a story, just for fun

if we all can't tell, Happy is bored
here is a story I enjoy.
enjoy
discuss
feel happy (no pun)

Zombie Public Limited Company by stanley donwood

For reasons too dull or humiliating to go into, I ended up blah blah blah. Single again, embittered or whatever. I once had a passable future but it had evaded me, or blah blah blah, with the dusty streets and the bars without clocks and the blah fucking piss off blah blah.
One of the days, I was just sitting watching the tumbleweed and the little tornadoes of dust on the road outside. A removal lorry pulled up and big men began carrying large articles of furniture shrouded in blankets up the steps to the empty house opposite my block. The people or the blah blah blah, but it wasnt for about a week until I realised that they were watching me. I can't continue with this.
give it to me straight.
I am living quietly, zombie public limited company move in over the road, the workers look at us with hungry eyes, we lock the doors but to no avail, they get in, they eat our brains, we are reborn as zombies, slaves to the company, but it turns out not so bad, being a zombie is ok, but really we want to be free or something.
i like your pitch. it's an interesting metaphor. we'll put a package together. create a buzz. we could be talking telephone numbers.

Me 2. I kind of feel bad, I have enough junk.
I can't help it, NEED MORE

I still want another album, they said they should pull one out after the break

Did you get to hear Greenwood's CD? I have it. Was upset it had no vocal cause I like his backing vocals, but after initial hesitation, I enjoy it very much

Yea, I dig it, though I can't say I listen to it all that often. Sometimes when I'm studying, I put it on in the background. :)

The thing about their break is, it could be a loooong time!

But that's ok. I still remember their long break after OK Computer. I was obsessed with the album. Then after a couple of years, they started updating a recording journal that Ed kept on their website. Rumors started flying. There was no idea what kind of music they were doing. It was a great way to build up to Kid A. I still remember how awesome it was to hear Kid A the first time after all that build up!

I know!
But I think a nice break good, keeps the band from parting

I loved all the albums so much. First was really impacted by the bends. Ok Computer blew me out of the water. When Kid A rolled along, hit my hard on I was dazed and fell into amnesiac. Once I recovered from this state HTTT placed its hand so gracefully on my shoulder. All and all, if you can't tell, I love the band.
They have this tint about them, inexpressible, but it fits me so well.

I might want to stop here, sadly I can go on and on about Radiohead.
You have gained 1000 happy points :D

Yea, I could go on and on too... and do sometimes!

Good point about the break. They always seem close to breaking up forever after every album.

Kid A is my favorite. Though I probably listen to the b-sides cds I've made the most... there's some great tunes they've only put as b-sides.

yeah, they have been VERY close to breaking up.
I understand I guess.

I totaly, my 40 something b-sides hold all my favorite songs.
great stuff, oh man.
it's kinda funny cause When I think of Radiohead I relate them more to there B-sides then Cd work.

"Cuttooth" is probably my favorite RH song, it has such an awesome vibe. I dream of them playing it live and me being there to see it. :)

I listen to "The National Anthem" REALLY loud in my car right before every exam I take in school. It gets me in the right mood for test-taking. :)

I saw them At Coors Amphitheatre in San Diego, last tour.
sunday September 28 2003
not the best venue, but it was the best show.
If I was old enough to drive I would of gone on years before and seen them at LA. I loved radiohead for about 7 years. It was the first time they had been to San Diego in over 8 years.
I was recently informed that Scott was at the same show...

Cool, yea they're definitely consistently in my favorite concert list. I saw them first in LA at the OK Computer tour, which was amazing.

But the best show was up in Toronto on the Kid A tour. That was some intensity! Probably one of the two best concerts I've ever seen. They played forever and there weren't seats and it was outdoors and it was killer. Two weeks after, I saw them again in Boston, and it seemed a little less intense, something was missing, especially in comparison with the earlier gig in Toronto. They were probably getting tired of touring by that point.

The Thief show last summer was impressive, but my seats were kind of far and I remember it mostly for my car battery crapping out and getting stuck in the parking lot after the show.

Did you hear about the DJ Shadow remix of "The Gloaming"? I downloaded it a week or two ago, it's not bad. This is the best part... here's a scan of what the record looks like from greenplastic.com:
