Just got back from the Fieries. Want to tell you it sucked but I can't. They were royally cool. Openers French Kicks and White Magic also worth the cheapo $10 entry.

Yea it was cheap $10 in Boston too... I love the Furnaces, they are very cool and fun.

I've heard good things about White Magic before too, but I haven't heard their music yet. What are they like?

White Magic, a little drone-y for my tastes. Creative, but only if you like dirge rock. The keyboardist/vocalist is the sister of one of the Casual Dots, her last name is Billotte and I think she was also in Slant 6.

are the Dresden Dolls worth checking out live ?

Anyone going to All Tomorrow's Parties in Long Beach? I think I'll go to check out Modest Mouse, Lou Reed, The Cramps, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, The Walkmen and White Magic.

This week i'm going to see.. Siouxsie at the 100 Club on Tuesday,Subways at the Buffalo Bar on Wednesday and also Golden Virgins and Hard Fi at 93ft East,Siouxsie again on Thursday if she's any good.. On Friday there's a Ramones do in Camden with a million bands including Ramonas,53rd and 3rd,Parkinsons,Toxic Slut,Girls on Top and also Gobsausage and then Gobsausage on Sunday too..
