You're absolutely right Michelle. I wouldn't trade my peace of mind for anything right now. Don't get me wrong there's still a little turbulence here, and there, but able to handle it gracefully.:)

Yeah, it's great when you get older. You seem to know what you want out of life and what makes you happy. And, now if you go out and make an ass of yourself dancing to 80's music at a club with all the 21 year olds, you don't give a crap!

I was at this club called Depot (where they play GOOD 80's (like Front 242, Skinny Puppy and early Cure) music on Friday nights and this girl had the "Molly Ringwold" (via "Breakfast Club";) down perfect. I guess she was a toddler when the movie came out! Pretty funny! I need to get that move down------;)

I don't want to take over this thread, but man michelle I could talk about the 80's for days. I know the dance you're talking about. I was just trying to remember what the music was. First, I was thinking Wang Chung, but that was the running scene, so it had to be when they took over the library, and I think that song was an instrumental, but it kicked ass. I may have to U2U(speaking of U2 wasn't WAR, RED ROCK, and UNFORGETTABLE FIRE great albums? :D) you I could take up some Gigabytes when it comes to the 80's.

Hey Neuwave, I think we should put up a topic on 80's stuff, to talk about all the fun music and one hit wonders. And we could turn on TBS or TNT this weekend, to watch "The Breakfast Club" (it's on like every weekend). Yeah, gotta love the 80's! I also love when Molly is at the dance in "Sixteen Candles" and Anthony Michael Hall dances around her, he was "very hot, very hot".

I just put up some 80's inspired vintage (womens) clothing on Ebay.I'm so inspired by that era!!! I sell under SheVampsVintage. I'm finally going out on my own with no business partner like last time. What a disaster that was. Some of it is a little Gothy, but I love that part of the 80's too. (Tones on Tail, Bauhaus) Going to those kind of clubs in the late 80's was so much fun. They still have a couple of clubs here that cater to that type of music and look, like The Orpheus and Depot. I may have to drag my girl Char out again. She's been my 80's compadre since 1982!(we met in the 6th. grade when I asked her for the lyrics to "Photograph". We've been best buds ever since.) Hey, I heard that the Stray Cats were getting back together, is that true? I know Setzer did a X-Mas tour, but is that all?

Ahhhhh..................you're so lucky to have the Stray Cats in London!! I'm so jealous! I got to see them in like 91' or something-after their big hay-day. But none the less they were awesome! I love the pompadores, creepers and leopard sports coat Brian Setzer use to wear. Ah, maybe they'll tour here!!!!!

I love The Servant. I'm quite surprised to see them mentioned here as they don't seem very well known. I don't really think they have much in common with Ima Robot, though, other than the fact that their debut album kicks ass, too ;). I think I might like their two EPs more than their debut album, though. Anyhoo, great band and you folks should definitely give them a listen.

As for other bands, give Robots in Disguise a listen, too! They're on the same label as The Servant, Recall, so you can hear some clips at www.recallgroup.com. Just click on Artists and then select Robots in Disguise. They're a fun band. New album coming out in April, too!

I live in the US, which is very unfortunate considering that most of the bands I like are from Europe and rarely play here, if ever. If you're going to the gig, have fun!

Whoa!

They remind me a little of Lords of Acid. Their music is very sexual/techno/Rave. I really like their first CD "Lust", and "VooDoo U" is ok. After that, they lost me with the malehomo/sex thing. I don't know if your into that kinda stuff, but when I heard Gobsausage's music on their site it kinda reminded me of LOA. Check out their website : Lordsofacid.com

They're playing the Torture Garden on saturday but i'll be giving that one a miss unless i can borrow a pink wet suit ..

No, I didn't mean the homo/sexual stuff! I meant the sexual/techno/rave sound...hehehehe.

LOA changes their female singers quite a bit, and some of them are gorgeous. I went to see a band called The Genitorturers years ago and it was almost like seeing a live sex show! Pretty crazy! They are more hardcore metal, but the singer is soooo
hot!

Oh.. ha ha.. No it's not my sort of music.. Quite a few years ago we were at a club and the Genitorturers were playing across the road.. We were watching all the people going in and my mate said he really wanted to go.. We all laughed and then the next thing he took of his trousers and tee shirt.. turned his leather jacket inside out and over he went.. He looked like a right idiot in his pants (underwear to you americans),Doc Martin boots, bare flabby white chest and inside out leather jacket walking across the road.. We pissed ourselves but he got in.. Ha ha.
I rang him the next day but he was too shocked to talk.. Ha ha.

That's so funny. I saw them back in 93'. They had a human rack where they spun this guy around on it while she whipped him, Jen was piercing her (kitty) area while onstage, someone was getting a blow job and she stuck a pole of some sort up her suzy!

I was like Whoa! It was worth the $15 for the freak show....hey, I'll watch (from the back)....hehehe:saint:

Hey, Neighbourhood-- that's in mine. My neighbourhood I mean.. Wow guys, this thread has become so tangential, but also VERY interesting all of a sudden.

Since we are on a rant, I noticed that someone posted a link to Sleepytime Gorilla Museum in the Links section. Does that mean than someone here has heard of Idiot Flesh? Not really that close to Lords of Acid, but definately into the whole freakishly dressing up to entertain thing. Like Circus goth anti-rock. Crazygoodstuff.

Yeah, a couple months ago The Servant was listed to play in NY along with Robots in Disguise and a few other artists on Recall, but they have since been removed from the roster. I'm really dissapointed that they may not play the gig now, but as long as I get to finally see Robots in Disguise, I'll be happy. But who knows, perhaps The Servant will sign on for the gig at a later date? Hell, the show doesn't even have a date yet, so it doesn't seem like anything is written in stone. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Well, uh, have fun at that Blink 182 concert :P
