Italy is just referred to as the boot for its country shape. didn´t know the big apple was that complicated a story. wee.
here is zee travel report, i have to get it out
of my system:
Our host lives
a 5 minute walk from Ground Zero so it´s
pretty central. And it was so great hanging
out on its rooftop. New York is highly impressive
yet also a little bit intimidating, humid and dirty.
It makes European metropoles look like metrognomes / toy cities. I couldn´t live
there, it´s too large, too "cool" etc.
And as already mentioned I´ve grown to
hate air conditioning, it´s everywhere!
Didn´t catch flu but one of my eyes got
infected and I had to wear an eye patch,
giving a rather silly / pirate impression.
Been to three shows there, (Jon Spencer)
Blues Explosion (judah said i looked hot with
the eye patch --bollocks--), the Zom Zoms
and the Towers Of London (secret show, they directed a music video there....but we were
doing our best NOT to be seen in it and I
think we were successful...couldn´t find
Dyler ).
I like it how the subway is 24/7 and bars
are open till 4am (in Europe they shut down
at 1am among the week), subway, also.
Went to the Resfest to see the screening
of the Beck music videos and people
were applauding after each video, bit
silly. I realized that in the "Devil´s Haircut"
video the 1929 Cyclone rollercoaster of
Coney Island can be seen and WE`VE
BEEN RIDING ON IT! (GREAT!! cracks
like hell). I liked Coney Island, the fun
fair and the sea. What else....there was
a taxi driver who was blasting Barry White.
At Central Park zoo I was bitten by a piglet
(at petting zoo even). The water near
Strawberry fields in Central Park is GREEN.
The food in little Italy is far from being real
Italian, saw the Carlton Arms hotel,
celebrated my birthday at the wonderful
Korova Milk Bar (yes, looking like in "A
Clockwork Orange"

--I LOVE MOLOKOS!!!---
and a nice lofi bar with brilliant 80s jukebox.
At midnight it played Duran Duran. *sigh*
Saw the place where "kids" was filmed
- Washington Square Park. Been posing
with "the naked cowboy" at Times Square,
been on the traces of Patrick Bateman on
Wall street --btw. the George Washington
statue there looked like it had a clit.
Invented the term "corpse metal" (for very
hard music). Been at the Negativeland and
Truck art show. Been to the stupid Prada
store in Soho (which looks like a half pipe),
saw a weird staff guy at Patricia Fields and
checked out the glorious Kid Robot store
and St. Marks Place.
Been to the Bronx and Harlem (felt a little endangered there but less bad / dangerous
then expected...2 guys where dancing
to Missy Elliott on the subway with massive ghettoblasters. The guy from Cobrasnake.com
was in NYC but we made a good job avoiding
him.
Took a ferry ride to Staten Island where you
have a marvellous view on the statue of
liberty and Manhattan skyline. Mixed up the
MET with the MOMA (d´oh) and went out
in gorgeous Bedford. And i bought one of
those belts you can programme words into.
Unfortunately I forgot checking out TROMA
headquarters.
okay, you must be bored out of your mind.
i´m cutting it. Or I`m going on and on
and on and on ...i have lots of anecdotes
in the back of my head still.
