It's Flower's Mom here.

This is totally off the ImaRobot subject, but does anybody know how to care for a baby red-tail boa constrictor snake? One appeared in my daughter's room a couple of weeks ago. (Don't know how she thought she could keep it a secret from me. ) Then it escaped. So I bought a mouse to lure it back. The snake was gone for 10 days and it looked like we had a pet mouse instead. Then today I heard a shriek followed by "Mom, I found the snake!". It had slthered over her bare foot and scared her half to death. I thought it was pretty funny.
Anyway, it looks like we have a pet snake again. It ate the mouse.
Do I have to feed it live mice? It's pretty gross and I feel bad for the mouse. How often do they need to eat? Can I handle it after it eats or do I have to wait before picking it up? I need answers 'cuz you know I am gonna be stuck caring for it since Flower is now afraid to touch it. Any helpful snake adviceout there?

Kill it..That'll save you from having to feed it mice!! :duh:

I love you, Poobs - but I'm too chicken to kill it! (I laughed my ass off at your no-nonsense reply) I guess I'm just a hipocrite. I'll eat something someone else has killed but I can't kill anything myself. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Dunno. But the snake is kinda pretty in her own reptilian way!

Shhh..You want to know a secret? I wouldn't be able to kill it either..I love animals..:duh: I'm sure they have websites for this kind of thing..

I know!! Why don't you just force it to become a vegetarian?? It's not like it'll argue with you? And if it doesn't eat the veggies, then it'll die and your problem will be solved!!! :D

And tell your sissy daughter that she'll have to deal with it if she wants to keep it!!

Hey, Poobie! Where the hell is a meth lab in Excramento? I always thought So Cal was meth headquarters. (I'm a criminal defense attorney and the bastard Feds keep telling me Riverside and San Bernadino are Methamphetamine headquarters)

I guess I'll just have to deal with snake- E- poo! I'll keep you posted (ha ha ha PUN)

Can I talk to Brody about the cop stuff? He seems like such a good kid and I wouldn't want him to be misguided! There are good cops and bad cops, ya know.

I don't know any meth-lab locations up here..I've just heard about them..Uhh..Yeah..That's it.. I don't know..A lot of the people up here look like tweakers, so I just assumed.. My sister actually works for child protective services, and worked in juvie halls before that, and has seen her share of gnarly meth-addicts..Blech..

I think Brody is over his cop-phase..Though, I'm sure he would have been one of the good ones..Maybe a few beatings here and there, but I'm sure they would have all been justified..Now he's gone back to his original dream job..A paleontologist..:D

And defo keep us posted on the snake crisis! I might know some people who can "take care" of your problem, if you know what I mean..

And mom, why don't you get your own username?? I mean, it's nice that you and your daughter are close enough to share the same online persona and all, but it's just going to get confusing! Especially if you both become as addicted to this board like some of us here..We don't want you guys scratching each other's eyes out while fighting over posts!!

I'm afraid of snakes. Or maybe grossed out. Or both. And a paleontologist is an awesome job choice, I must admit.

I love snakes, i really want one or a rat. i couldn't deal with feeding my snake dead mice tho.

if you’re going to have this kind of animal you better know how to deal with it because exotics are very sensitive.
If you can't deal with it, sell it, it's only fair to the animal.
I've had a Red tail before but I was a little kid so don't remember how to deal with them.

I don't know. But if your looking for a realy good pet, I love rats.

OMG! My Mom is totally embarrassing saying I'm afraid of Buttercup (the snake). I admit, it freaked me out when it crawled over my foot, and I had a nightmare - but I'm NO SISSY, POOBS! (I'm taller than my mom, at 5" 9 1/2 " watch out!). I just decided I don't like snakes and we're giving it away to my friend.

Anyway - I banned my Mom from using my post name - so she is now "FlowersMom" (but she doesn't know how to log in (ha ha ha )! Now she can't embarrass me anymore!

P.S. I really love my mom (but it's MY ROBOT FORUM!)

After reading that Buttercup could live for 30 years and be 10 feet long and weigh 50 or more pounds, she is definitely way too much responsibility. Flower's friend is supposed to take her - I hope he is a responsible young man. If not - anybody want a snake??

BTW - "FlowersMom" is such a boring postname. How do you guys like "BellyBot" for bellydancing robot. I think it's funny, but then I'd get called "Belly" for short! Hmmmm.
