yep, it is called a "Dampfnudel" indeed. know what´s best ? Marillenknödel or various sorts of Strudel, like apple strudel or "topfen" strudel. but it´s not custard but warm vanilla sauce ...

my parents have a house in the country side like an hour off Munich and my Granny has a small villa with a bar and all ---gee damn, we could have a convention there she´d not mind and there even is a Finnish sauna in there ...

phobiac, it´s quite a ride from Frankfurt to Munich but you should come nonetheless ...i´d save a lot of "Glühwein" for Dangerous Robot and for you and everyone else coming over.
