that it's wonderfully ironic that the current US administration tried to Westernize Iraq to the extent that they did, and are still fine with the Iraqi goverment choosing hanging as a capital punishment.

YOu know I was thinking the exact same thing this morning EN when I found out that he was hanged and not like I dunno, leathaly injected or something. . . .

I think that they should have just let him lived and rot in a cell!!! Death among someone, no matter what they did, is just un-american!! If this makes no sence, sorry, I'm very drunk right now!!

How is that ironic? We still use hanging as a form of execution in some states in the US..Now if they had burned him at the stake or something, that would have been "ironic", I guess..But not really..

I found it ironic because of certain western standards both written and unwritten and the level of sophistication that they imply in matters of human rights when related to warfare,and the United States Administration, leading of one of the largest western countries, is expected ,it seems, by a large amount of people to abide by those laws. Though perhaps you're right, and I shouldn't have found it as ironic as I initially did, given the current track record when concerning abiding the Geneva Convention and other standards.

i think forced democracy is an irony far greater than anything i could ever imagine.

And now they keep showing the video of him being hung on CNN! Something I didn't want to see!

I think it's funny how someone "illegally" filmed it with a cell phone and it "leaked" onto the internet, THAT I think was a set up, so people knew he was dead . . . .
