MUSE (uk)
...(phone ringing, eurotone...ans. machine picks up)..."Hello, this is Muse, were not home right now, we're out trying to take over the
world one bloody hellish night at a time, leave your digits, cheers"...
"...uh, good day mates, bollocks to that, this is Radiohead calling,
we'd very much appreciate having back our old setlist, song structure, vocalist, sound effects, string arrangements and road crew,
and do that on the double or you'll have a ton of fucking journalists in the U.S. calling you copycats and asking if we'd changed our name
to 'Mausoleum'...get on that ol' chaps,
hop hop, fucking bastards..." click.
...I just bought 'Absolution' which just came out in the states and granted I loved the song I'd heard, especially propelled by the
recommendation from a drummer I know in a number of world class, death-metal bands, of all people believe it or not, who said they were one of his
newer raves..."Like Radiohead,
but different."
Easily said, apparently easy done...the music is
so Radiohead it hurts. You're almost like 'THAT IS
Thom Yorke singing'. I shizzle you not,
but like said...it's...different, a little harder edged, a little fuzzier and definately about as hungry as a
coyote and a vulture trying to eat each other.
I've listened to most of the record twice, with a couple of interuptions, ...I like it... for now.
Go see them in a tiny club...oh yeah, their first U.s. gig is
at Coachella...hmm, well good luck.

ok...this record has resurfaced on the decks and has taken on a second wind...I notice no one replied and maybe have some ??? but I tell you this, by
the end of the year they will quite possibly be something to write about given they lay it on pretty thick in the states...
their sound again is very Radiohead on the surface...the piano is there the guitars squall is there and the vocals are very much a tribute, but they
lay on the heavy and get very very rockin' in their own right...I've listened to this quite a bit over the last few days and hopefully
they'll play a tiny club within 100 miles and put on a show that I'm hoping will be incredible...

I got Absolution and Showbiz a couple weeks back and haven't been able to get them out of my cd player. On my first couple listens through, I
also thought of Radiohead. But the more I listened to them, the more differences I found between the two bands. Personally, I like Muse a lot more.
His voice amazes me and I love how loud his breathing is in the songs. Every song on both CDs are unbelievably good. This band is right up behind Ima
on my list...

I think they sound a bit like RadioHead as well, his voice atleast. I haven't been able to give the album a full listen yet, but I like it so
far.

Everyone was like "oh you like Radiohead, you'll like Muse" but it just doesn't work that for me. I could never get into the
album of theirs I have, maybe I'll give it another spin though.

Holy mother load. I just got back from their show and it was definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to. They were so amazing. Has
anyone else seen them live?

I saw them in SF as well! It kicked ass! I saw them at Coachella, but this was SO much better. Where were you standing? I was right by the speaker on
the right side. I could pretty much only see Matt from the angle I was at, but that didn't matter because they sounded so amazing.
Did you get one of the posters they were handing out for free? It's pretty cool.
I got a setlist! And we stayed after to meet them all! The filmed the show and us meeting them and said that they're making a dvd (!) :D

I was in the middle in the second row. I could see all of them perfectly. It was awesome. I got one of the posters and I also got that pink shirt. I
really wanted a setlist and I wanted to stay and meet them, but the people I was with wanted to go home, so I had to leave. That's sweet that you
got to meet them. Are they seriously making a dvd of it? That would be awesome. I've always wanted a dvd of a show that I went to. That was such
a good night. I can't wait to see them again.

guitar. i love it.

I just tried to say that aloud, but there were people in the room with me and they looked at me really weird. So I just laughed and didn't
explain. But anyway, I like his breathing in the songs. It's intense. I think Evil already used the word intense, but there is no other word to
describe it.

Wow, I love muse too. When I first heard their famous song I didn't think it was Thom Yorke. I am a Radiohead freak so I know his voice when I
hear it. I love Bellamy's breathing before a line and that tiny little screech sound when you breathe in quickly. You are going to try and do it
aren't you? oh did you buy them on ticket master or something????? I want to go.
