I would like to first dedicate this fresh new thread to my pals Mdub and the Faker. Most of you don't know them, but they hover these boards like I do. They are just painfully shy, which is disappointing because they could contribute so much to our beloved .net and instead, they just stand on the sidelines.

So I am just going to list a few things that are on my mind. Feel free to discuss.

1. Ages of Ruin, Chip of the Block, Twist & Shout, and why they didn't make the album
2. Ima Robot shows in LA vs. anywhere else
3. Phish
4. How to get rid of a cold and smoke weed simultaneously
5. Anything else

Doing #4 is easy. Hotbox a sauna...

6. Please comment on if you think the trajectory of Ima Robot's creative process will continue in the vein of their more funk-disco-oriented tracks, such as STD Dance and the other B-sides recorded late in the overall process of building the album, or if you believe they will deliver an altogether new sound. If so, please characterize this new sound.

7. If Alex were to fall into a body of water, would he a) front crawl, b) breastroke, or c) sidestroke to shore?

8. Discuss your dream setlist for the El Rey show, assuming B-sides will be played. Do you support the possibility of an acoustic set as part of the evening? Why or why not?

6a. I agree with the current trajectory theory. This has been more of a trend than a pattern and I believe that Sine Your Life is the sound. However, I also believe that the "funk-disco thing" is but one facet of Ima's capabilities and we should be careful to label them in any way. not like we did. Twist and Shout for example used to be all rocks and now has a more electro feel. Recorded and mixed with some synth at the begining brings it in my mind up to the current state of things as opposed to how it sounded in years past. At this point I have no reason to believe an "altogether new sound" is coming. I think they have shifted away from the more rock stuff (as amazing and original as it is) and gone down the super funk electro road. I read just yesterday that they have been making new music on the road with just laptops.

7. d) Proclaim "I'm dancing!" and proceed to whip up some veggie fungus juice drink thing.

8. Dream Setlist is below. I doubt seriously that we will ever see an acoustic set just because some things are meant to be plugged in...

Dream setlist would include Ages Of Ruin, I'm Your Bitch, The Beat Goes On, 666 (a dream, I know) STD Dance, Sex Symbols, Sine Your Life, The Faker, The Strangler, Black Money, Sexy..Plus songs from the album of course! A is for Action, 12=3, Scream, Song #1..The list could honestly go on and on..

Have you heard the Bullets and Bread recording where, during the funky get-down section, Alex is heard saying just that and cracking himself up over it? Funny, funny.

The acoustic thought came out of that amazing WOXY showing. If they wanted to, they could pull it off.

9. If you would alter any of Ima Robot songs in any way, which song would you change and what would you amend?

That's 9 solid questions...surely someone (MDUB / FAKER) has an opinion out there!

Well to answer my own question, I would revert back to the old Alive chorus with "They're watching us walk, oh look at them talk" or whatever it was, even though it was a bit repetitive. It reinforced the us versus them theme in that song, which I really liked.

Mdub, I should have guessed it would be Lance. An undeniable combination of brains AND beauty.

I would definately support an acoustic portion..I was really blown by the WOXY performance..But it couldn't be a whole show..I just don't know if I could deal with a mellow Bot..

so who can tell me the name or title of the person who "changed" the chorus of Alive to what it is now?

Lance told me he was responsible for the change.
