The New Negatives:
This was recorded in October of 2002 at Spaceland in Silverlake. I don't think I've heard it played since.

Sexy.
Ima Robot broke this one out at The Coachella Music Festival in 2003, but this recording is from the short European tour that year; specifically from La Cigale in Paris.

Spearmint
One of those rare b-sides that to-date hasn't made it to a b-side. This one was played at The Troubadour in June of 2003.

STD Dance Video Clip [UCLA Free Show].
This video clip is from the UCLA Free show. What makes it so special, well it's a video clip and Ima Robot is performing at around noon. Noon is early. Enough said; but a sweet show it was.



Here are 10 second or so clips of the three audio tracks, you know what STD Dance sounds like, but you may not know what it looks like!

The previews aren't working for me..Didn't we just have New Negatives in there? I went for Spearment cuz I don't think I've ever heard it..How about Leo's Waltz in the running for the next one, Phob??

my vote was for spearmint, for reasons that appear obvious given the response for that track...

but... why is New Negatives live @ spaceland here when it's already "on ice"?

I must add a few thoughts here...Spearment is cool with its loud pressing hook and all. It is not the best song by any stretch. Leo is out there, interesting, perhaps even cool, but far out there. New negs is something to be considered....

Gordon makes an excellent point! The New Negatives is already up for download. In that case I give up, you all decide. New Negatives is cool though, a studio version will be cool.

I voted for the video of STD Dance, reason(s) being: New Negatives is already available on ice, Sexy I've heard many times, and Spearmint just didn't totally tickle my fancy (yet). But the main reason is that the UCLA show was particularly interesting becuase Alex's voice was so hoarse that he had to improvise a bit, which resulted in a slightly modified version of most the songs! And like Phobiac mention, the show was at noon, so you can actually see what's going on.

Phobiac, did you catch Mr. Disapproving Army Man Watching From Window With Frown On Face and Arms Folded Accross Chest Guy on the video? Did you notice him?

Duh..I didn't see the Internet Explorer thing..I was using Netscape and it wouldn't work..I got it now!!:duh:

somehow i managed to d/l the previews anyway by typing the url into netscape, then saving 'page' as ***.wma, then opening that file.
i voted for 'spearmint', need to know more different tunes!

I didn't catch that. Maybe it's hidden of the video I was shooting. I'll have to look for that.

I really like that song...kinda gloomy in a way.....but I like it.

Phob, Army....Guy was up in a second story window in the building behind the stage. He was looking down throughout the majority of the show with a look of disapproval. But it was kind of like when a Gary Super-Macho, homophobic guy sees a homo-erotic seen, and gets turned on by it but adamantly refuses to admit it, even to himself. You know what I mean?
