers could pose a threat to the USA. Is it our responsible to clean the world of all despotism? I'd rather not risk the lives of our nation's youth to agitate problems abroad that could be solved by social revolution rather than military intervention.

I don't understand how conservatives resolve their unwaivering conviction that Bush DID THE RIGHT THING with the clear results of our military campaign:

- We are on high terror alert (though the whole color coding scheme is nothing more than a propagandistic function of the Bush administration. Go watch "The Village" for some heavy handed allegory along these lines...)

- Even with Bush's oil baron behavior, I'm still paying over $2 a gallon.

- Someone who has been ass raped by his cell mates every day for twenty years would probably still feel violated by airport security.

- The rest of the world hates us. I know, I know, the "Warriors of the Willing", or the "Super Friends" or whatever Bush calls it. Yes, the island of Palau still has our backs. But the nations and cultures that matter in global politics are not pleased with our foreign policy.

- Our civil liberties have been ass raped (see above). Ah, the land of the free, where I can't go to the library without having my reading habits monitored by the federal government. Big Brother sure does make me wanna feed beer to my horses!

I could go on, but that's enough political spew for the Ima Robot board. ;

Oh, but real quick -- the Clinton administration created more jobs than any other single administration. Inflation also dropped to its lowest rate since the 1960s.

Damn poobs, I knew you were going to say that.

You didn't know that Bush planned that whole WTC incident to support his master plan?

There would've been a lot more dead, if the important people hadn't been warned ahead of time. Instead he allowed firefighters, and few other unknowns as "collateral damage". I know it sounds far fetched, but does it?:(

I know I'm gonna get so much shit for saying that, and I have before, but that's what people like Michael Moore want to get at without saying it, because it's unimaginable, but seriously on any given day there should've been up to 50,000 people in the WTC. OK, I said it, and I'll never say it again. I still love ya pooby, and this is just my opinion.

Now, I must pack up, and change locations quickly before they find me.:lol:

More than 500,000 innocent people have died since Bush I went into Iraq to “liberate” them. Whenever the US goes into a country and tries to “liberate” it, it usually becomes even more fucked up. The only thing on Bush’s mind is oil and how him, his daddy or his friends can benefit from going into Iraq. I laugh my ass off when I hear people talk about this threat and how America should be vigilant and watch out. The way Bush is getting votes is by fear. Scare the American public, make yourself look like you are doing something about it to make America safe and you will get votes. Are Bush supporters blind? Don’t they see that the only people benefiting from the war are huge evil US corporations (the same ones that got huge tax cuts instead of the American people). Does it not concern you that right after 9/11 Bush was more worried about what would happen to the Bin laden family than his own people…then again, what do I know, I am a bullshitting Liberal…

My personal job experience was that things were going pretty great when Clinton was in. Jobs were to be had, good salaries, etc. Then Bush became President in beginning of '01. By the spring/summer of '01, the job marked completely tanked. And it hasn't picked up at all since then!!

I don't know the inner workings of job markets and economics, but I can't imagine the timing of it with Bush becoming president was pure coincidence.

And how is Kerry a sissy? Didn't he actually fight in Vietnam? How is he a sissy, and Bush is strong? That's completely backwards, isn't it?

Dick Cheney really really creeps me out.
