Garden State

Has anyone seen this movie? Zach Braff (from Scrubs) wrote, directed and stars in it. It's such an awesome movie. I highly suggest it.

Searchlights on the skyline
Just looking for a friend
Who\'s gonna love my baby
When she\'s gone around the bend
Egyptian bells are ringing
When it\'s her birthday
Sweet nothin\', I\'m talking about you
There\'s a hurricane blowing your way
Ooh such a beautiful way
To break your heart
Ooh such a beautiful way
To break your heart
There\'s someone calling your name
It\'s driving you insane

Natalie Portman really does it for me.

Quote:

Sam: Hey, I recognize you from T.V. Didn't you play the retarded quarterback?
Andrew Largeman: Yea
Sam: Are you really retarded?
Andrew Largeman: No

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Karl Benson: I though you killed yourself.
Andrew Largeman: What?
Karl Benson: That wasn't you?
Andrew Largeman: No, no, tha-that wasn't me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Andrew Largeman: You know that point in your life when you realize the house you grew up in isn't really your home anymore? That idea of home is gone. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people who miss the same imaginary place.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I'm going to kill that motherfucker.
Andrew Largeman: Pun intended?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sam: This is your one opportunity to do something that no one has ever done before and that no one will copy throughout human existence. And if nothing else, you will be remembered as the one guy who ever did this. This one thing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark: I'm okay with being unimpressive. I sleep better.

I was debating on whether I wanted to see this or not..At first it seemed like a lame love story, but now that I've seen more stuff on it, it looks like a quirky love story..Then again, I never seem to be able to get to see an "adult" movie when I go, so I guess it really doesn't matter what the movie is like..

I saw this movie tonight and it is a work of art. It was beautifully filmed, the script was written really well, Zack Braff is loaded with talent. I am glad to see that there are still good movies being made.

I have to see this movie too. I think Zach is cool. I watch Scrubs all the time, and last night it was a new season with Heather Graham they played Becks' "Lost Cause". He's got good taste in music too. I heard the soundtrack is killer.

The garden state soundrack is awesome, plenty of Shins. I usually love Natalie Portman, but Sam got annoying.

I thought Sam was great. She was weird, quirky and full of life, not matter how bad things got.

The Shins: I love

Natalie: Zach said in an interview that he had her in mind for the part.

Sam was sweet and all, but just seemed so ... dramatic? I dunno, something about her just irked me.

I love the shins too. I only have "chutes too narrow" I've been meaning to get the other.

I saw that interview as well, how sweet.

I saw it a couple weeks ago and forgot to come back and post about it. I fuckin loved it!! It's yet another of my favourite movies now and I definitely want to go see it again soon SOON. I love the theme song a lot too. I actually heard it like a month before I saw the movie, but after I saw it I couldn't get it out of my head. It's by Frou Frou. The movie was way cool.
