Allergic Reaction Last Night...Not Cool

This is what happened:

So when Emily and I were at D&W looking at all the different oreos packages I didn't realize that when I grabbed the one that said: "Send Us your Oreo Experience" that the night was going to turn out crazy wicked bad.

It was just a normal day at work didn't do anything out of the ordinary for me. Fed horses at foxfeild first, then went to holiday. Fed horses at holiday then worked in the garden for a few hours which consisted of cutting the grass and watered plants. Was fished working at 12, drove back to foxfeild to pick up my camera I left and when home and took a good nap from 1-3:46. Woke up called justy/emily/mike to figure out what the plans were for the night. (Hang out at mikes house)

Emly couldn't come till later so I had to go pick her up when she got back from getting a brand new 24inch apple computer for free because her other one broke. We made a quick pit stop at D&W to pick up something for me to eat because I was hungry. I know, Oreos because Greg was picking up milk for mikes house.

As Emly and I wandered through D&W like little ADHD kids trying to find just the right things to go with oreos (which ended up being nothing) we went to the oreo section and looked at all the Oreo and Oreo knock off packages trying to find the best one. I was just going to grab normal non-double stuff one when Emily and I spotted a package that said "Send Us Your Oreo Experiences" we went for that one instead.

Went back to mikes house and I opened the milk (which happened to not be fat free or skim milk which is what my family gets so I was super excited to drink it) and poured it into my little plastic cup that I always drink out of at Mikes house and sat in the LIVING ROOM at the COFFEE TABLE eating oreos, I just about finished a full sleeve when mike walked over and grabbed a few and went back to playing Justy in Mario.

This is where the problems start:
1st my index finger on my left hand started to itch, but not the skin it was like my bone felt like it was starting to itch. So i chewed on it like a dog for a few seconds and the itch went away for the most part.

2nd my finger started to swell extremely fast and I freaked out and yelled my finger is swelling. Everybody giggled because the didn't realize what was going on. I ran to mikes fridge and grabbed an icepack.

Side Note: When I get really nervous I laugh so everybody thought I was fine because I was laughing....But I was crying also because I had panicked. That is the first time in my life I can ever remember freaking out and panicking EVER, I work with horses who are un-trustable and have had multiple accidents and almost accidents and have never come close to the feeling that I had last night.

3rd, everybody walked over as I was sitting in the corner on the floor of mikes kitchen crying and panicking. I didn't know what to do so I called my Dad. He told me to come home.

4th, Justy drove me home and only happened to speed a little. (Which I was 100% fine with at that moment) I got home and my dad looked at it and kept asking me if I did ANYTHING out of the normal for me. "NO!" He asked me if I ate anything different and listed off the 2 bananas, 1 Philly Cheese Steak Sub (frozen in our freezer type), Brownie and 1/2, 1 sleeve of oreos and about 2 cups of milk. THAT IS ALL I ATE...

NO DRUGS
NO MUSHROOMS
NOTHING!!!!

5th, my dad drove me to the Urgent Care on Division and 68th Street and Justy wen back to mike's. Walked in with an ice pack on my hands and the lady at the desk couldn't have been nicer. I really liked her. They put me in a room and check my blood pressure (Which was up because I was panicked ) And asked me the questions that we all hate, do you smoke...

NO NO NO I DIDN'T DO DRUGS! (I was getting really pissed at that question) I didn't scream that at the lady but I wanted to because enough people had asked me.

Then they moved me to another room and a guy walked in and looked at me for 2 seconds, and said I'll be right back you'll get 2 shots and some oral steroids.

6th, I mooned my father as I got a shot in each butt cheek and took 2 little red pills. I forgot to mention that I'm not fond of needles in my system any more so after the male nurse left I laid down on the table and closed my eyes till the room stopped spinning. That's when I started to feel REAL sleepy because of what they gave me.

7th, Some guy started SCREAMING at everybody (By the way he was talking and his extremely deep voice we could tell he was African American) BULL SHIT BULL SHIT, he kept yelling. After listening to the Urgent Care Security come and wrestle him, held him down so by then he would listen to the doctor's orders.

8th, they moved us rooms because they were afraid for my safety with that crazy guy running around and I almost fell asleep waiting. Shortly after they moved us the guy came in and check on me one last time gave my a written piece of paper for some prescription and sent me on my way.

So Long story short. I'm not sure what I'm allergic to, I mooned my father while a male nurse gave me two shots in the butt, (after words my dad said the guy just wanted to look at my butt, real good to hear that from your father) and I couldn't sleep because everything was still swollen but not bad just swollen and my butt hurt. Also, I had to get up at 8 to be at work at 9. Hooray for me.
I didn't die, I did panic a ton because it was scary. Not Cool.

sadly, as we get older new allergies appear. I used to suffer from exercise induced anaphylactic shock.

If I had eaten shellfish or peanut butter the day before and when I went on a run the next morning...about six miles into the run, my palms would itch, arm pits would itch, hives all over, throat would constrict and saliva would thicken and I would get that saliva production like before you hurl...but couldn't swallow it.

Bummer part of it was that I would have to walk all they way back home and pop some benadryl to stop the reaction.

Now I run on an empty stomach and unfortunately avoid cooked fish and shell fish. The raw stuff is still OK.

Glad you are still with us Sarbear...looks like the swollen finger didn't effect your typing endurance.
