One of my best friends is gonna start a regular event in a nightclub as a dj. I think he's gonna play alternative-retro-80's-rock-punk-something-everything. You know, I'll push him into playing Ima Robot! :cool2:
Does anyone have an idea for a cool name for this event?

I can't think of anything right now, but I'll work on it!

Around town here in Richmond, most clubs and events have like one name to them like:

Fairenheight
Chop-stix
Retro
etc, etc...

Anyways, pick a noun or something and put a "The" before it like:

The Fever
The Knife
The Storm

or use the word "Club" like:

Club 98 degree
Club Chainz
Club Meteor

etc, etc...but as far as the Ima Robot is concerned, it would be hard to have a night stickly for them. But rather play music around their genre and post the song selection out where everyone can see what's playin and stuff.

Michelle, glad to hear that you're happy about it. I'm gonna also tell DJ Biffy (that's my buddy's nickname) about your decoration ideas! I told him about the name, he liked hit, and the next day he said it's officially gonna be called 'Velvet Plush'. Yeah!
The thing's gonna start in April and will take place every two weeks, I think.

Wow! What kind of cool music is he going to play? You guys oughta have a cool dress theme for everyone. It's so much fun to dress up like the 70's or the 80's!

Sounds like fun...I wish I could go....

It will be lotsa fun... I expect everything between Hot Hot Heat and The Hives, everything between Faith No More and Placebo, a bit of 80's music, maybe a little bit of recent Pop (Justin Timberlake and so on), we'll see. And maybe some Black Jettas or Dynomite.
All in all, I hope that it's a good mixture of 'alternative' party tunes.

Oh and I love the 80's styling. I definitely need more cool 80's fashion to wear. Another friend of mine's gonna celebrate his birthday with a dress theme like 'dress yourself with what you wore when you were 14 or 15 years old'. For me, it would be grunge style - hmmm I'll go there in 80's wear anyway.
