My musical tastes are... Very very.. Interesting.. To say the least... I'm a guitarist... Which does influence some of my Guitar music... Well..
Here... I'll just post up the music I listen to...
Blind Faith, Blue Oyster Cult, Bob Dylan, Cream, Creedence Clearwater Revival, CSN&Y, David Bowie, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Grateful Dead, Jimi
Hendrix, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rolling Stones, The Band, The Yardbirds....
lol... Tom Waits. [Do I really need to group him in any genre?]
Alright... Now classic rock.. Out of the way... Hip-hop, anyone?
Aceyalone, Aesop Rock, Apathy, Artifacts, Atmosphere, Binary Star, Bobby Digital, Canibus, Common, Copywrite, C-Rayz Walz, Cunninlynguists [harhar],
Cyne, Felt, Ill Bill, [Might as well throw in some mainstream] Fort Minor, Jay-Z, Kanye West, [back to underground, and back with one of the coolest
mc's I've ever met] Kosha Dillz, Living Legends, Mac Lethal, Oktober ZERO, One.Be.Lo, RJD2, Scarface, Yak Ballz
Now... That is done.. Here are some random randoms, which I can't fit into any large genres like the above...
Erick Turnbull [Amazing guitarist], James Blunt, Matisyahu [Amazing Reggae artist], moe. [I guess they could have gone in the Classic Rock section..
They is a jam band.], Radiohead [Need I introduce them? Sitting on 16 albums :-o], Seu Jorge [Covered some David Bowie songs around the period of Life
Aquatic with Steve Zissou being filmed], annndddd.. The Wallflowers [Good ol' 90s alt-rock].... OHHH!!! Rockchild [I found out about these guys
playing at a bar I was at... They were so fucking awesome. I met the guitarist because I never seen him around the bar before and we started talking.
The conversation was random and wound up with me finding out he was playing later that night. Pretty cool.]
Alright... Now... This section right here is... Mainstream rock music..
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Serj Tankian, The White Stripes...
LOL, that wasn't small at all....
Here is my pride and joy... Ska music :-D
AZZiL [French vocal Ska band. Epic. RIP], Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution [Members of Streetlight Manifesto were in BOTAR], Bruce Lee Band [Mike
Park & Rx Bandits (We will get to RxB soon), Catch 22 [After GIMP died, Tom Kalnoky joined Catch 22.. After he left this band he formed BOTAR...
And it's still around to some extent, but a few of the ~15 members went on to Streetlight Manifesto.], GIMP [Well shit, I think I just described
that... LOL... Tom Kalnoky was like 15 during the single CD being recording.. (1995)], Gogol Bordello [Well shit, I wouldn't know of ES&TMZ if it
wasn't for them. They opened up for Gogol last month], Reel Big Fish [Typical mainstream third-wave Ska], Rx Bandits [Hands down, favorite band in the
world... Seen them over 8 times live in 5 years, I plan on making that at least 11 by the time this year is up..], The Skatalites, State Radio [They
used to be a Ska band, now they are more indie rock, a good listen], Sto Zvirat [Czech ska band], Streetlight Manifesto [Seen 'em live 2 times. I
actually saw them and Reel Big Fish on 01-01-09. Pretty nice way to start off the new year. I love this bloody band], The Chinkees [Remember the Bruce
Lee Band? Well, Mike Park used to be in this group. Oh, and Steve Choi, the keyboard/guitarist of Rx Bandits was in The Chinkees], Forces of Evil
[Some Reel Big Fish members were in this group], Tsunami Rising [Good Reggae Ska band... Pretty good stuff. Out of Joisey], last but not least..
Zox... [Zox is.. Amazing. Their lead guitar is literally a violin. I found out about these guys April 16th, 2008... They were at the same show as Reel
Big Fish, Rx Bandits, & Streetlight Manifesto.... My buddy looked at me and goes "Do you hear.. Ska?" and we went searching for it. There was
maybe 15 people around the stage when we got up the hill... By the time they were done playing, at least 100 people were around the stage. Pretty
decent considering very few knew about them.]
That about sums it up.

I might as well also throw out some of my favorites in that grouping, because some of you fellows and fellowettes might enjoy their music.
First and foremost: Rx Bandits. R X F**king Bandits. www.myspace.com/RxBandits . Their new cd comes out July 14th, sound familiar? They used to be third-wave ska. Now they are a progressive band
donning the Genre of Groove-Tech. They no longer have horns, which saddens me... Check them out man. Youtube "Rx Bandits - Mandala".. It's samples
from their new cd.
Next up: Love You Moon. This is Matt Embree's solo project.. Lead Singer/Guitarist.. And with the new CD, one of the drummers of Rx Bandits... www.myspace.com/LoveYouMoonDog . This is a beautiful collection of music. Good music video right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AotZlmVd40k
Alright... Now... ES&TMZ-esque...
Well... I guess.. Zox might be up some alleys here. www.myspace.com/zox . Here's one of my favorite songs.. It literally fit a relationship I had perfectly.. Well, besides "When The Rain Comes Down
Again" [That song is perfect if you've ever been in a friendship with someone you really liked... And.. They only came to you when things were going
bad, because you could cheer them up... But they never realized how important you were, until you give up on being used.. Well, maybe I'm adding a
little bit too much of my own experiences here, but check out the song, You'll catch it. LOL]
Next: State Radio... This band... Oh my god... www.myspace.com/stateradio . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l12SPdM0Vk [Sad song about a guy who cares about his wife who is dying.. Check it out] . And also check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BkvRnUZJys [Song about an Ir-- Just watch the video, it'll fill you in very nicely] . Oh, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGZ_afc_7Xs [Hell, it even says it in the song (The Swan Song of a nation)]
I got a lot more, but I tried to custom tailor this to what I think might be the easiest to groove on. :-D

Dead Man's Party is my favorite album from them by far. I was watching youtube videos of them...They would have been a hoot to see live I think.
The new dredg album is still growing on me. I dont hate it by far....but I like the Leitmotif and El Cielo stuff better.

for stuff i play on my guitar? i like learning Cure songs, as well as some solid 80s rock (white wedding, etc). Being in a ska band kinda makes that
hard for me though.
listening to? i am a fan of the electro-dance stuff (lovemakers, faint, depeche mode, electric valentine/akcbd), as well as others (placebo, a bunch
of 80s music, bravery). Ima robot's older songs make me smile everytime though.
And then he fell into her eyes, and found them feeling worse than dirt...

Not much...IMA Robot dominates the world and Edward Sharpe is the king's (IMA Robot) right hand man. But pretty much any punk rock band will do just
good enough to satisfy.

Lately, it's been almost impossible for me to switch off Edward Sharpe and Ima Robot. It's very hard to tell sometimes, but I think I actually do like
some other bands.
Modwheelmood, Brand New, Blink-182, How To Destroy Angels, Black Light Burns, Scarling., Angels And Airwaves.
It all pales in comparison to my favorite bands, though. Haha.

@JPG - me too, plus soon to be a 3rd time - they just announced new tour dates, check them out!
@poobs I think Julian's solo album is far superior to any of the 3 Strokes albums, Phrazes is just so damn good. Can't wait for more music an more
touring.
